I did not meet my Goodreads or Audible Goals in 2024, but I came respectably close. 193/200 for Goodreads and my audiobook challenge 128/150. I met my Library Love Goal 12/12. For 2025, I kept my goals at 150 for Goodreads and 150 for Audiobook. This year I am going to let my mood rule my reading & listening, so we shall see. I went to the doctor’s on Monday and am pleased to report I have lost 63 lbs and we removed one of my blood-pressure meds. My goal this year is to move more. I move by chasing the grandkids on the daily, but am committing to 3 workouts a week. We stayed home on New Year’s Eve and watched Wicked the movie. With no grandkids on Wednesday, I went into full sloth mode and watched movies. Thursday saw me back with the grandkids and working. Our tree is still up, but the Epiphany is Monday and I hope to get it all taken down Tuesday when the grandkids are finally back to school! Stay Caffeinated.

I’m a big fan of sloth mode! Sometimes it is just required. I hope you’re staying healthy, enjoying your books, and having a great week!

Kudos on your healthy weight loss… I will be moving more as well this year.. The cover of All the Missing Pieces is gorgeous. And Holmes is Missing (another missing:)) intrigues
    Happy New Year!

Oh my goodness – I’m so impressed by your weight loss, Kimberly! That’s an amazing amount to lose. I’m hoping to lose a stone this year – I’ve been piling it on since I got sick and had to spend so much time in bed. But running around after grandkids certainly helps to keep you active! A very happy New Year to you and yours.

You got really close to your challenges. I made my Goodreads, but I have to check on my Audiobook one. I still need to do an end of the year post for that and sign up for the new challenge. I’m behind with being gone for a week and a half. It’s good to be home! Congratulations on your weight loss and good luck on your health goals! It’s so important, especially at our age!

Great job on your health goals! In addition to your three workouts a week, consider “exercise snacks”. My nutritionist suggested this. It’s not food, but short bursts of high energy exercise lasting just a a few minutes (anywhere from 2-10 minutes). The goal is to sneak in short periods of time to exercise throughout the day. It adds up. 🙂

You did an amazing job with your reading goals, Kimberly. Even if you didn’t quite meet all of them–that’s impressive. Congratulations on your weight loss! That is awesome! I need to make moving my goal this year as well. I feel how much I need to every day and I don’t like that feeling. Motivation is my biggest obstacle. I hope you have a great week and Happy New Year!

I think that those numbers are excellent! I got 95 books read, but as it is all dependant on my youngest son’s nap times, we shall see what this year will bring!

My son and partner are back to school tomorrow. I can’t believe how quickly the holiday went!

    Have a good week

We watched Wicked (again) on New Years’ Day. Hubs was the only one who hadn’t seen it yet. I need to start getting the decorations down. We need another day off AFTER the holidays for all the continued related tasks 😉

Well done on losing so much weight and good luck with keeping the moving going. I think your reading was fantastic too especially as so many were audio books which take so long. Have a great week!

Yay for being able to get off the blood pressure medication! I would like to do that. My blood pressure has been sooooooo good every time I go to the doctor, but I haven’t lost any weight, so I think that’s my next goal to help with that. I gave up last year and dropped to 150 for the year on Goodreads, sticking to it again. I want like you to read more of what I want, which means those books I bought and are sitting on my TBR shelf because of all the review books I keep taking. Trying really hard not to take as many this year. Hope you have a good week!

That weight loss is amazing!! Way to go!!! Keep up that health journey. I’m starting a new one and don’t feel great right now but I know I will as I keep going.

Quiet new year for us too but we are away celebrating our family Christmas this weekend. Enjoy those grands!

You did way better than me on your book goals and congrats on the weight loss! I’m so jelly! Why is putting on the weight so damn easy and taking it off so damn hard? So unfair! *raises glass* Here’s to a better year.

  14. Bookworm

Congrats on your reading and health news, that’s great. Our tree stays up through 3 Kings Day also. Happy reading this week. The Ember Holt cover and title are fun.

  15. Carla

Personally p, I think I read more when I let mood dictate my reading. If I’m forcing it, it feels like work and I quickly abandon it.

Congratulations on loosing the weight and getting off by meds! That’s a wonderful achievement!

  16. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Wow! That’s good news about the weight loss and getting off one of your medications! Congrats! I still want to see Wicked but at this rate, I’m just going to wait for it to hit Peacock since we have that for the time being! Lol. It looks cute and I loved the book and the musical was amazing as well, so might as well see it’s third formation! Lol.

Nice new reads! These are some new to me ones but I am seeing Grady Hendrix’s book a bit today now! Lol. Hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

Happy new year! That’s great how close you got for your goals and I like your goal of letting your mood guide your reading and listening this year. I hope you have a good week.

My tree is still up too. My kids are supposed to go back to school Monday but of course they’re predicting snow. Guess what their job will be then?
