After listening to the Rebels & Redcoats Saga by T.J. London, I’ve been on the lookout for more books set during the American Revolutionary War. I was intrigued by the synopsis of A Girl Called Samson by Amy Harmon. I am so glad I listened to this delightful, well executed historical fiction featuring a fearless heroine and a swoon-worthy romance.
I didn’t realize A Christmas Courtship by Shelley Shepard Gray was part of the Berlin Bookmobile series and book three at that, but I loved the idea of a bookmobile librarian helping an Amish bachelor court his neighbor. This sweet holiday story shares two romances to warm your heart.
As Bright as Heaven by Susan Meissner was a poignant story set in 1900’s Philadelphia and a portion takes place during World War I, the Spanish Flu and eventual Prohibition. Narrated by Cassandra Morris, Tavia Gilbert, Jorjeana Marie, Abigail Revasch this brilliantly crafted historical fiction shares the Bright families triumphs, heartaches and the bonds that tie them.
