This was a weird weather week, that felt more like fall then the middle of August. Rain, gray skies, wind and cooler temps left us feeling confused. I continued devouring audiobooks, had some dental surgery and visited blogs.  My funk continues but onward buttercup! I hope the week was a good one for you, I know many are heading back to school or have little ones preparing to go.  Stay Caffeinated!

On Thursday it was 69 and very windy. Upon going outside the Royals decided they needed their coats. Little summer jackets would not do. Nope, they wanted their winter ones. Barefooting and in winter coats they happily played!

We had similar weather all week. There was a lot of small flooding and it was much cooler than normal August temps. But we’re back to the hot, hot, hot Western Slope weather. Keep Caffeinated, Kimba.

Dental surgery, gray skies, rain and funk doesn’t sound good. Sorry for all of it! I had two trips to the dentist myself this week but thankfully no surgery. It was cooler here this week with some rain as well but we go back to the 90’s tomorrow. I am so ready for Fall. Feel better!

  3. MarthaE

Oh – how cute the royals look! Our weather was cooler this week too – at least in the mornings.
I’m glad you are getting through with audiobooks.
Hope this week picks up for you and you find a book that gets you out of the funk.
    Happy Reading!

Ugh, I have to go to the dentist tomorrow but it’s been forever so I guess it’s a good thing. lol The cooler weather was really nice, but it’s definitely getting hot again!

Aww the Royals are adorable. ^_^ Not many books added to your shelf this week. Hope you enjoy the one you got. I’m excited for my son goes back to school this week starting in 1st grade. Ah they grow up so fast. Have a great week and Happy Reading!

  6. Anne

I like the cooler weather. It’s nowhere near the cold weather I got when I lived in Minnesota, this cooler weather is the good stuff 60s and 70s, even 50s is good if not too windy. We had a couple gorgeous 80 degrees, sunny and cool north breeze days. But we’re back to 90s this upcoming week.

Magic Triumphs!!! Yay. I read it and now I listen to the audio. It is a best book forever. I hope you have a great reading week. Anne – Books of My Heart

The royals are so cute. Dental surgery SUCKS! I take something before every visit, even it it’s a cleaning. Dentist are evil. LOL

  8. Stefanie

Hi. Your grandkids are adorable! Yeah, 69° is also cold for us here. I’m sorry you had to have some dental surgery. I hope you are healing well and smoothly.
And sorry about having to find me. I figured you had read everything already and I haven’t published anything lately because I’ve been busy being a mum. And sorry, I get lazy when having to fill out my 411 every time when I’m catching up on your blog. I figured it was no big deal.

  9. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

Sorry to hear that the funk is still hanging around and about the dental surgery! I can’t believe how chilly it’s gotten there! Granted I’m a wimp when it comes to temps so I’m not sure if that’s really considered chilly. The Royals look super cute in their winter coats! Have a great week!

Yep, wild cool and wet weather here, too, but August shook it off and we’re back to the steam and heat. LOL Cute with their bare toes and the coats.

    Have a great week, Kimberly!

  11. Sophie

It’s been a weird weather week here too! Fall like and all . But the grass and cows needed some rain so much so I am not complaining 😉

  12. Jovita @ Inky Impressions

Ah the Royals are lovely with their winter coats. In my area school started the first week of August, but the children also get a two week Fall break at the end of October. I’m thankful that my children are older and I no longer have to deal with drop-off lines.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.

  13. Mary @StackingMyBookShelves!

It was a weird weather week for us too. The Royals are soo darn cute. My kids start back tomorrow and I go back the following week. I find I am looking forward to it. Have a great week! I can’t wait to read your review of Tessa Dare!

I wish the weather here was like that. It’s still in the 100’s. It’s going to be a while until I get used to the desert climate again. I hope you are able to get out of the funk soon. I hate it when I hit a reading/blogging slump.

Yes! I just mentioned the weather in my Sunday Post as well. It’s been warm during the day but as soon as the sun goes down, it’s chilly! It feels like fall!

  16. Stormi Johnson

It’s been a totally weird August which has me worried about winter! We are usually in a drought in Aug and we have gotten so much rain to make up for the drought in July! 🙂

Have a great week an happy reading!

No rain here, but our nights have been dipping down lower than my liking. It definitely has cooled off the pool, and I doubt with less than a week left in August that it will bounce back. Ah, I guess it’s that time. I came home from the lake to yellow leaves on the ground. The change in weather has been abrupt!

I’m not ready yet for back to school. I haven’t done any shopping yet, and I’m still painting my younger daughter’s bedroom. By the end of the week, I should be ready!

Have a good week! That picture is just too cute!!

Barefoot and winter coats! Too cute! It’s been pouring down with rain here and actually pretty chilly outside too. We ended up sticking the heating on the other night! Where has the summer gone? 🙁

  19. Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra

It was a weird weather week here as well. Some days still felt summery, but by and large, it felt like fall, which has made our outdoor projects, etc a lot more enjoyable than they might otherwise have been.

    The Royals are absolutely adorable!

I hope that the funk won’t hang around much longer and that you start feeling more yourself again.

  20. Natalie @Natflix&Books

It was fairly cool in the mornings the last couple of days, which was awesome. It’s supposed to be pretty hot this week, though. Sorry to hear you are still in a funk. Hope this week is better!

  21. Amy Jackson

The weather has been odd here too! It was beautifully sunny yesterday but it feels like we’ve jumped to November now because it’s cold and rainy. I hope it settles down soon.

    Have a great week!

  22. Jessica @ a GREAT read

We had a bout of nice weather this week too…that promptly ended once the weekend started! Now we’re back to summer and I miss the little taste of cooler temps. They weren’t quite fall, but they were at least a break of 90+ and humidity! Lol!

Nice new read! It’s totally new to me but I hope you will enjoy it!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

It felt more like fall here this week too, but I am kinda happy with the cooler temperatures. Sorry to hear about your dental surgery and that the funk continues. That’s fun the royals played outside with their winter coats on, but with bare fete. Have a great week!

  24. sjhigbee

Urg – dental surgery… This hasn’t been your year, healthwise, has it?? I love the pic of the children playing outside in the rain – it takes me back to when my twinkles insisted on bare feet/sandals and coats. It’s been a lot cooler here, too. And the number of berries already ripe on the trees and bushes has come as a shock, too. I think we are also in for an early autumn. I hope the coming week is an easier one and that perhaps you’re in for a bit more sunshine before the winter closes in, Kimberly

  25. Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books

I don’t dare read your thoughts on Magic Triumphs until after Tuesday. It’s so close now! But so far…

The picture of your grandkids in their coats is adorable. I love kid logic… Bare feet + Winter coat = happy.

  26. Jackie Briere

I’m amazed at how many books you review in a week. I am hard-pressed to finish one book review!
Kingdom of Needle and Bone Hardcover is $40.00????!!! Ahh no. Am I assuming you got a copy given for review by Subterranean? Anyway, your royals look adorable in their winter coats. The little one looks like he’ll be outgrowing his jacket pretty soon. lol

  27. Tressa @ Wishful Endings

We had rain too and a drop in temps that I wish would stay, but we’ll be warming back up for the rest of the week. It’s been a weird year for weather all around honestly. The Royals are so adorable! Makes me miss when mine were that little. They grow up so fast! I hope you figure out your funk or that this week goes at least a little better!

Eek! Hope the dental surgery went well! I wish we had fall weather over here, I’m desperate for Autumn and all the things it brings to come back finally (well, maybe not the colds and flus). Also the faces on your babies – too dang cute, I just want to squeeze them up!

  29. JJ @ This Dark Material

Sounds like my kind of weather to be honest, although I doubt we’ll see it here for at least another month. I hope you’re recovering well post-surgery. Fingers crossed some sunshine comes your way this week!

Oh my gosh, Kimberly! The Royals are entirely too cute! Of course you need your winter coats with flip flips! Lol!

I’m picking up Magic Triumphs tonight and I CAN’T WAIT!! I’m super excited but also a bit sad that the series is ending! I’m crossing my fingers for a companion series with Derek and Julie! 🙂

  31. Greg

Hey who needs shoes when you have a big coat on, right? Ha ha the weather’s been weird here too, not really cool per se but cooler than usual for end of summer! Oh well. Usually I’m roasting this time of year.

Hope you’re feeling better, have a great week!

  32. Laurel-Rain Snow

Oh, lovely photo of the children! Enjoy the new week, and I hope your weather is more to your liking.
