Covid cases are spiking again. It looks like the Royals will need to wear masks again for school this year. I am hoping we don’t end up shutting down again. We bought masks and even though we are vaccinated; we are wearing them again since we want to protect the grandchildren who are under twelve. Elbow hugs! Stay Caffeinated.

our schools are reopening here next week with an updated mandate.. and masking is still required everywhere indoors…
here is keeping our fingers crossed that this shall pass
Carla
My grandkids are the same here. They will wear masks and they cannot get vaccinated yet. Our cases are also going up. Enjoy your upcoming books, Kimberly.
Tressa @ Wishful Endings
I’ve been a bit sad about COVID numbers going up. I’m hoping this is the last big wave and it won’t keep being so crazy. We’re all vaccinated too except for my youngest who I’m a bit worried about with school back in and them not requiring masks. Last year when they didn’t require them the last two weeks she got sick within a week and had croup (something she is very prone to). Anyway, hopefully we’ll all make it through okay. It’s been forever since I’ve stopped by and participated, so I’m glad to hear you seem to be doing well! Hugs.

We’ve had a spike in Florida too. Locally they say it is the unvaccinated. Thank goodness for therapeutics that are being so successful.
A former employee’s daughters, 7 and 5, had Covid a week or so ago. Pretty much cold symptoms.
The Eric Carter books look good. Stay safe and Happy Reading!
Cheryl @ I Heart Fictional People
Covid cases are increasing here too. My daughter isn’t old enough for the vaccine, so I’m worried about her starting school this week, but I’ve taught her how to be careful.
I have heard SO MANY amazing things about Billy Summers. I need to get my hands on that one. Hope you enjoy it!
Patricia
Thank you so much for hosting such a great link up party!

it truly sucks that cases are spiking again. Like I am not ready for covid 2.0. Especially for all of those that have vacinnated, that was the point. I especially feel for the kiddies who have to wear them. Let hope that it doesn’t last too long.
ShootingStarsMag
Covid cases are going up around me too. It’s very frustrating. I’m vaccinated, but I know people that aren’t…and I worry about them. I worry about myself too, because I don’t want to get sick again.

We are back to masks here too and are definitely dropping the small amount we were going out. I hope the Royals’ school stays open. It sounds so stressful to kids and families when schools shut down all of a sudden. Have a great week!
Erin @ Cracker Crumb Life
These cases are so frustrating. 🙁 We are wearing masks again too, especially as good models for our kiddo who is under 12.
Kelly Lyn @ Lifestyle of Me
The governor of my state.. SC. is forbidding the school systems for requiring masks and threatening to cut funding. and we hit over 3,000 cases a day last week.
Lauren @ My Expanding Bookshelf
Fingers crossed the covid cases start dropping soon! We’re still wearing masks in Scotland, but the majority of other restrictions will be stopping tomorrow and I’m so uneasy about it.
Sophie
I hope we won’t get back in lockdown again Kimberly! I think (hope) with the vaccine and mask we could keep things under control. Stay safe!
Sophia Rose
Yeah, guess it’s going that way again with Covid. Hopefully, school will go straight through.
Have a good week, Kimberly!
Anne - Books of My Heart
yes we’ve continued to be careful wearing masks when we go out. But we have gone out a bit more and I am starting to rethink about how much we can pull back again. Sigh. So many don’t seem to give a flip about anyone else including those under 12.
Stay well! I hope you have a good week!
Wendy Williams
We’re all back to wearing masks here too. I’m glad I don’t have school age children or grandchildren to worry about. Although I do enough worrying about my adult children anyway! Have a great week!
Rachel
I’m bummed about the resurgence of Covid cases! I’m concerned about my grandkids as well since they’re too young for the vaccine, too. Stay safe, Kimberly!
Natalie @Natflix&Books
Yep. Back to teaching in a mask. As long as I don’t have to do hybrid again, it’ll be fine. I can’t wait to get King’s latest. It’s in transit for me in my library system. Happy reading!
Lola
That’s good you’re masking up. I only recently got my second vaccine and still wear a mask when I am in indoors places with other people. I hope you can protect your grandkids, it’s scary that kids are getting sick now with this delta variant :(.
sherry fundin
we are back to wearing masks and staying in our bubble, even though we are vaccinated too. i feel for those with young children.
LORI CASWELL
Vaccinated and masking up here too. Have 4 grand under 12 and my immune system is comprised from the cancer of last year. I wish people would just get vaccinated and call it a day. It saves lives!
Berls
I’m glad y’all are masking up – this Delta variant is hitting even the vaccinated. My brother, his partner and a good friend of mine all have it and are all vaccinated. It’s scary and I’m actually kind of hoping we do shut down because Dante is too little to get to wear a mask and if we shut down I can keep him home and safe again. I’m so scared for him. Stay safe <3
Lisa Mandina
We are back to masks as well where I live. Like you I’m hoping it doesn’t get so bad we have to shut down. Although we have gone back to masks, but they intend to do school as normal other than that I guess. No making sure students are necessarily 6 feet apart, etc. I’m guessing that would happen before we start doing from home again. Who knows. Have a good week!

Been eye-ing the new Stephen King. Enjoy.
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
Covid cases are rising everywhere, including among the vaccinated. It’s very worrisome. We were planning to drive out to see Robin and my parents this fall, but now we are reassessing that decision. I don’t want to give it to my elderly parents. While I know it’s not fun for the kids to have to wear masks, I hope your school board is sensible and requires them. (Unlike the board in our count. [rolls eyes]) It’s pretty clear that masks in school cut down on transmission.
How is your knee doing? I hope you’re seeing at least some improvement. Have a good week (despite the masks!) and happy reading!
Mareli @ Elza Reads
Hi Kimberly! Even though we’ve been vaccinated, we still wear masks and I still work behind screens at school as well. Like you say – the kids are not vaccinated yet and we try to protect them.
You got some really great books! Hope you enjoy them all!
Elza Reads
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Yeah our news was saying the schools will be requiring masks again. I had really hoped we’d have a better handle on Covid by this school year.
Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones. I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

I am so sick of Covid. Sigh. We could have been done with this already if more people had vaccinated. 🙁 I just bought MORE masks for the coming school year. I still have one kid who can’t vaccinate yet.
Jennifer | Book Den
We are wearing masks, too. Not many people are here and it’s frightening.
A Voracious Reader
Even though we’re fully vaccinated Trip and I continue to wear masks. I just don’t trust that everyone not wearing one is vaccinated. Sad to say but it’s true. Anna stopped wearing hers, Kyle wears his at work still, and hubby finally agreed to get vaccinated. I’m not even going to talk about his views on things. It’s so frustrating. Anyway, I hope you all stay safe and we can avoid another lockdown. Even though we haven’t really changed our pattern when it was lifted. Again, I don’t trust people. lol
Tessa
I hope schools don’t shut down and go all virtual again either. I just finished The Perfect Family and oh, boy are you in for a crazy treat. ❤️

Sorry to hear cases are going up in your area. Here in the UK it seems to be stagnating and also it seems (so far) that the vaccines are working, since there aren’t many hospitalisations. Hope things will improve soon!
Vi @Inkvotary
Our cases are rising again here too. Wearing a mask is never wrong. I do it indoors no matter where I go and where I know many people are. Have a great weekend and stay caffeinated *smile*
Hannah @ Dragons and Whimsy
Glad to hear you’re keeping safe. There are also a lot of reports of vaccinated people getting ill with the new strains of it so certainly worth keeping masked up for a bit yet. Scary times.
Tanya @ Girl Plus Books
Cases in my area are off the charts – worse than it’s ever been. My county is actually making national news. Go us. Ugh. Stay safe!
Juli @ A Universe in Words
I’m also still masking up even though I just got my second vaccine, you never know who it might help safe! Fingers crossed for no more major shutdowns. ‘The Perfect Family’ sounds like my kind of book, I’m going to have to look that one up! Thanks for hosting and have a lovely weekend 🙂
Juli @ A Universe in Words
Jen at Introverted Reader
We’re masking up again even though we’re vaccinated too. And thinking hard before entering indoor spaces. *sigh* I don’t mind masking up for the young kids but adults who just refuse to be vaccinated for no good reason? Their attitude is getting old.
Enjoy your week!
Yvonne @ Socrates Book Reviews
Covid cases are spiking here too. We’re back to wearing masks even though we are vaccinated. Your books look intriguing. I hope you enjoy them and have a great week!
Laurel-Rain Snow
I hope you all stay safe, and I’d rather keep wearing masks than to take chances.
Enjoy your books. I am eagerly awaiting The Perfect Family.
Greg
We’re still masking too, although at the moment our school district is sticking with masks being optional. We’ll see if that changes now that the CDC is starting to recommend masks again. so much variation and uncertainty. I hope school starting goes well for the Royals!
