Wow, we have had record-breaking highs all week. I love the heat, but it was too hot for T-ball practice or playing outside until Friday. Even then we couldn’t stay outback long. I am lagging in the review department and have reached an all-time low in my scheduled posts. Yikes. I had to sit down and write some reviews on Saturday. Between my knee, vacation, watching 3 kiddos, and my work I am finding I fall asleep super early and I’m not power reading. Elbow hugs! Stay Caffeinated.

We had that heat as well and then a cold snap arrived. Brr, turned on the heat this am to take the chill off. Weird weather. Hope this week finds you catching up a bit.
Lorna
We had several really nice days without the extreme heat but it didn’t last. It’s been hot the last few days. It’s getting ready to storm here and then we go back to the 70’s for several days. Believe me, that’s not the norm for June here! Rain tomorrow as well as I go for my last dental crown appt. I think I need to celebrate! Hope you all get a break from the heat soon!
vidya
it has been very hot here as well and going to be hot again in the weekend.. and hopefully this weekend will be a little better so we can head out to the beach..
Tyler H. Jolley
Summer is such a busy time. Especially since your grandkids are getting older. I hope it stays warm but not too hot. We were at 110 twice last week. Killer. Have a great week!
Joyousreads
It’s been an exhausting week for me as well. But that’s because I don’t stop moving, running, and work and kids. Sigh. I need a vacation. But that’s not in the horizon anytime soon, unfortunately.
Well, I hope you stay cool, Kim. Happy reading!
ShootingStarsMag
You certainly have a lot going on! I’d be slacking on the blog too. Actually, I kind of am. LOL Ugh, that’s way too hot out. I’d need a pool or I’d be inside.
Alysia
Actually, I need to do some power reading this week. I (and Goodreads) feel like I need to be a bit further along than I am right now. Going to my TBR.
Cheryl @ I Heart Fictional People
The heat wave is here too! That’s why I spent my weekend in a pool haha
Melliane
Some intriguiguing this to read. Have a great week and happy reading!
Katherine
I could take some of your heat! I was hoping to take Will swimming but it hasn’t gotten out of the 80s and is just way too cold! It is no fun when it gets too hot for everything though. Get some rest! Have a great week!
MarthaE
It is hard to be out in that heat. And I can understand that watching three children would wear you out. Take it easy and take care of your knee.
I hope you get more reading and reviewing in. Have a good week.
sjhigbee
Urg. So sorry to hear about the intense heat – and the knee. Both tend to make looking after children something of an uphill battle, no matter how much you love them… I hope the coming week is an easier one, Kimberly:).
vvb
Enjoy your summer doings and happy reading.
Mary Kirkland
It was really hot here too. I hate the heat so will be happy when it cools back down.
Vi @Inkvotary
We went through our first heat wave of the year too. Welcome to the club of not much blogging *sigh* Happy reading.
Sophia Rose
Whew, yes, it has been sweltering out in your neck of the woods. Lots going on. Stay cool, Kimberly!
Sophie
Well as I am sleep deprived too there is no power reading for me either Kimberly!
Rachel
It’s been super hot out here, too! Over 100 every day and it just drains me. I haven’t had much energy for reading or blogging either. Stay cool, Kimberly! 🙂
Anne - Books of My Heart
I hear you. I get ahead a week and think I can read for fun and then I have no reviews finished for the next week. With the heat in July and August here, I don’t do outside projects as much so I am working furiously now to finish things up.
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
We had record breaking, or almost record breaking highs here too. It is not my time of year. I prefer fall and spring. Oh well. It is summer I guess. I am supposed to be getting a copy of The Sound of Violet as well. Hope you’re able to get some rest and get back into the swing of things. But I think the heat makes me more tired as well. Have a good week!
Victoria A Hamel
I think heat can really sap one’s energy. No wonder you are tired–also the healing of the knee. You still complete a ton of work. I was amazed that you kept up your blog so well when you all had Covid! I hope you have a nice week!
Deb Nance at Readerbuzz
It’s been hot here, too. We always have a nice breeze, though, and that helps a lot.
Lori Caswell
We finally had some rain here but it was still hot. You have had a lot going on so it is understandable that the blog suffers. Don’t feel guilty everyone will understand. (((hugs)))
Shelleyrae @ Book’d Out
It’s the opposite here..too cold and wet to be outdoors.
I wish I could get ahead on my schedule, I always seem to be just a bit behind these days.
Wishing you a great reading week
A Voracious Reader
I don’t know how you manage to do it all. I have reviews to write for books I finished weeks and weeks ago. :~O I’ll get to them eventually. I have faith you’ll get yours done much quicker than I will. lol Take it easy and rest that knee!
Natalie @Natflix&Books
It’s been beautiful in my neck of the woods the past couple of days, but I’m sure the heat is right around the corner. Happy reading!
Jinjer
There’s heat and then there’s TOO MUCH HEAT! lol I hope it is more in the “tolerable heat” range this week.
S. J. Pajonas
I am so exhausted by the end of every day and I still sleep terribly. I hope you’re getting more sleep than me! It was hot here as well this week. I’m ready to spend all my days at the pool. 🙂
Lola
We had a really warm week here as well. It’s annoying when it’s so hot you can’t do much. That’s nice you got some reviews written. I hope you’ll have a good week!
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Yeah we’re having some hot days here this week too. Humidity too so it’s been awful. Being outside almost hurts.
Nice new reads! Those are some new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

Mareli @ Elza Reads
Hi there Kimberly! Life has been a bit hectic on my side as well and I don’t even have the heat to blame. Sometimes you just need to take a bit of a break, glad to see you are asking for book bloggers to help a bit! I’ll keep an eye out for your review requests.
Take care of yourself!
Lots of Love,
Elza Reads
Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books
I’ve written one… Maybe two, blog posts in the past month. My head just isn’t in it. Actually, I can mentally write the blog post but when I sit down to actually write it? Nope! Nothing. It sucks. Lots of luck on getting some posts written this week! I hope the temperatures drop a little to something more comfortable.
Hannah
I love how your lagging in the review department is much than I could manage in a couple months, haha. Hope you’re able to get a little reprieve from the heat!
Tessa
It has been very hot! Too hot for just about anything. I’m sure you will get back to your normal rhythm soon, but it sounds like your body just needs some extra rest now. Hope you have a great week ❤️.
jessicabookworm
Kimberly, with all that going on, it is understandable that your reading and reviewing has gone down! We also had a heatwave but it has just ended and the rain has returned! Take care and happy reading in the coming week. ?
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
I hear you on the reviews and reading. I hope that improves for you this week. I’m having a hard time getting reviews posted, too. I have a backlog of notes for them. Maybe I can both can knock some out this week before my fiber conference starts.
I’ve been seeing and hearing about the heat wave in the West and Midwest. It sounds awful. I pray the heat breaks soon, and you go back to more normal temperatures.
Jen at Introverted Reader
One of my high school classmates moved to Wisconsin from North Carolina about two months ago. She loves cool, gloomy weather. Needless to say, she was not happy that they’re having record-breaking heat too. She posted that it was 86 degrees there recently and she doesn’t have air conditioning. I hope your temperatures drop to a normal range soon.
Enjoy your week!
Yvonne @ Socrates Book Reviews
It’s been humid and rainy here. It’s not as bad as some other places. I’m starting to fall behind on my reviews too. I hope this is a better week for you!
M. Ravenel
Hey! Take it easy. Don’t overwork yourself. It’s been record-breaking heat everywhere, it seems. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Happy reading!
Laurel-Rain Snow
We’ve had hot days, too, and I definitely avoid going out. My blogging has fallen off, too.
I hope you have a great week, and stay safe.
Maureen @ Maureen’s Books
That sounds much to hot for me! LOL! It’s been pretty hot here too, not nearly as hot as on your end, and I can barely manage ?
I hope you’ll get to your reviewing soon!
Have a great week and happy reading.
Greg
Hope you’re feeling better. It was hot here too for a few days then it kinda cooled down a bit. Hope your heatwave lightens up a bit!
My reviews have been down too. Must be summer. 🙂
Clare Mackintosh’s looks good… I had another of hers I wanted to try.
