A slow building romance with secrets and suspense made The Devil in Her Bed by Kerrigan Byrne a delicious listen. Narrated by Derek Perkins, this is the third audio in the Devil You Know series surrounding the Red Rogues.

This story belongs to Francesca. She is high spirited, feisty, independent and determined to get justice for the family she lost. She has earned herself quite the reputation amongst the peerage. Particularly with the men. All say she is voluptuous and skilled, though few remember the details. But with each conquest, she becomes one step closer to bringing down the Crimson Council.

Chandler, The Devil of Dorset, has set his sights on Francesca. He is determined to unmask the Countess of Mont Claire, but alas, he may just have met his match.

This was quite the game of cat and mouse. I loved the dance these two played as secrets were revealed. Neither knows how to trust, and it was fascinating watching their barriers come down. With each encounter, Francesca surprises Chandler. I loved the battle scene between them.

Secrets, miscommunications, selfish pride and well Chandler caused some bumps along the way romantically, but these two had delicious chemistry and their responses felt genuine.

Francesca’s path to justice led her to some very dark and dare I say, kinky places. I felt the thread wrapped up well. This is the last book in the Devil You Know series, and we got some happy moments with the Red Rogues.

Derek Perkins’ performance was top-notch. His range of voices, both male and female, along with his pacing and tone, made listening to this story a pleasure.

Fans of historical romance, headstrong heroines and swoony heroes will want to add The Devil in Her Bed to their audio collection. While each of the books in this series can stand on their own, I do recommend you listen to them in the order of their release.
