We had to pull out the hats & mittens this week. It dropped down into the low 40s and mid-50s this week. Which isn’t too bad, but when you go from high 60s and factor in the wind this Nonna was shivering! I am still nursing a sinus infection but enjoying the readathon. Elbow hugs! Stay Caffeinated.

Isn’t it funny how cold these temps feel when the weather starts to change? And then, at the end of winter, you get the same temps and they feel positively tropical! 🙂
Kimberly
Yesss! This is 100% true, I’d be wanting to pull out my flip-flops! Gads, I am so dreading winter thought!
Tyler H. Jolley
That dang wind can take a pleasant 50-degree day to a sunny, but chilly 35. it’s always the worst in fall and spring for me. But I’m loving the foliage. The mountains are so pretty this time of year. Have fun with your readathon!
Lorna
You all keep your cold weather for so long and then it starts back up really early. I personally would love it as long as the gas and electric stay on. Our winters are getting so mild now and I’m not a fan. Sorry to hear you still are sick. Is your little guy feeling better now? Hope so!
Mareli @ Elza Reads
Hi Kimberly|! I love this time of the year when there are so many fun readathons. It’s about 18:00 here in SA now and I don’t think I’ll manage any more reads for the Fraterfest! But I had loads of fun. Thanks for hosting! I am going to try to enter for the Ho-Ho-Ho Readathon too. I haven’t done that one yet, so it will be brand new to me. Just need to get a couple of Christmassy books to read first…..
Have a good week ahead!
Anstice
Sorry to hear you have a sinus infection. I suffer with my sinuses too and I think it’s one of the worst kinds of pain. Nearly as bad as toothache! I’ve had a sore throat and headache for the last few days and I’m taking lateral flow tests daily as my daughter has already tested positive for Covid. I hope you feel better soon.
MarthaE
I can imagine bundling up is in order. Our office had sniffles from the cold change.
I have been enjoying Fraterfest this week.
Hope you get to feeling better. Happy (and/or spooky) reading!
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
Brr, that’s quite a drop! Hats and mittens are a good idea. It cooled off a little here; we’re now in the 60s during the day. I’m still wearing short sleeves (because hot flashes), but I’ve started adding a thin cotton hoodie over that, or tossing a handknit scarf or shawlette around my shoulders. Pretty soon, I’ll be able to break out the handknit socks and the sweaters. I love fall!
Enjoy your new books. I’ve noticed that you’ve steadily making your way through the Annette Marie books, which is a pretty good endorsement! I have the first one, and look forward to reading it sometime (soon, I hope.)
Feel better, and have a warm and cozy week!
Jen at Introverted Reader
My husband and I pulled out the fuzzy blankets a few nights when we dipped into the low 50s/high 40s. I hope you recover from your sinus infection soon.
Enjoy your week!
Katherine
Yuck on the sinus infection – especially when throwing in the temperature drop! I like cooler weather but honestly don’t see why it ever needs to get below 60! Have a great week and feel better!
Vi @Inkvotary
Get well soon with your sinus infection. Happy reading.
vvb
Keep warm and well with your current reads 🙂
Mary Kirkland
Our overnight lows are dipping into the 50’s finally.
sjhigbee
Yes… it’s become colder here too. Though it’s more about the windchill as we’ve had some stormy weather and it’s now blowing from the north! Winter is definitely tapping on the windows… Have a good week Kimberly:).
sherry fundin
it has cooled down here a bit, but caps and mittens…
Wendy Williams
Love at First Spite looks really good. I’m looking forward to your review of that one.
bookworm
I hope you’re feeling better. I did get cold! Enjoy your reading this week.
Sophie
I really hope your sinus infection will get better Kimberly! Also we do neets scarves and mittens here too!
Anne - Books of My Heart
Chilly is good but I hope your sinus infection is over quickly. The weather is gorgeous here 60-70 and I hope it lasts another month.
Jamie @ The Fantasy Princess
I haven’t had to get out my gloves yet but I did get to finally wear a hoodie. So finally some Fall weather! Hope you have a great week!
Rachel
It’s been sunny and nice for us, but currently we’re having a big rain storm. I love the rain, but driving home probably won’t be fun! Stay warm, Kimberly!
Jan @ Notes from a Readerholic
Sorry you still have a sinus infection, Kimberly. Hope that gets better soon. I’m glad you’re enjoying the readathon.
Have a good week!
Melanie Simmons
The temps are dropping here in Ohio too. I’m loving that I can sleep with the windows open. I sleep so much better when they’re open. Have a great week
Lori Caswell
I hate this cold weather. Thinking about the heating bills just makes me cringe. I wish I could pack up and move south but those darn grandkids keep me here. LOL
Happy Reading today!!!
Jinjer
Sinus infections suck but hats & mittens weather + readathon are totally my jam.
Emily
It’s getting colder here but not quite hat, gloves, scarves and when the sun shines it can actually be quite warm! Looks like you have done well on the reading/audio book front! Get well soon ☺️
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
Love at First Spite is on my TBR as well! It got cold enough here I pulled out a jacket one morning. But I’m rarely a mitten person, it’s got to be because I have to clear snow off my car in order to do that, lol. Ugh about the sinus issue. Hope that goes away soon!
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Our temps dropped a bit as well, but not that cold. I think we were in the 60s last week. Today, we’re going to be almost 80 and then go back to 60s tomorrow. So the head cold I think is struggling to start might get its chance then! Hope you feel better soon!
Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
SJ
It’s getting colder here too! Not quite hat and gloves but we did get the jackets out. Hope you have a great week!
Lori
I hate this time of year, when you need heat in the morning, AC in the afternoon, and heat again in the evening.
S. J. Pajonas
It got chilly here too. I have this big tub of hats, scarves, gloves, etc and it really needs to be sorted and culled. I thought I would have more time before the seasons took a turn but no. I hope to get around to it later this week.
A Voracious Reader
Ramping up the {{{posivibes}}} to get the crud gone. Weather is a tad cooler here, but not too bad. Yet. lol
I can’t wait to read The Crystal Druid and Trailer Park Trickster!
Sophia Rose
Yeah, the temps dropped off here and we got our first frost so had to turn on the heat. Everything is looking fall-ish and now hopefully the trees will start to turn with the cooler weather. I’m enjoying the RAT, too. Hope you feel better, Kimberly!
Shelleyrae @ Book’d Out
It’s the opposite here hot and humid with summer storms
Stay warm x
Wishing you a great reading week
Lola
It got a bit chillier here as well this week. Sorry to hear you still have a sinus infection. I hope you feel better soon!
Harvee
Every now and then i get in the mood for a romance like the book you have. I should read more and fewer of the psych thrillers I also like!
Deb Nance at Readerbuzz
I hope you kick that sinus infection soon.
jessicabookworm
I also had to break out my winter coat and ear muffs this week! 🥶 I hope you feel all better soon and continue to enjoy your reading. 🙂
El
It truly has been a chilly week here as well to the point where I’ve had to get that extra blanket out of my closet.
Kelly Lyn
It has started to get really cold during the nights again where I live. stay warm and kick that sinus infection’s butt!!!
Tessa
Love at First Spite looks cute ☺️ Hope you feel better soon!

It’s cooled off here too. It’s 37 now as I write this (brrr!) and more coming! Definitely feels like fall now. 🙂
