Nutty weather again this week. I am hoping spring settles in soon. We ordered replacement windows…15, to be exact. If you’ve done them, you know what kind of check I wrote. Holy shit. I need to hunker down and write the reviews for this week. I keep falling asleep after dinner and then on Saturday I cleaned & did laundry while binge watching season 2 of Bridgerton. We had some fun with Hazel (the one-year-old) hiding the TV remote. We spent most of Thursday locked on the Disney channel. Sophia was recognized as a VIK (Very Important Kid) this week and got to eat lunch with the principal in the library. She was recognized for her kindness to others. We were very proud. Elbow hugs! Stay Caffeinated.

Oh my, I still need to binge watch Bridgerton (and overdue on binge-watching Marvelous Mrs.Maisel too)
I did get to do some Tolkien reading this week (though not the heavy weights! Found some short stories to read)
That is a lot of windows to replace! And kudos to Sophia..

  2. Lorna

Way to go Sophia! I hope that teaches other children that not only is it good to be kind but there’s other rewards as well sometimes. Glad you found the remote! I can only imagine how expensive it is to put new windows in. Hope you are having a good week. It’s freezing here and I’m not getting far from my space heater. Plus regular heat is on as well. The horrible wind is the culprit. Brrr

  3. Katherine

That’s wonderful about Sophia! I don’t envy you the window replacements. I know we have that coming up in the next few years and I’m not looking forward to it at all! Have a wonderful week!

  4. Tyler H. Jolley

Awesome to hear about Sophia (and how fitting they ate in the library!) I have replaced windows, and yeah, that’s not a fun check to write. Hope you get them soon and the installation is smooth!

  5. MarthaE

I hope the window project goes well. I can imagine it is pricey!
Congrats to Sophia – kindness should be recognized and celebrated.
    Nice reading week for you.
I guess Kim Harrison decided to continue the Hollows series? I have a couple to catch up on.
Have a great week and Happy Reading!

  6. Wendy

Congratulations to Sophia! A kindness award is so special. I finished Bridgerton season 2 and loved it. I just love those dresses and haristyles! I hope you have a great week.

That’s one of the only things I like about apartment living. I don’t have to pay for things like that. lol
In 2020 I have the AC replaced, the Hot water heater replaced and a pipes installed under the kitchen sink. That would have been expensive if I had to pay for it.

  8. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

Windows are expensive. I’m not looking forward to redoing ours, eventually, though thankfully we have fewer. But there’s other work to do on our house, first, from the deck to the floors.

Congratulations to Sophia! Kindness is indeed a virtue worth cultivating – and honoring.

Hi Kimberly! First of all, I big thank you for the shout out last week for my Wondrous Words meme. I didn’t get to thank you then…

Did you enjoy Bridgerton Season 2? I plan on starting this week.

Love the idea of a VIK project. That’s awesome!

I hope you will have a good week and get some time to catch up with the reviews. I am in the exact same predicament….

    Lots of Love,

    Mareli & Elza

Yep, it’s a big check to replace windows, but it makes such a huge difference! We did ours last year along with our sliding glass door and I love it! We just sold our house so if the windows are old at whatever house we end up at are old we’ll be writing another check, lol! What a nice thing to be recognized for: kindness. We need more of that! Have a lovely week, Kimberly!

  11. Nicci

oooh, I hope you enjoy the new Hollows novel!

New windows isn’t something I’ve had to face down since buying my house but I remember my parents getting new windows installed when I was a kid and not believing how expensive they were! At least they last a LONG time and are ultimately worth the investment!

I’m saving Bridgerton for when I have a day off all to myself. I plan on not moving and binging the lot. 🙂

I love the VIK idea, how cool for Sophia. We replaced windows in our first house several years ago so am familiar with that big check and I am sure it is even more now. Hoping for some nice weather for their installment.

It’s been warm and sunny here this week 🙂 Mother’s Day today so it’s gone cloudy with a bit of a breeze. We still ate ice cream though 😂 I’ve seen a bit of the first episode of Bridgerton. My son likes to make noises so I can’t hear it. Nightmare! It may take me a few months to get through 😂.

    Have a great week 😊

Love the VIK thing! So cool! I’m in the midst of Bridgerton season 2 myself. I haven’t read past the first book, so not sure some things people don’t like are bothering me, but now I really want to read the book because it sounds so good compared to what the show is, of course. Weather here has been up and down but we’re getting to more spring weather thankfully. Have a great week!

Love hearing about little Hazel and Sophia, the VIK! Well done!

15 windows…I don’t know how much a window costs, but I can imagine. Ugh. But it will be worth it in the end, I’m sure, but still!

  16. Sophia Rose

What a special moment for Sophia! LOL, Hazel the hider. Neat to see an full cast audio of Innkeeper.

    Have a good week, Kimberly!

  17. Jessica @ a GREAT read

A few years ago my parents replaced the windows in our house. I think it was about 10…plus 3 midgy basement windows. I forget what those teeny tiny ones that don’t open and no one could ever fit through in an emergency are called! And that was pretty pricey too!

Nice new reads! I also got Kim’s new book and I am super excited to read it as I love her books! Hope you enjoy all of your new reads!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

Oh, yes, I do know what kind of check that was. We just replaced 15 windows on Feb 1st (ordered Sept 7th) and we’re still waiting on the bathroom window. The new one came with a bent frame. But I really love my new windows! Congrats to Sophia! *high fives*

  19. Sophie

OMG you must have been so proud of Sophia! Being recognized for her kindness is amazing! I too fall asleep early on!

  20. Lola

We have had some beautiful and consistent spring weather these past two weeks, but I am sure that won’t last much longer. Rain is on the planning for next week. That’s awesome Sophia got recognized as VIK. I hope you get around to writing those reviews soon.

  21. Stormi

I am reading for warmer weather with no storms, storms are the only part of spring that I am not a fan of!

  22. Bookworm

I can just imagine about the windows. Congrats to Sophia! I need to start watching season 2 of Bridgerton. Happy reading this week.

  23. Mia @ Genre Books and Me

So cute to hear about the grandkids! You’re a good Nana (Nonna) to watch Disney all day. It comes with the territory. I hear you about windows– it’s exactly why we are not replacing our windows anytime soon. Hope the longer days help with your tiredness. Have a good week!
