Deeper Than the Dead by Debra Webb is the first in the Vera Boyett mystery series and was a Prime First Read in July. This was a twisty southern murder mystery that pulled me in as we meet Vera Boyett, a disgraced deputy police chief who returns home when a body is discovered on her family’s homestead.

🎧 Signal Moon by Kate Quinn
I have several of Kate Quinn’s novels in my TBR pile, so when I got the chance to try Signal Moon, narrated by Saskia Maarleveld and Andrew Gibson, I jumped in blind. This short story delivered a fantastic story as past meets present in this brilliant and suspenseful tale.
A Merciful Death by Kendra Elliot
The first novel in the Mercy Kilpatrick series, was a Prime book selection. An FBI agent returns to her hometown when someone murders doomsday preppers. Suspense, a little romance and a great mystery kept me flipping the pages.
Stillhouse Lake by Rachel Caine
I received STILLHOUSE LAKE by Rachel Caine from Prime’s Kindle First feature and added the audio for a few dollars. I am really glad that I did as the narration by Emily Sutton-Smith was superb. Caine delivers a psychological thriller that kept me on edge. It is the first novel in the Stillhouse Lake series. Addictive with small-town quirks, twists, and suspense.
