Heat Wave…. but I am not complaining. I will melt over freezing any day. I cannot believe it is August already. The Royals start school on the 11th. Sophia will be in 1st grade and Clayton will attend afternoon preschool. I will be busy playing taxi in between work. We celebrated our youngest 27th birthday. We had a wonderful time. During the month of July I read/listened to 14 books and reached 121/200 for my Goodreads challenge and 75/100 for Audiobook Challenge. Elbow hugs! Stay Caffeinated.

Elbow hugs to you too! And it is wonderful to see time passing in school years always!!
In a couple of weeks, my younger one will be a sophomore at high school and a month after that, my older one will be heading to college as a freshman… time flies..

The title The Viscount Made Me Do It tempts!! I might end up reading it soon

  2. ShootingStarsMag

Happy belated birthday to your youngest! It’s crazy that school is starting so soon for kids. My nieces and nephew don’t go back until the end of the month, but my youngest niece is going to school for the first time!!! I think she’ll love it, but I’m nervous for her too. hah

  3. Raji

The summer does seem to be flying by so fast, but I’m enjoying the heat while it lasts since it’ll be freezing again here in no time at all! Thanks for featuring my post about greek mythology based books!

  4. Lorna

I’ll take freezing over heat any day of the week. I hate summer! I’m glad you had a nice birthday for the 27 year old. How’s your leg doing?

  5. MarthaE

Our community schools start again on 8/10. I imagine playing taxi is a mixed blessing as a grandmom. I always enjoyed time in the car with my kids… short rides anyway.
Looks like you’re on track for your Goodreads goal.
Your new books look good. I like the Gilded cover.
Have a good week and Happy Reading!

  6. A Voracious Reader

They’re getting so big!! Kyleigh will be in the 2nd grade and Boone starts Kindergarten. That just leaves Oliver at home. *sniffles* And then my daughter will start her program on the 16th. Maybe I should continue with one of my degrees. Not sure what I’d do with a BA in English or BS in Criminal Justice though.

How is it August already? And if yiu have a heat wave we have rain and cold. No summer at all. I hope we’ll get a great Fall 😉

  8. Wendy Williams

It’s been cool here in Northern Arizona for most of July due to lots and lots and lots of rain! Not complaining at all. I can’t believe it’s time for school to start already. I hope the kids can have a somewhat normal year this year.

  9. Jinjer

I’m the opposite. Give me cold, gray, dreary, wet weather over the heat any day. lol

Man…school starts so early now! “In my day…” we didn’t go back until Tuesday after Labor Day.

    Have a great week!

Me too! I would take the heat over freezing all year long. I can’t believe school is starting so soon. This summer has flown by way too fast. I want to pump the brakes and slow everything down.

  11. Sophia Rose

We were lucky and got a cool front come through after some sweltering heat. It blows my mind how time flies and wow, two more weeks until school and taxiing. Glad you had a lovely anniversary. Nicely done with your reading and listening knowing all you had going on.
I scored the Donna Grant one, too.

    Have a great week, Kimberly!

  12. Jessica @ a GREAT read

I am the complete opposite! I’d rather freeze than sweat because with freezing I can layer up and fight the cold. There’s no fighting heat. Only suffering. Lol.

Nice new reads! I read Gilded not too long ago. But I’m still trying to figure out if I read the whole book or if it was an extended sampler and they didn’t tell me because I’m still reeling over the ending! Lol! Hope you enjoy the new reads!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

Sorry to hear you’re in the middle of a heath wave. Happy birthday for your daughter, I hope she had a great celebration! Sounds like you’re doing well with your reading challenges. I hope you have a great week!

  14. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

It’s hard to believe your grands are that big already! Happy birthday to your youngest. And hopefully things cool down a bit where you are! It’s going to be cooler here this week — low 80s, which is a distinct improvement on 90s. I’m looking forward to it. Heat and I do NOT get along.

Your “link to one of my blog posts” widget is trying to link to comments, rather than posts, which is wierd. So i’ll try putting the link here: my Sunday Post.

I am also stunned at August being here already, too! I am looking forward to that book Apples Never Fall.

Enjoy your week and your books, and you had an amazing July.

  16. Katherine

Happy birthday to your youngest! I hope the Royals have a great school year though I find it hard to believe that Sophia is going into 1st grade! The Liane Moriarty book is on my TBR. It looks so good. Have a great week!

  17. Greg

Wow- August. It is hard to believe. Happy birthday to your youngest! It’s been a little muggy here too, but then today was beautiful. It’s been unseasonably mild for most of July here, which is weird.

Anyway- hope you have an excellent week!
