Audiobook UNIQUE SNOOZER CREATIVE

The Little Elephant Who Wants to Fall Asleep: A New Way of Getting Children to Sleep by Carl-Johan Forssén Ehrlin intrigued me with its sleep technique, so I decided to review it. Soothing narration shares the story of Ellen the Elephant using soothing voices and light music to induce you child to drift off to sleep.

I kept falling asleep…lol! The CD is clever, and admittedly, as I listened, I yawned, relaxed and yes even began to drift.

This story is available in both book and audio format. I would imagine the book to be quite boring for an adult to read. Along with its predecessor Rabbit Who Wants to Fall Asleep, the books have been translated into forty-three languages.

Ellen, the elephant journies through a magical forest and along the way, meets woodland creatures who are sleepy. The narrator uses a soft voice, emphasizes key “sleep words” that are designed to make you yawn, relax and eventually fall to sleep. Think about those noise machines with ocean sounds adults use to drift to sleep. This uses some of the same techniques. You almost begin to feel hypnotized.

If getting your child to sleep is a nightmare, I would try The Elephant Who Wants to Fall Asleep. I recommend the audio version. It is available on CD or at Audible. I think reading the book would be quite boring. The story has keywords meant to induce sleep, so the story itself isn’t anything exciting, and the topic of being sleep and drifting off are prevalent.

The CD contains instructions and the story itself in two versions. Fred Sanderson narrates the first version and Kathleen McInerney the second. I preferred listening to Fred, but really, it will be up to your child to decide whom they prefer. If you lay with your child as they listen, be warned you may fall asleep yourself!

Audiobooks were always my go to when my son was still awake after two books at bedtime. This one would have been perfect! Thanks for sharing your review Nona! 🙂

What a timely review. My families ( work as an educator for at-risk families with children up to 3 years old) were just discussing nap time and the bedtime battle at night. I’ll have to suggest this.

Something my niece could well do with to lull her three to sleep. In fact I’m sure it might even do the trick with me. 🙂

This sounds lovely. I listened to the sample and I think it’s brilliant. The voice of the narrator is soothing and all the coaxing. LOL I love it. With grandchildren times two, this should come in handy.

Is it ok that I wanna read this? If the story has keywords meant to induce sleep, that might help me . . . Lol It seriously looks and sounds adorable! 🙂

This looks adorable. My SIL would love this for her son, Going to have to tell her about it as she’s always reading to him but she just had another baby last month and needs something to read to him in her place for when she’s super tired.
