Queen of Always by Sherry D. Ficklin is the last book in the Stolen Empire series and perhaps the darkest. Catherine needs to be ruthless if she is to survive life in the Imperial Court. Ficklin delivered in sharing the last chapters of Catherine’s story and it held me spellbound.

With it the tone of this trilogy darkens and in a word is was brilliant. Set in Russia and loosely based on a young Catharine the Great I found myself swept up as Catherine navigated the Imperial Court.

Riven is the third book in the Lost Imperial series by Tyler Jolley and Sherry D. Ficklin. Riven mirrors the timeline of Prodigal and offered an intense ride. This tale focuses on Ethan and his story held me spellbound from the mysterious Stills to rifting in the future.

To spice things up on Wednesdays between “Waiting On” posts and reviews, I am going to share ”Recipe and a Book Recommendation.” Today I have an easy meal that is perfect for cold winter nights and is sure to please even the pickiest eater in your family.
