It was the last full week of summer vacation for the Royals. They start back to school this upcoming Wednesday. They are both excited. We had a heat wave hit and while the Royals are on the mend, I sadly got their crud and have been miserable. Headache, unproductive cough, clammy… just yuck. No Covid, though, so there is that. I mostly watched movies and listened to a twenty-four-hour audiobook. With no kiddos to watch over the weekend, I am cuddled up, drinking tea and hopefully writing this weeks reviews. Stay Caffeinated.

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear you got the crud from the kiddos. Once it’s back to school, it seems the germs are very happy. Feel better soon!

  2. Katherine

So glad you are taking time to rest and recover! Audio books are just magic when I’m sick. I hope you feel better soon and the Royals have a great first week at school!

  3. Ethan

Sorry to hear you’ve been sick this week. That’s no way to spend the last week of summer break! I tested positive for COVID last weekend, so I’ve been resting in bed for most of this week. Thankfully the symptoms are starting to subside, so I hope to be a little more productive in this second week of quarantine.

Sorry you are feeling cruddy, but I’m glad it’s not Covid! Feel better soon, and I hope the Royals have a terrific school year.

I’m looking forward to reading your review of The Secret of Bow Lane, but I want to finish writing mine before I read anyone else’s!

Wow, school time already! Poor you, wishing you well. Fun book haul. I got Signal Moon and Love on the Brain, too.

    Have a good week, Kimberly!

I hope you feel better soon, Kimberly, it sure is terrible to be sick in a heat wave. Back to school already! I hope they enjoy their new teachers and classes too.

  7. Lola

Sorry to hear you got a heat wave and that you’re not feeling so well. I hope you’re doing better soon!

  8. Jodie

Back to school time! Lots of excitement for the coming school year. I hope you feel better soon . A 24 hour audiobook – I hope it was great at that length! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

  9. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Oh no! Sorry to hear you got the crud! But glad it’s crud and not the other C-word! Wow, school is starting all around! My niece doesn’t go back for another two weeks still. Hope you feel better soon!

Nice new reads! I still need to get going on Darynda’s novella series! I have the first two lined up on my kindle with the third one preordered and ready to go once it releases! Perhaps I’ll try reading them this year! There are just so many books I want to read but I can’t seem to get to them all!

    Happy Reading!

We’re heading back to school next week too. My two high schoolers are not excited at all, lol. Hope you’re feeling better soon. Enjoy your relaxing weekend!

We were hot here, too. Hopefully, if the forecast is correct (LOLOL), we’re dropping to the 80s next week. I hope you feel better soon!!

We are going on week 3 of the second last term of the year. I always find it so strange how the school years differ around the world. You’ll miss the royals, but peace and quite is also welcome!

Have a good week and happy reading!

Wow that summer seemed to go quick! My partner’s school finished a couple of weeks ago and then he will go back in September. I keep getting colds. My son is about to start school so we have taken him to a local children’s centre to get him mixing and he just keeps bringing stuff home! Luckily it hasn’t been covid yet which considering the UK is going through a bad patch I am surprised (but relieved!).

    Get well soon.

Aw, hope you feel better. I hate being sick in the summer. Not feeling good plus the heat… not fun. Hope you’re having a relaxing weekend. And back to school already! Summer is flying by…

How is it almost time to go back to school? The summer flew by, didn’t it? In fact, the whole year is doing that, too.

    Your weekend plans sound good.
