It’s the unofficial end of summer & a three day weekend. We are doing weekend DIY projects and I am tinkering with my new phone. The screen cracked and chipped on my old phone last week. Ok, so I dropped it at the YMCA on the concrete pool area. Even with the case, the corner cracked and chipped, but during the week spider cracks began creeping up the screen. The phone is only two and half years old, so I looked to fix screen and was quoted $340.00. Are you kidding me? Thankfully, my provider had a fantastic trade-in deal. They gave me $800.00 (even with cracked screen) towards my new phone.

Despite reading/listening to seventeen books, I am still seven books behind on my Goodreads Challenge. 127/200. As for my Audiobook challenge, i am sitting at 83/100. I am hoping my annual read-a-thons push me to meet my goals. The Fraterfest Readathon sign up posted and I hope you’ll join in the fun.

On the review front, I am making progress! This week I finished listening to two of the six reviews I am need to write. I actually have sixteen posts scheduled. I am thinking I’ll be caught up by next week if all goes as planned. At this point I am writing reviews for the end of September and into October.

Stay Caffeinated.

Enjoy the new phone and glad you were able to get such a good deal on the trade-in! I’m looking forward to your review on the Sarah Addison Allen book. Have a wonderful week!

  2. vidya

That is a cool deal indeed for a trade-in!! have fun with the new phone.. I know I spent time tinkering with mine when I got it a few months ago 🙂 I didn’t join any reading challenges this year since I read but basically am horrible at keeping track..
Good luck with your challenges (always in awe of those who do keep track!!)

I can’t quite believe we are at the end of the summer already… I hope your long weekend is a productive and relaxing one, in amongst the projects you have planned, Kimberly.

I just got Love on the Brain with my September Audible credit. Can’t wait to listen! I am always ready to get a new phone shortly before my 2 years runs out every time. I think they always bring the new iphones out a couple months before my renewal every time, lol. I’m so done with summer weather, hoping for fall soon! All the Blood We Share is on my TBR, hope you enjoy it!

I hope you have a great weekend and get some time to relax. I am feeling a bit more caught up although I have a couple books to finish and review for this week yet. eek. It’s easier with ebooks as I usually get them farther ahead. Audios sometimes are only available at the last minute which is more problematic.

Yay for making progress on your reviews! And I am sure you will catch up on your Goodreads challenge. I’m ahead on my GR challenge, but well behind on actually getting reviews written.

I’m sorry to hear about your phone, but at least you were able to trade it in and get a new one.

Have a good week, and enjoy your new books! I’ve been eyeing Grace Draven for a while. Her covers are gorgeous, but some of them sound a little dark for me. What do you think of the Fallen Empire series?

You have a busy weekend ahead. I can’t believe I am ahead on my GoodReads Challenge because I feel like I am reading so slowly.

    Have a fun week!!

  8. Jill

I’m behind on my goals too, but October and December are usually my two big reading months 🤞Have a great week!

  9. Wendy

I’ve been doing the same, reading and writing reviews and scheduling posts in advance. I like to be 3 – 4 weeks ahead. Enjoy the long weekend, Kimberly

Phones are crazy expensive and repairing them is so expensive. It is good that you were able to get a new one. Nice new reads this week! I am really looking forward to All the Blood We Share and Raven Unveiled. Have a great week!

  11. A Voracious Reader

This year has just been a bad reading year. I’ve done 30 books so far. 30!! I have a few more reviews to write then I might be caught up. Happy progress my friend!!

Just this week I took my daughter’s phone to a local repair shop and had her screen replaced for $120 (iPhone SE 2020). Hers was a mess! But I was glad I could get that done for a decent price. I’m sad it’s the end of summer, but I’m ready for my kids to go back to school.

Sorry about your phone, but I’m glad you managed to get a good trade-in deal.
Well done for getting through so many books already. I know you’re a little behind target but I could only dream of those kinds of numbers! I’ve also fallen terribly behind with reviews.

  14. Lola

Sorry to hear about your phone, but yay for that good trade in deal. I hope you can get caught up on your reviews that need to be written. I set my Goodreads goal always on the low side so I guaranteed hit it. I think a few more reads and I am there. I hope you’ll reach your goals. Have a great week!

  15. Sophie

I fear the day I’ll have to replace my phone! I’d love an Iphone but the prices are totally insane!
Good luck with your challenges and reviews Kimberly!

  16. Jessica @ a GREAT read

That’s a bummer about your phone but glad you got a good deal for the new one! My family and I always wait to upgrade. We still have the iphone X so we’re a bit behind! Lol. But the phone still works, so why bother? Glad you’re making progress on getting your reviews done! Hope you can get caught up on your challenges too!

Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

That’s a pain about the phone but good thing you got a good deal on a new one. 16 review posts scheduled is amazing! Happy reading this week and yay for Fraterfest Readathon!

  18. Emily @Budget Tales Book Blog

What a nightmare with your phone. I hate getting new phones and trying to navigate my way around them.

Have a good three day weekend and I hope that everything goes to plan and your reading/reviewing gets done.

Sorry your phone got chiped Kim! At least you were able to get a good deal on a new phone, because we really can’t do without our phones anymore.
I’m way behind on everything this year. Reading goals, review writing, and blog hopping. I don’t even have a Sunday post, but I wanted to stop by and say hi.
Have a great rest of the weekend, and a wonderful week ahead.

That’s cool that the provider gave you a good deal. I hate it when the screen cracks like that… especially when the phone’s not very old. Good luck with reviews. I can’t believe we’re into fall already (not officially maybe ha ha but once it hits September it feels like fall, at least to me).

    Happy LAbor Day 🙂
