This week we got together with some old friends who moved to England. Good food and delightful conversations were had. We are experiencing a heat wave with temps above 100. But you know me, I prefer it to winter. It’s playoff time for Clayton’ baseball team. We have two games scheduled this week and from there, who knows? It should be exciting. Got my haircut by a new stylist who didn’t listen and cut it about 3 inches too short without layers. I look like a toddler or my mother. Send whiskey. Stay Caffeinated and spread kindness.

Oh no I’m sorry the hairstylist didn’t listen. I recently cut my hair and I was nervous during because it wasn’t looking like what I wanted but in the end even though it was a little shorter than I wanted I still ended up loving it.

  2. Katherine

My hairstylist has been cutting her hours and it makes me so nervous! It’s so hard to find someone who you can really work with. The Mimi Matthews is calling my name! Have a great week!

  3. Val

I dislike heat. We’ve been having heat as well but it’s letting up today for a nice day in the 70’s with rain in the afternoon. My favorite.

Good thing hair grows but in the meantime, read a book with whiskey in it.

Enjoy your new books. Val Stuck In Books

I think I ended up cutting my hair a little too short too (some layers are visible though).. but it works for the heat wave we have here as well..

  5. Jill

I’m losing track of the days and I forgot to post. Hope your hair grows fast!

  6. Sophia Rose

Yay for Clayton’s team and yay for a visit with friends, but boo on a disappointing hairdo.

    Stay cool, Kimberly!

How fun to see friends. I prefer winter. I have plenty of Minnesota clothes and I can only take off so many clothes without severe sunburn, right? I only cut my hair once a year now and have them take off the bottom 3-6 inches. I should have done already for this year.

Oh nooo… I feel your pain. Having your hair cut in a way that you don’t like is grim. Sending TWO bottles of virtual whiskey in deep sympathy! Glad at least that you’ve got some sunshine and I hope the coming week showers you with plenty of lovely books.

  9. Lisa Howeler

Oh no about the haircut! Hopefully it will even out soon and you’ll like it better! Or you can find more whiskey! Have a great reading week!

  10. Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)

Ugh! I hate when a new hairstylist, or I’ve even had my usual hairstylist mess up my hair! Hopefully you’ll be able to grow it out easily. I’m glad someone is enjoying this heat! It’s not me. But it is that time of the year. I give up on trying to save money on electric in the summer because I can’t relax if I’m sweating. lol. The Marriage Hex looks good, I’ve added it to my TBR!

The weather is really hot here. Not quite at your temps apparently 30 degrees c here is roughly 84 degrees f. I absolutely hate it. We don’t have fans or air con so we are suffering a bit! Even our car doesn’t have it as it’s currently broken.

I have the same hairdresser (except when she rudely went off to have kids 🤣🤣). I hope that it grows out soon!

    Anyway, have a good week!

  12. Meezan

Oh no. Sorry about the haircut. Hopefully it will grow out soon and you can start again. We’re in for a heatwave this week, too. Fall can’t come soon enough for me. 🙂

  13. A Voracious Reader

We’re also getting the heat. I’m not a Summer or Winter person. I prefer Spring. lol I hate getting someone new to cut my hair. The lady who cut all my length off in March for my birthday did a fantastic job. Since I go to Great Clips whenever I remember to stop, I got someone else this time and it’s not horrible. But maybe I should check Jennifer’s schedule lol Good luck to Clayton’s team!

  14. Sophie

Oh Gosh Kimberly I am so sorry for your haircut! I know it grwos back but that’s still unfortunate! We also do have a heatwave here and I go to the pool as often as I can!

  15. Olivia

Glad you got to see your old friends. Oh man, I’m sorry about the new stylist. Holy crap! At least it’s not permanent. Hang in there!

  16. Samy @ insamyniac

I can feel the pain on the messed up haircut – one of those reasons why I cut them myself nowadays. Also, because I got the tools and want to experience it for a while, hehe

From experience, I know spray water bottles help amazingly out during this heat! I’m about to get mine ready, as it’s so, so helpful. I don’t like AC’s too much.

It’s getting warmer again here as well. Just glad we manage to get it cool down at work.
    Thanks for sharing!

  17. Jodie

Oh no! I hate a bad haircut but appreciate your sense of humour. Hopefully it grows back quickly. Have a great week!

  18. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Yeah I know our temps have been in the upper 90s but heat index wise it’s probably 100+ and I LOATHE it! Lol. I’d rather have the freezing temps and bundle myself up! I am counting down the days til then…bit since it’s unpredictable as to when fall will arrive I have no idea how long I’m counting down from! Fall never arrives in September and it’s usually not here until the end of October…if we’re lucky!

Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them both!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

So sorry about your haircut, hopefully it grows out quickly for you. We installed out window ACs this week because we are supposed to be getting a heat wave. I am not mentally prepared for it.

We also had some really warm weather this week and it’s been pretty hard to handle as houses here don’t have AC’s. That’s nice you got to spend some time with old friends. That’s annoying your new hairstylist messed up your hair and didn’t listen to what you wanted. The Marriage Hex looks interesting!

  21. Lori

Like you I love the heat over the cold. How wonderful to catch up with old friends. The rain kept us from sports this week.. Good luck to Clayton. I hope his team goes far in the tournament and even for the win!

A case of virtual whiskey is headed your way. Hope it makes your hair grow fast on your head, not in your chest as the old saying goes LOL

  22. Taylor @ Taylor Fenner’s Bookish World

We’re struggling through the heatwave here in Wisconsin too and as miserable as it is I’ll always take it over snow and below zero temps. So sorry that your new hair stylist didn’t listen and cut your hair too short! I’ve had that happen a time or two and it feels like it takes forever to grow back out.

Wow, it got hot where you are! We didn’t break 70 these last couple of days. I’ve been freezing all day in the house, but we get back up in the upper 80s-90s next week. Oh no, with the haircut! I hope your hair grows out quickly so you can get it back the way you want it!
