Deep Dark by Laura Griffin is the tenth book in her Tracers series. Each of the books in this series work as standalone and focus on a criminal case with new characters. In Deep Dark Detective Reed Novak searches for a serial killer with the help of Laney Knox a cyber investigator. Intense with twists, a delicious side romance and secrets Deep Dark satisfied.

Finders Keepers by Stephen King
Finders Keepers by Stephen King is the second book in his Bill Hodges trilogy. I for one am enjoying these crime novels and its cast of quirky characters. I have been listening to the series on audio and love having Will Patton narrate them. Bill and the gang don’t get as much page time as the previous novel but King delivered a compelling story with villain Morris Bellamy and a young man named Peter Saubers.
See How Small: A Novel by Scott Blackwood
See How Small by Scott Blackwood is a literary fiction sharing the aftermath of the brutal murder of three teenage girls. It shares the story of the survivors, the suspects and weaves in a paranormal effect involving the three dead girls who hover over the town and make occasional visits. While this tale with its meandering, erratic time line will not be for everyone, you cannot help but appreciate Blackwood’s beautiful prose, and haunting look into this small Texas town.
The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
As a fan of Criminal Minds, CSI and the like, I slipped right into the Jennifer Lynn Barnes newest novel, The Naturals. She weaves a tale of serial murders, cold cases and young teens with natural abilities creating a unique tale that was both fun and suspenseful. Mini review: different, suspenseful and engaging.
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Gone Girl was in my reading pile for ages, but when you are a compulsive book buyer and blogger, well, things often get shuffled around. When Lauren @ Northern Plunder mentioned she picked up Gone Girl I immediately suggested we read it together. Our exchange of texts made me giggle as Flynn took us on one heck of a ride. Three word review: twisted, captivating, a nail-biting page turner.
