Jamie Owens doesn’t trust women. Especially not the rich, entitled women looking for a summer fling with a boy from the wrong side of town. But one look at Kylee Jensen in a tiny bikini, and Jamie decides that some rules are made to be broken.

Kylee is tired of being the obedient daughter, and Jamie—shirtless, in a tool belt—is the perfect opportunity to do something for herself, so she hires Blue Bay Construction to work on her cottage. Their hot summer days turn scorching until it’s revealed that Kylee has ties to Jamie’s dark past, forcing them to decide if their dreams, and their relationship, are worth fighting for.

Leveled is a steamy page turner with sizzling emotional intensity and an ending that will hammer readers’ hearts and never let go

ROMANCE Small-town hot Brothers

Leveled by Cathyrn Fox is the second book in the Blue Bay Crew series about brothers who return home after their father passes to save the family construction business. Each features a brother and their romance. Fox delivered a quick, sweet and deliciously hot story that will melt your Kindle.

Jamie Owens is a tattoo artist, who left NOLA and returned home to Blue Bay. He hasn’t been home since an incident left him shaken to the core and unable to trust women. As the story begins, he is working on a roof, trying to ignore Kylee Jensen who at the moment is sunning herself next door in a tiny bikini. It looks like he will be successful or at least he was until he hears cries for help and thus our story begins.

A heated, affectionate romance with tender moments and character growth turn a summer fling into something more in Leveled.  I enjoyed learning Jamie’s story. I felt for him, and despite its short length, Fox managed to convey all the feels and depth of character. Both Jamie and Kylee aren’t following their dreams, although Jamie hasn’t abandoned his. He intends to open a shop locally. Kylee is being strong-armed by her father, but summer in Blue Bay may just give her the courage she needs. The romance is heated and takes up plenty of page time. It’s the perfect romance to devour in a single evening.

The Owens’ grandma continues her meddling ways, and I loved getting updates on the other brothers.  I am a sucker for brothers and loud, loving families. I  enjoyed the banter and antics of the Owens family. Meals there are never boring. They may be from the wrong side of the tracks, but they are all heart.  If you’ve read book one, you are in for a treat. We are rewarded with some updates on the first couple, and it was filled with gooey moments that made me smile.

Leveled delivered another feel-good romance and I look forward to the next brother’s fall story.

I’m a sucker for series that follow families – especially brothers – so this one hits the mark there. I also am a fan of meddling grandmas! Ha! This one sounds like a fun read and I don’t think I’ve ever read Fox so now I have a reason to check her out. 🙂

Thank you for your review. I like contemporary romances and this one sounds just the way I like it!

Well that cover would certainly sell the book ;O). Thank you for being curious enough to Google that Chinese color superstition. I had learned about it via a blogger in China who had commented on a green hat I was knitting. I think women can wear green hats, but I tend to avoid it.

I like the sound of the meddlesome Grandma! Hope you are hanging in there and feeling getter soon.

Awesome review, Kim. One of the reasons I love small town romances is the families featured in them. Like you, I also love loud, big families along with their antics. Glad that you enjoyed this book. Thanks for sharing. ❤️

I hope you’re getting better, my friend. Take care. #hugs
