Spent much of the week worrying about someone I care about, which led to sleepless nights and getting sick this weekend. I just need to remember that you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink. Frustrating. We took the grandkids to the zoo, the Union-Pacific Railroad museum, the movies and more this week. It was a lot of fun and distracted me from worrying. During the month of July, I read/listened to 22 books, bringing my Goodreads challenge to 139/150 and Audiobook challenge to 90/150. Stay Caffeinated and spread kindness.

I’ve got a tour open in August for Romancing the Author, the first in the Cara series by Julieann Dove. It’s a fake-date, slow-burn women’s fiction romance. The tour has review stops, excerpts, an author interview and author playlist. We would love for you to join us.

It sounds like you had a great week with the Royals. It is hard when we are worried about someone we care about. I hope things get better for your loved one/friend, Kimberly.
Katherine
Sounds like a wonderful time with the grandkids! I’m sorry about the person close to you. It’s so frustrating when someone won’t help themselves but there’s only so much you can do. Miss Winter in the Library with a Knife is on my TBR. It looks so fun! I hope you’re having a better week and are getting some rest and feeling better.

Miss Winter in the Library with a Knife sounds like a lot of fun! I’m sorry you’ve been worrying a lot lately, I hope the situation works out okay🖤. Although I’m glad you got to spend some time with the grandkids.
Meezan
Glad you enjoyed the time with your grandkids. I hope this coming week brings you much joy. 🙂
Victoria
Ugh, I’m sorry you have that going on, it sucks.
Jinjer
So sorry about the person who is worrying you deep into the night! I’m glad you had some good times to redirect your focus, if only for awhile.
Lydia C. Lee
Off to find the Edwards book – that looks fun! And I hear you on the worry. I know there’s all that Let Them everyone talks about but I still worry! Hope there’s less to worry about this week.
Sophia Rose
That is the worst, helpless feeling when someone you care about has you so worked up that its all you think about and keeps you up at night. Hope it goes better soon.
Fun week with the kiddos!
Have a good one, Kimberly!
Mary Kirkland
Yes, I am learning that lesson myself with a family member.

Ms Winter in the Library with a Knife sounds interesting. The game clue in a book. Could be good. I hope you enjoy it.

It is SO hard not to worry about those we care about, but I think in the end we are the ones who suffer for it. It’s a daily letting go, but again, so hard! It sounds like it was a great week with the grandkids, and you are doing great with your reading!
Sophie
I am so sorry you went through this Kimberly but you are right. That’s how I felt when my dad was an alcoholic and was in total denial. He was a good and sweet man and I felt so helpless seeing him ruin his health and life but nothing could be done without him deciding to help hismelf. Sending hugs!

I get the worrying making you sick. I’ve had a lot of those issues this summer and am working to keep myself from spiraling. I don’t want to start taking anxiety medication again, but might have to. Being busy with being back to work this week helped a little. That new book looks interesting! Especially after I went to a live Clue performance this past week. Hope you have a better week!

Sorry you have been worrying about someone that you really care about. The horse to water point is a good one and I definitely have had to remind myself of it about loved ones in the past.

It’s hard when a person you love is on a path you think isn’t a good one. But it’s as you say, you can’t force anyone and often they have to learn their own lessons. We went to a rail-road museum yesterday with the grandkids! Hope you’re able to sleep better this week, Kimberly!

I can certainly relate to worrying about a loved one. I’m glad you found something to distract you even if only for a short time. Take care.
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Sorry to hear about your worries over someone. I can definitely understand that situation. Hope it can get better for all! Glad you were able to have fun with the grandkids though! Those sound like fun activities!

So sorry you’re worrying:(. And I know how truly that drains all the light and colour out of everything – because I’m also very, very concerned for a close relative right now. I hope everything works out well for them. Sending a hugx
Lola
Sorry to hear you worried so much about someone you cared about, that sounds tough. Glad to hear you had a good time with your grandkids and how that helped distract you a bit.
Janette
Sorry that it’s been a hard week. It’s so difficult worrying about other people especially if you can’t actually do anything about the situation. Glad that you had a good time with your family though. Well done on your reading goals too. Have a great week and I hope it’s less stressful.
Taylor @ Taylor Fenner’s Bookish World
So sorry to hear that you had a difficult week. It’s definitely hard when you’re worrying about a loved one and forget to give yourself the attention you need as well. I hope this week is better!
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
I’m sorry you have been worried and not sleeping well. It’s a miserable feeling, isn’t it? I’ve been in a similar boat the last few weeks, though my anxiety has a different cause. I hope you are able to sleep, and to let go of at least some of your worry.
Also, well done on the reading this month!
Kylie
Sorry you’ve had such a difficult week. Hopefully your worries get resolved soon. Sounds like spending time with your grandkids was just what you needed though.
Congrats on how well you’re doing with your reading goals. Happy reading!
Haze @The Book Haze
I’m sorry you’ve been feeling frustrated. It’s hard when a situation you care about is not within your control. I hope things work out in the end. Take care of yourself.
Yvonne @ Socrates Book Reviews
I’m sorry for all you went through this week. I’m glad you were able to find distractions. You had a great reading month in July. I hope August is a good month too. Have a great week.

I am sorry for your worries. Your distractions sounded like a lot of fun though.
I hope you find a way to help the person you care about. (((Hugs)))

Worrying does consume a lot of time and energy. Glad you were able to read so many books.
