I have been enjoying Chuck Wendig’s special brand of horror, (even if he forever ruined apples for me) and was excited to dive into The Calamities, book one of the Fiends. A dark fantasy horror with demons, greed, powerful families and vivid dreams that bring four characters together on a deadly quest. I read along as I listened to the audiobook with it’s all star cast of narrators.
I had the privilege of reading along as I listened to The Staircase in the Woods by Chuck Wendig, narrated by Jay Myers, Amber Benson, and Xe Sands. Never ever climb a staircase you find in the woods. Seriously. Don’t do it! Don’t believe me? Grab the book or audiobook and travel with four friends as they climb those stairs in search of their lost friend.
I had ordered the ebook and was waiting to see if it would whispersync for audio, when Hearne offered me a code and I immediately dove in. I absolutely love Luke Daniels’ narration of Hearne’s stories and was excited to listen to both Dawson’s and Wendig’s offerings. At just under eight hours, you’ll want to add this to your audio library.
I enjoy Chuck Wendig’s brand of horror & fantasy storytelling. I knew going in this would be perfect for the spooky season and he did not disappoint. I listened to the full cast narration and will never look at an apple or apple orchard the same. Grab a cup of coffee and check out my thoughts…
Told from multiple points of view, Wayward by Chuck Wendig picks up five years after The Wanderers ended. An epic, dark, realistic and politically charged tale that you won’t be able to set down.
