LET THE MAGIC BEGIN!

Grooty Fledermaus made a promise to Katie and a promise from a special kitten such as Grooty, can't be broken.

So on this night, they are off on their first magical nighttime adventure! They end up in a place where Katie discovers, that while there, she has all of her previous health and energy.

BUT!

It’s not the only thing to be discovered, because while she and Grooty are having fun exploring, they startle a very mean TROLL who just wants to be left alone and might even have Grooty for his supper if he gets his own way!

Lucky for THIS Troll, Grooty and Katie know the value of friendship and they just might be able to stop a Troll-size temper tantrum before somebody gets hurt!

Grooty Fledermaus And The Troll’s Tears is the second book in the Grooty Fledermaus Series by D.L. Kruse. The Royals were excited to see this book arrive in the mail and quickly settled in to see what Grooty & Katie were up to.

For those who didn’t read book one, Katie is a very sick little girl with no hair who sits in a wheelchair and Grooty is a hairless cat with ears so big he looks like a bat. The two have become fast friends.

As Sophia, Clayton and even Hazel gathered round, we found Katie and Grooty tucked into bed. Soon they fell asleep and went on a magical adventure. In the dream, Katie could walk and had hair again. They landed in front of a beautiful bridge, but something jumped out from under the bridge and attempted to scare them.

Told in verse the series continues to highlight differences, address behaviors, and encourage friendship. This early reader is perfect for Sophia, who easily identifies site words and uses rhyming clues. Clayton loved the illustrations, and we paused often to answer questions. Hazel, the newest grandchild, enjoyed watching her cousins and we hope to share more stories with her.

The Royals love Grooty and look forward to more adventures with him and Katie.

This is such a cute book. It makes me so sad my daughter has grown out of these books. Oh well, I’ll look forward to grandkids sometime in the future (but not near future!)
