This was another busy week, but we’re settling into a daily routine. Both the Royals love school and I am enjoying some one-on-one time with Clayton in the mornings and Hazel in the afternoons. The week ahead is my long week.
The summer is rushing by, especially with the kiddos in school. I have to remind myself we still have some summer left. The stores are filled with Halloween stuff and gads, even hints of Christmas. Ugh. Elbow hugs! Stay Caffeinated.

Fall is my favorite season, and I’m so excited for all the various events and things coming up. However, I do want summer to stick around for a bit longer -I still need some more pool days!
Lorna
I can’t wait for fall weather. We’re hotter than Florida right now and I don’t want to cook or do laundry in this heat. I know you are enjoying those little ones when the others aren’t around. Have fun and stay safe!
Lauren @ My Expanding Bookshelf
I definitely agree that summer is going past far too quickly. I’ve not seen any Halloween things in shops yet (but it’s not as big a thing in the UK), but I have noticed that the supermarkets have started to get the Christmas sweets/candy in.
Tyler H. Jolley
I agree this has been a crazy-fast summer. I bet you’re really enjoying the one-on-one time with Clayton and Hazel. Have a great week, Kimba!
Patricia
As usual, you hosted a fabulous party! Thank you so very much!
Katherine
One on one time is so great and I’m sure they enjoy it just as much as you do! I’ve gotten so detached from time and dates it seems crazy that we’re crashing towards the end of August. Have a great week!
MarthaE
I’m glad the Royals are enjoying school. I feel like summer is winding down although we actually have several more weeks of the season and another month at least of the weather.
I like the cover of the Wish Hunter.
Happy Reading!
Emma @ Words And Peace
Lots of nice reading here! I haven’t entered a shop since the beginning of Covid, and I certainly don’t miss all the commercial stuff around Halloween or Christmas!
Erin M Beard
I am trying to keep present in summer, but I do find myself wishing for fall! Lol.
Anne - Books of My Heart
I’m hoping for the cool down that come with fall and back to school. We are staying home more with the cases rising and wearing masks if we have to go somewhere. I also got Hellbound Guild – I love the Annette Marie books!
Jinjer
I have mixed feelings about the holiday stuff on the shelves. On one hand, I hate that they cram the holidays on us so early and all together like that, BUT I was very happy to see the Russell Stovers chocolate marshmallow pumpkins!
Sophie Eloy
It seems that every year Halloween and even Christmas decorations show up sooner Kimberly! We don’t see them here yet but I fear that once September will be behind us I’ll see Christmas too 🙂
sherry fundin
well, another week has gone by and i too feel the summer is passing much too quickly. glad you are enjoying your time and getting a jump on that holiday reading
Mary Kirkland
The halloween stuff seems to come out sooner and sooner each year.
M. Ravenel
I always get giddy when I see Christmas decorations. LOL
Glad to hear your summer is going well!
Joanne @ Jhohadli
Your little ones have school in the summer?
Sophia Rose
I always equate start of school with end of summer, too, though yes, technically, it is about a month left. Neat how you end up with time with each of the younger grandkids. I’ve seen fall decorations on sale since July and it is weird.
Have a good week, Kimberly!

Enjoy what’s left of summer and happy reading.
Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books
I’ve noticed Halloween and Christmas seeping into stores already too. It’s small scale at the moment but it’s only going to grow from here! :/
Have a good week! 🙂

Good to hear you are getting back into a routine and the Royals are enjoying school. I hope you are able to savour the last few days or so of summer. ?
Mareli @ Elza Reads
Oh my greatness! Do I need to start planning for my Halloween reads? Are we doing a readathon???
Have a good week Kimberly!

Glad to hear the Royals are enjoying school. I’m fine with closing in on the end of summer. I’m not a fan of the heat. I’m picking up Uncharted and Maple Leaf Harvest soon. I’ll visit your posts are soon as I get mine up. Happy reading Kimberly!
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
I’m glad the Royals are enjoying school, and you are enjoying time with them.
As for Christmas in the stores… yes, it’s way too early for that. Even the Halloween stuff probably shouldn’t go up until September. (Personally, I don’t usually decorate for Halloween/fall until the first week of October. Our weather still feels like late summer well into September, and I just can’t see putting pumpkins out until it’s cooler.)
Jen at Introverted Reader
How nice to have one-on-one time with the Royals.
Enjoy your week!
Tammy @ Books, Bones & Buffy
I’m seeing lots of Halloween stuff too, although thankfully not Christmas yet. Hope you have a good week!

Could I have Summer without the excessive heat and humidity please? lol I’ll always be a Spring and Fall gal.
Victoria A Hamel
Sounds like a really nice rhythm to the school days. The Wish Hunter looks good!
Juli @ A Universe in Words
Although I love Halloween I do swear it keeps moving earlier and earlier! Glad everyone is enjoying school and elbow hugs all around! Thanks for hosting and have a lovely week 🙂
Lisa Mandina
Glad that the Royals are enjoying school so far! We haven’t officially started till Monday, but I’m already exhausted at my new job. I’m just hoping once the year gets going I’ll get a bit of a break.
Lori Caswell
I agree the summer is just zooming by. My grands head back to school tomorrow. Hope you have a great week!

I wish summer would last forever. Sigh.

Enjoy your week. i live in a university town so the start of school means lots of craziness!
Jan @ Notes from a Readerholic
I find it hard to believe school has started so many places and that it’s almost Labor Day! Have fun with the Royals!
I hope you have a good week with lots of reading and fun Royal time!
Natalie @Natflix&Books
Today is my last day of freedom – sobs. While I know it’s not true, I feel like it’s fall once school is back. I’m ready for it to be cooler (bit not cold). Happy reading!
Lola
That’s good to hear you’re settling into a daily routine and that the royals are enjoying school. Enjoy your new books! Wish Hunter sounds interesting. I already read Hellbound Guilds & Other Misdirections and I thought it was another great read. i hope you’ll enjoy it too. Have a great week!
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Glad the Royals are enjoying school! That’s always nice to hear from the kiddos! I’m envious your stores are putting up Halloween stuff! I was looking high and low for it this weekend, but alas, I didn’t find much. I did see some at some shops in the historic district I was visiting yesterday and bought a cute little wooden sign for myself, among other jewelry pieces. Lol.
Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones. I hope you enjoy them all!

Our summer generally lasts through Halloween here in Texas, so I like the hope that fall is coming.
Whitney
Summer is going by way too fast! I’m ready for the cooler weather though. I hope you have a great week Kim!
Tanya @ Girl Plus Books
I saw Halloween stuff at the store yesterday. And I’m seeing bloggers and vloggers talking about fall reading and fall favorites and I’m like, uh, it’s mid-August. LOL Still plenty of summer left, especially here in FL!
Dianthaa
I alternate between “I’m so done with summer” and “noooo summer is ending” about 5 times a day, I’m just too fussy about heat to bear it, but I’m fussy with cold and rain too. Hope your week goes well!
Laurel-Rain Snow
Your weeks do sound very busy! And this whole year has been speeding by.
Enjoy your time with those kids…and your books!
Tessa
Once school starts, the rest of the year seems to fly by. I guess because we all become so busy. I hope you have a wonderful week!
Yvonne @ Socrates Book Reviews
Hard to believe it’s almost the end of August already, but even harder to believe I saw Halloween decorations in the store. Way too soon!
I hope you have a great week!
Greg
I tell myself everyday how is it late August already? Fall stuff is rushing towards us it seems like. School starting, first school football game next week. Geez…
Glad that school started well!
Have a super week Kimba!
