We traveled to Santa Fe, Roswell, Albuquerque, San Antonio, Lafayette & New Orleans before heading home with a stop mid-way in Arkansas. We ate good food, soaked up history and walked a lot. So much so I developed a large rash between my knee and foot that burns and itches. Google Disney Rash…women over fifty are prone to it. So I am to keep it elevated. Apparently I aggravated it, because I kept walking on it for seven days. Pfft. Stay Caffeinated.

Sorry. I just found this in my email. Disney Rash huh? I know when I went to New Orleans I July it was so hot I about had heat stroke. I developed something on both my upper legs that could only be soothed by baby powder. I couldn’t walk because it was so painful. I’m glad it got better!

  2. Jinjer

Disney rash!!!!! Something else to look forward to. eyeroll

  3. Ailyn Koay

oh no, should i be wary if I ever go to disney? or it’s like… they sell meds for it? PS i do know you are joking

It is also known as golfer’s rash. No meds, just elevate and rest. Mine only burned and itched because I continued to walk on it for over a week. Now that I am home it is fading. I used cold compresses and cortisone.

Sounds like a wonderful trip — other than the rash. I hope it clears quickly.
I have Soul Taken on my watch list.
Have a good week and Happy Reading!

  6. Wendy

Wow, what a trip! I’m so glad all went well and you got out and got to eat. I had to google Disney rash! I hope it clears up soon.

  7. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

Sounds like a wonderful trip, although I’m sorry you ended up with a rash! I hope it clears up soon. I’m glad you got to visit New Mexico. I have family there, so we have visited the state often. Santa Fe is a wonderful little city, isn’t it? So many art galleries to explore. And Albuquerque is fun, too. Did you get to take the gondola up to Sandia Peak?

Have a great week, enjoy the enforced relaxation time with your leg elevated (more time to read!), and enjoy your new books!

  8. Sophia Rose

Sounds like a wonderful road trip and I like the idea of good food and interesting stops to see. Bummer about the rash. I’d not heard of it before.

    Have a good week, Kimberly!

  10. Sophie

Disney rash??? What does Disney has to do with rash LOL. Well I am sorry you have a rash but glad that it seems you enjoyed yourself a lot!

  11. Anstice Brown

I’ve never heard of a Disney rash. Hope it clears up soon. It sounds like you had a good time away despite that.

  12. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Glad you had a nice trip! But bummer about the rash! That stinks. Hope it clears up soon!

Nice new reads! Seeing a bit of Mercy Thompson book today! Hope you enjoy both of your new reads once you get to read them!

I’ll have to find The Gecko Without an Echo, since we have three geckos at our house!

And Disney Rash – my friend gets that all the time and has since she was 30. It is so crazy! I wish there was a way to avoid it! I hope you are doing better.

  14. A Voracious Reader

Glad you had a wonderful trip! What the flock is this Disney rash?! Women over 50, like us, sure do get the weird shit. But we carry on. 😀 I hope it goes away soon.

  15. Cassie

Eating good food, soaking up history and walking a lot sounds pretty much heavenly to me. Although the rash less so – rest up and I hope you heal swiftly!

  16. Katherine

Sounds like such a fun trip though I am sorry about the Disney rash! Keep it elevated and hopefully it gets better soon! Have a wonderful week!

  17. Greg

Wow that sounds like quite the trip. I want to go to New Mexico at some point. And Disney Rash- how annoying is that? It sucks getting older. 🙂 Anyway- hope you guys had a great trip (sounds like you did). And ooh a new Mercy Thompson!
