What the Bride Wore by Jade Lee is the third book in the Bridal Favors series. I did not read the first two books and feel this works easily as a standalone. I enjoyed this romance which was filled suspense and heat. It appears that each of the tales deal with female friends and their individual love stories. Three word review: sweet, original and suspenseful.
Daughter of the Sky by Michelle Diener
This was my first adventure involving the Victorian empire and Zululand, South Africa. Daughter of the Sky is a story about war, spies and greed laced with a romance and fascinating characters. I found myself swept up in the historical events and the beautiful landscape. Three word review: captivating, adventurous, passionate.
How to Woo a Reluctant Lady by Sabrina Jeffries
If you have followed my blog for the past year then you are well aware of my love for Sabrina Jeffries and her Hellions of Hellstead Hall series with its strong characters and their mischievous, meddling Grandmother. How to Woo A Reluctant Lady offers us Lady Minerva Sharpe’s tale, one of two sisters in the Hellions family and oh lord is she snarky, quite witted and in over her head. While each can be read as a standalone, there is an overall mystery ARC that is threaded throughout and one I quite enjoy. Three world review: funny, smexy and suspenseful.
The Mystery Woman by Amanda Quick
Can I just have a fangirl moment? Squee! This is one of my favorite authors and one whom I would love to meet and share a coffee with. Amanda Quick is one of Jayne Anne Krentz’s pen names and the other is Jayne Castle. I adore her books in all three genres; historical, contemporary and futuristic. The Mystery Woman is the second book in the Ladies of Lantern Street and Quick truly delivered. The tale is filled with spies, mystery, romance and danger all wrapped in a little paranormal woo-woo. Set in historical London I quickly slid into the world and its characters. Three word review: Suspenseful, romantic, captivating.
