Bring Me Home For Christmas
by Robyn Carr
Series: Virgin River #16
Publisher: Harlequin

This year, Becca Timm knows the number one item on her Christmas wish list—getting over Denny Cutler. Three years ago, Denny broke her heart before heading off to war. It’s time she got over her silly high-school relationship and moved on.So she takes matters into her own hands and heads up to Virgin River, the rugged little mountain town that Denny calls home, as an uninvited guest on her brother’s men-only hunting weekend. But when an accident turns her impromptu visit into an extended stay, Becca finds herself stranded in Virgin River. With Denny. In very close quarters. As the power of Christmas envelops the little town, Becca discovers that the boy she once loved has become a strong and confident man. And the most delicious Christmas present she can imagine.

As with any of Robyn Carr’s books I pre-ordered Bring Me Home for Christmas. The Virgin River series is one of my all time favorites. I have a fondness for it that can best be described as, “that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you slip into your favorite comfy jeans and snuggle up to the one you love on a cold lazy Sunday afternoon.” If Virgin Rivers was a real place, I would move there. The scenic beauty and the caring families who reside here have found a little slice of heaven on Earth.

In Harvest Moon we briefly met Denny Culter who has begun to set up a life for himself in Virgin River. A few years ago, Denny lost his Mom, dumped the girl he loved and reenlisted. After returning home he was confused, lost and trying to get over the biggest mistake he had ever made; breaking up with Becca. Denny has finally found a home in Virgin Rivers and invites some of his buddies up for a week of camping and fishing. He is shocked when Becca walk through the door with them.

What unfolds is a delightful tale that only Carr can deliver. The characters she has created in Virgin River will touch you and the stories will make you laugh, cry and feel good. The relationship that rekindles between Becca and Denny is warm and genuine The chemistry between them is hot, but Carr delivers it in such a way, that even the most delicate of readers won’t be offended.

All of the Virgin River series can be read as standalone. I personally feel you would be missing out on what makes this town and its stories so special. The first book in the series is entitled Virgin River. Her next book in the series Hidden Summit is scheduled for release on Dec 27, 2011. Fear not dear reader, I have already pre-ordered my copy.

I highly recommend Bring Me Home for Christmas to anyone who loves contemporary romances, small towns and chick-lit.

I gave this book 5 coffee cups out of 5.
