Earlier this year I read and enjoyed the first novel in the Mind’s Eye series about psychic detectives Levi Wolf and Trudy Tucker. In Through His Touch, their relationship continues to grow as someone is killing off women in Levi’s life. Heavy on romance and Levi and Trudy’s romance this romantic paranormal suspense was engaging with fleshed out characters.

Better Homes and Hauntings by Molly Harper
I have always wanted to try one of Molly Harper’s books and when the chance to review Better Homes and Hauntings audio arose, I jumped. I love paranormal woo-woo with haunted houses, family lore and island settings. Harper offered up a simple, entertaining tale that will have you rooting for the characters and wanting to defuse a ghost.
Allegiance by Susannah Sandlin
Allegiance is the fourth novel in Susannah Sandlin’s Penton Legacy series, and I was eager to get back to this small-town and its characters. Sandlin’s paranormal romantic suspense series has been intense from the first book, with fleshed out characters, and an action-backed plot. While Sandlin does a great job of filling in the details, I highly recommend reading the Penton series in order. Each tale continues the overall arc and tells the story of one couple. Allegiance grabbed me from page one, and had me holding my breath, swooning and laughing.
Waking the Dead by Heather Graham
Waking the Dead is the second book in the Cafferty and Quinn mysteries by Heather Graham. We meet this duo in the first book, Let the Dead Sleep and I was excited to team up with them again. Set in New Orleans former police detective Michael Quinn and gifted shop owner Danielle Cafferty must uncover clues and protect the city from evil. Mini review: a thrilling mystery with a motley crew that drew me in and held me captive.
Spirited by Mary Behre
I love romantic suspense, and when you mix in a little paranormal woo-woo, this girl gets excited. Spirited is the first novel in the Tidewater series by new to me author Mary Behre. Spirited delivered a murder mystery with likable characters and ghostly communications. Mini review: an exciting start to the series, with murder, romance and a little heat.
Grave Destinations by Lori Sjoberg
Maybe I am creepy, or maybe I should blame Darynda Jones but I have a thing for Reapers. Grave Destinations is the second book in the Grave Series by Lori Sjoberg. Her twist on why these souls are reapers, combined with suspense and romance have made this a fun series. Each can be read as a standalone, but each time we learn a little more about Fate, and the organization running this elite team of Reapers. Mini review: spicy but clean, suspenseful and action packed.
Pretty When She Destroys by Rhiannon Frater
Pretty When She Destroys was an exciting, powerful conclusion to the Pretty When She Dies series by Rhiannon Frater. I love Frater’s dark and gritty take on paranormal romance and the fleshed out, vibrant and fresh characters she creates. I devoured this and was sad to say good-bye to this trilogy. Three word review: action-packed, awesome and addicting!
Darke London by Coleen Kwan
Darke London by Coleen Kwan is the first novel in the Uncanny Chronicles and offers a nice blend of historical romance, suspense and steampunk. With its colorful characters and heated romance, I quickly devoured this tale. Three word review: engaging, original and fast-paced.
