Both my husband and I had stuffy heads, slight fevers and coughs this week. Hooray! Ugh. Our weather has been fall like and I am dreading the coming of winter. It has turned my head to mysteries, thrillers and horror though. I read The Stand in 1980 and revisited it, but this time on audio. I love it. We watched The Thursday Murder Club and continued with Countdown. Hazel came for a sleepover Friday night and kept us busy Saturday. The Royals have a four-day weekend thanks to Labor Day and an in-service day. Stay Caffeinated and spread kindness.

My grandson came over for a 3 day weekend too and he is sick as well. I can only hope I don’t get whatever crud he has.
Lisa R. Howeler
I hope you both feel better and don’t get anything!
hena
Sorry to hear you both are unwell.. feel better soon.
I too want to watch Thursday Murder Club.. how are you liking Countdown?
vidya
we are in the middle of a few really hot days right now where we are!! so it is full on summer for us..i am waiting for fall
Carla@CarlaLovesToRead
Sorry to hear you have been under the weather, Kimberly. My grandkids start school on Tuesday, so I won’t see them much after that. Our weather has also been cooler, but is supposed to heat up this week, just in time for the kids to go to school.
Victoria
We watched The Thursday Murder Club yesterday. I enjoyed it. My allergies are super bad right now, I can’t wait for the ragweed pollen to go away!
Jen at Introverted Reader
I’ve got a cold this weekend too, with the exact same symptoms. *sigh* What a way to celebrate the unofficial “end of summer.” We’ve had cooler temps this week and they have been such a relief after this summer’s unrelenting heat. I didn’t connect the weather and my recent Stephen King read, but I suspect that the cooler temps did influence that decision, now that you mention it. I’m excited to watch The Thursday Murder Club. I hope you feel better!
Jill
Oops I forgot it was Sunday. I’ve been re-watching Stranger Things. The weather definitely made me want to.
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
I am also ready for the cooler weather! So far it seems like we might be getting that a little bit now. I loved The Stand. Once I read it the first time, in the 90s I think, it was one I would reread, back in the days when I didn’t have a huge TBR like I do now, and would just reread my favorites. Hope you have a good week!
Meezan
I struggle in the summer the way you do in the winter. I hope you both feel better soon and you have a great week. 🙂

Bummer about the stuffy heads. I am looking forward to The Thursday Murder Club. Yes, the weather has been really fallish lately.
Have a good week, Kimberly!
Jamie @ The Fantasy Princess
I hope you both feel better soon! I enjoy reading a mystery once in a while.
Sophie
I hope that your cold will soon get away Kimberly! And I also watched (and loved) the Thursday Murder Club!

In the 80s we were reading Stephen King the day his books came out. Couldn’t get our hands on them fast enough. I don’t remember if I read The Stand or not, but I’m glad to hear it still holds up!
Billy Burgess
I haven’t read The Stand in years. There’s a new shorty story anthology, The End of the World as We Know It, set in the world of The Stand.
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
I’m sorry to hear you and your husband have been ill. I hope you feel better soon. I am enjoying the break from hot-and-humid, and hoping it continues. I’m more a fall and spring weather person, tbh.
sherry fundin
Yeah, it’s definitely flu season coming up. Sometimes it’s hard to know if it is the fly or if it allergies. Take care.
Bree @ Bibliophilebree
I’ve been dealing with fall allergies so I get what you and your husband were dealing with. Hope you have a great week.

Our weather has also been Fall-like and not at all like a typical August in NC. Well, the 1st half was definitely August in NC. Anyway, it makes me deeply suspicious of what’s coming.
Anne - Books of My Heart
NO I hope you get over your colds quickly. I think I am waiting for the November audiobook of the Charley Cox. I hope I can get it if Tantor is not the publisher. Enjoy your holiday weekend.
Steph
I have been feeling gross too. With the students back I could have picked something up ….or still allergies, lol, I can’t tell. Hope you feel better soon!
Becki
Hope you and hubs are on the mend quickly! I feel like it’s gotten cold a lot faster before Labor Day this year! I’m ready to count down to summer again. LOL
Jodie
I hope that you both feel better soon.
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Hope you’re both feeling better now! We’re finally getting some nicer temps up here. Nothing anywhere near fall like, which I am craving but not being in the upper 90s-100s is a nice change of pace all the same!
Nice new read! That sounds like an intriguing one! I hope you enjoy it!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

I hope you both feel better soon!
I’m ready to read mysteries, thrillers, and horror, too.

I know it’s cooling off there, and that’s disappointing to you. We would welcome a bit of cooler weather here.
Bonnie Reads and Writes
I hope you feel better! That cover of The Hunting Grounds is mesmerizing!
Melissa
It’s been feeling fall like here too. I am looking forward to fall and early winter.
Emily @ Budget Tales Book Blog
I’ve managed to watch about the first 5 mins of The Thursday Murder Club. The kids aren’t interested (aged 7 and 2) so it makes it difficult to find time to watch it.
We are finishing our colds. My son starts back at school on Wednesday.
The weather here is rainy. I love the Autumn/Winter months.
Hope that you all get better soon!
Lola
I hope both you and your husband feel fully better soon. We have had a few rainy days, but also still some warm days and sunshine. Have a great week!
Rachel @Waves of Fiction
I watched The Thursday Murder Club too and liked it, but I thought it wasn’t as good as the book. Not surprising. Hope you and your husband feel better!
Lori
I am sorry you’re feeling poorly, but love you have turned to mysteries and thrillers.
Hope you are feeling well enough to enjoy the long weekend. I plan to hold on to Summer for as long as I can.
Yvonne @ Socrates Book Reviews
I’m sorry you and your husband aren’t feeling well. I hope you are feeling better. I have to watch The Thursday Murder Club. It looks great. Hope you have a great week. Get well soon.
Laurel-Rain Snow
Hope you all feel better soo.
I am eager to read The Thursday Murder Club.
Haze @The Book Haze
We watched The Thursday Murder Club too! I haven’t read the book but I loved the movie and I’ll try to read the book soon.
