So my knee has been bothering me and on Tuesday I carried trash out to the garage to place it in the can. When I stepped on the first stair, I heard a tearing sound and it felt like a knife had slashed through the back of my knee. The ER believes I have done something to the posterior ligament. I am scheduled to see an orthopedic specialist on Tuesday. For now, I have limited mobility. I’m wearing a leg brace and using a cane. Friday I dropped my mouse in about an inch of iced tea. We dried it, but no luck. I got a new one yesterday because that little pad on my laptop is EVIL!! On a cheerful note, Mr. Caffeinated and I get the first vaccine shot today. Our second is scheduled for June 6th. Elbow hugs! Stay Caffeinated.

Sorry. I am so behind. Whatever it was you did to your leg sounds like it HURTS! I hope you can get it all better soon. And yea! For getting your shots.
Melanie
I’m so sorry to hear about your knee, Kimberly. I hope it is something that can heal quickly. And yay for vaccine. I was able to get mine in end of March/early April. Sending lots of healing hugs.
S. J. Pajonas
Oh my goodness! You poor thing. I’m so sorry to hear about your knee. That is terrible news. I hope whatever it is heals quickly. <3
MarthaE
Oh – that knee injury sounds painful. I hope you get relief quickly.
Glad you are getting vaccinated.
Have a good week with good reading!
Tyler H. Jolley
I can totally relate to needed a proper mouse. If I try to use the pad during edits, I click five or six times trying to accept a comma. So frustrating. I hope you get good news at the orthopedist and no side effects after the vaccine.
Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
Wow, you just haven’t had much luck with health lately, have you? Hope your knee is good as new soon!
Joyousreads
Oh man, so sorry to hear about your injury, Kim. It’s one thing after another, isn’t it?
Lay on the couch and read to your heart’s content!
Lindsi Root
I’m sorry about your knee and your mouse! I hope the damage to your knee is minimal and easy to fix.
Yay! Your first dose. I’m sure that’s a huge relief.
Melliane
I hope your knee will be better soon. Take care and have a good week!
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
Oh, ouch! I’m so sorry about your knee; that sounds very painful. I hope they can get you all fixed up soon. But hurray for getting your first vaccine shots!
I need to pop over and see how you liked Hana Khan Carries On. I listened to a podcast interview with her (I can’t remember if it was on Smart Bitches Trashy Podcast, or Fated Mates), and the book sounded really good.
Jinjer
Oh man…that knee has gotta HURT. So sorry about that and the mouse. Hope the COVID vax goes well and you don’t have any side effects.
Anne - Books of My Heart
I’m sorry you had such a tough week. My daughter tore her posterior cruciate ligament skiing when she was a freshman in high school. It’s unusual. Athletes are always tearing their ACL (anterior).. She did 4 months of PT and the surgeon said it was better than most people after surgery and had her do 2 more months of PT. She also dropped 4 sizes doing PT.
Kimberly
Gads. I tore my ACL twenty years ago in the same knee. It has always given me trouble. I am hoping to avoid surgery too.
Mary Kirkland
I hope your knee can heal without surgery.
Anstice Brown
Sorry to hear about your knee. That sounds painful!
Jen at Introverted Reader
Oh no! I hope the news at the orthopedist is as good as it can be. That sounds really painful. But yay for your vaccine!
I hate the pad on my laptop too. I even get frustrated when I watch my husband using it. “Why aren’t you using the mouse?!?” He seems to prefer it for some unfathomable reason. I feel like it takes me all day to scroll around when I use that thing.
Enjoy your week!
Shelleyrae @ Book’d Out
Oh goodness, I hope that the injury is not as extensive as feared and you have a swift recovery.
Wishing you a great reading week
Jan @ Notes from a Readerholic
I’m so sorry about your knee, Kimberly. I hope the orthopedic surgeon can help. Take care and hope you have a great reading week!
Lisa Mandina
Aw! Your poor knee! But some good health news on the vaccination shot it sounds like. Hope you have a better week!
Angela (Angel's Guilty Pleasures)
Oh no your knee. I hope the specialist can help. Take it easy. Enjoy your book haul and have a great week.
Sophie
Oh Gosh Kimberly! You really had no luck this week! Except for the vaccine that is great news! Now I hope your ligament will heal fast because we use our knees all the time! Rest for now.
Penelope @ The Reading Devil
Oh shoot sorry to hear about your knee – injuries like that can be so painful 🙁 I hope the specialist has good news for you, and that it heals up quick! Hope you have a great week 🙂
jessicabookworm
I am so sorry to hear about your knee, Kimberly! I pray the doctors will be able to figure out what it is and help it to mend. ? And pleased to hear you’ve been able to have your first vaccination. ?
Marlene Harris
I’m so sorry about your knee. Knees are so vulnerable, but so necessary! So glad you’re getting your shots, though. It is such a relief to finally be fully vaccinated
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Oh no. I hope they’re able to help you out with your knee this week. But yay for the first vaccine! Sounds like it was a bit of ups and downs and this week. Hope this week will be better for you.
Nice new reads! Those are all new to me ones, I hope you enjoy them all!

Stormi Johnson
Ah man, sorry to hear you hurt your knee! Hope it’s something easy to fix!
Vi @Inkvotary
I am sorry about your knee. That is painful and nothing you want. Glad that you will get your vaccination soon. Here in Germany I need to wait six months after I had an Covid infection to get my jab. And then it is only one instead of two. So quite a bit different. Wishing you a s peedy recovery with your knee.
Kimberly
Here we need to wait 14 days if we did not receive any kind of therapy for covid> However my husband and I chose to wait until we A. tested negative and B. were breathing normally. Folks who received therapy need to wait 90 dsys.
Gayathri
I physically cringed just reading that. I dearly hope you feel better soon and please rest those poor knees. This has not been a good week at all for you. Stay safe and I hope it gets better.
Tessa
Sounds like what I went through when I tore my ACL. That is absolutely no fun! Hope the ortho can fix you right up, though I know I was in a leg brace for months. They get kind of itchy after a while.
So glad to hear you are one shot down! I experienced mostly maskless life for the first time yesterday and it felt so good. ❤️
Kimberly
I tore my ACL 20 years ago, and this is the same knee. It was never 100% after first injury.
Tessa
Mine is still weak too. I have to be near a rail when I walk up and down stairs just in case in gives out and it tends to get sore easily without any real provocation. Ah…knees, so necessary yet so frustrating ?❤️
A Voracious Reader
Holy shit! I cringed reading that. Owwwwwww! I hope the doc gets you on the road to recovery right quick. Yay for shots! We haven’t managed to get ours yet. I want the Pfizer and it’s pissing me off I can’t get them scheduled. Though Anna got her first one yesterday. We’ll see how she feels today. {{{posivibes}}} for good results on Tues.
Kimberly
Yep, that is the one we are scheduled for. I just kept calling around until I found it.
Deb Nance at Readerbuzz
I’m sorry to hear about your knee troubles. I hope the doctor is able to get things on the mend soon.
And mouse troubles, too. Frustrating!
But good news about the vaccine!
Mareli @ Elza Reads
Hi Kimberly! I’m so sorry to hear you’ve heard your knee! Hope they can help you soon.
I also still use a mouse and also think the little touch pad is beyond evil. The kids at school mostly use the touch pad though. Generation gaps!
Hope you will have a good week and take care of yourself!

Laurel-Rain Snow
Oh, wow, what a terrible time you are having! So glad you’re getting the vaccines, though. Stay safe!
Katherine
What a week you have had! I hope you are able to rest the knee and hopefully the orthopedic goes well. And hopefully your vaccine goes well. I fully agree that the pad on the laptop is evil. I don’t know how anyone manages to use it! I hope you have a great week!
Victoria Hamel
Oh my gosh.I hope the pain isn’t bad. First Covid now this- yikes! I hope the doc appt goes well. Big hugs!
Maureen @ Maureen’s Books
I’m so sorry to hear about your knee Kimberly. I hope it isn’t to bad!
I’m glad to read your getting the vaccine. I still haven’t received it myself but probably will before I’ll get back to work.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Yvonne
Oh no! I hope you aren’t in too much pain. Take care of yourself! Many virtual hugs to you.
Greg
Ouch. I hope you’re not in too much pain Kimba. I remember when I sprained an ankle one the popping sound I heard was awful. It’s funny how it can just happen out of the blue. Take care of yourself and congrats on the vaccine!
Be well!!
