Welcome November. In October, I read/listen to 29 books. I ended the month at 207/200 for Goodreads and 125/110 for Audiobook Challenge. I went with the Royals and their Mommy to get their flu shot. Clayton did well, Sophia … oh my. It didn’t take long before they were all smiles again. They were Bat Girl and Batman for Halloween. I am behind on writing reviews, but caught the first episode of season two of the Mandalorian. Is anyone else anxious about this week? Maybe I should switch to decaf for a bit. LOL Be kind, stay safe and Stay Caffeinated.

I’m so behind on visiting blogs. Probably just my mood. Or something. But I did save this to read. My email is unreal waiting for me to wade through it. Shots and children are usually not fun. I used to work in a pediatric clinic years ago. Brings back memories.
You’re doing great on your reading numbers. I think I’m at 156 of 170. Even though I read 202 last year I kept my number low this time. I’m glad I did because all the covid stuff has made it harder to get into reading- it’s better now-not so much when it first started.

  2. Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books

You had a great reading month! Hope you enjoy Damned Souls… I loved how the author ended the series. (But I’m so sad it’s over!)

Over here, kids up to about 11/12 get a nasal spray for their flu vaccination. I wonder why it’s actual jabs in other places? Anyway, I’m glad it went okay for the Royals. 🙂

  3. ShootingStarsMag

Aw, poor thing – I’m glad the flu shots are over and done with at least. I got mine, so cross that off the list. LOL

This is going to be such a stressful week. I imagine I’ll be watching lots of Christmas movies. LOL

Way to go on your challenges! Since you didn’t mention your knee, I hope it’s doing a lot better. I bet the Royals were adorable in their costumes. Did they trick-or-treat, or just dress up?

I am incredibly anxious about this week, yes. I’m going to minimize my time online if I can, and try to do calming activities like reading, knitting, and spinning.

Sounds like you are feeling better. I am glad you are getting to spend time with your family.
Congratulations on making your goal with plenty of time to spare.
I think we will be glad when Tuesday passes… let’s hope there is a decision sooner than later.
    Enjoy all of your reading!

  6. Nise' (Under the Boardwalk)

So hard for the littles to get their shots. Will be glad when it is all over so we can go into the holidays with less stress (let’s hope). Congrats on reaching your goal. With October’s reading, I surpassed my goal.

  7. Carla

I am always behind on my reviews Kimberly. I am getting excited about all the upcoming fun. I think The Last Bookshop in London is on a lot of shelves this week. I hope we all enjoy it.

  8. vidya

I caught up on Mandalorian too! but behind on reviews and visiting blogs as well.. so need to catch up this week

  9. Sarah

I don’t know how you balance life and reading. Already over 200 books and 2 months left in the year still, that is awesome! I’m struggling to get to 50 books read this year.

  10. Sophia Rose

I guess it’s a Sophia thing. I wasn’t the best patient for shots either at her age. 😉 Sounded like a fun Halloween. Way to go getting your two challenges finished early.

    Have a good week, Kimberly!

  11. Mary Kirkland

I remember having to take my daughter to get shots, not fun. We bribed her with going out to eat or the petting zoo afterwards when she got older and that always helped. lol

You amaze me with the number of books you’ve read Kimberly!!! And I will cross all my fingers and toes for your election! Have a good week and stay safe. xoxo

  13. Hannah

Whoa, congrats on surpassing that Goodreads goal! I’m still twenty books behind…haha. Hope you have a great (and safe!) week as well!

  14. A Voracious Reader

Hubby and I are going in a minute to get our flu shot. We’ll watch The Mandalorian today since we’ve been busy. I can’t wait! For The Mandalorian, not so much the flu shot lol I hope you have a great week, Kim!

  15. Ruby Jo

Next week is going to be brutal for everyone. Hopefully this will all end soon and we can go back to our regular lives. I am behind on everything, reading, posting, commenting. I am at least caught up on my shows, so that’s good. Decaf is something I wish I could use, but I need my daily fix, otherwise I am not human at all. Happy reading and have an awesome week!!

  16. Lola

Neat that you got so much books read/ listened this month and are doing well with your challenges. I see you got Damned Souls and a Sangria! I really enjoyed that series and thought it was a good ending to the series. i hope you’ll enjoy it. Have a great week!

Aww, my husband was a terror with them as a child. Agreed, too much is on the line and I truly feel like we are divided more than ever.

  17. sjhigbee

Aw… poor Princess! Eliza had a nasal spray for her flu vaccination – much better for the littlies! Huge congratulations on such an impressive number of books read and listened to during October:)). I hope the coming week is a good one, Kimberly.

    • Kimberly

Yes, those were easier, but now they get the shots. Although putting nasal spray up her nose isn’t any better..lol

  18. Angela

I feel like this election season has been so long, and now all of a sudden Election Day is just two days away! It’s crazy!

  19. Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms

I think most of the world is holding its breath for next week…
My family and I are still in quarantine / isolation, so we are just hanging out here, doing our thing. Today I’m devoting myself to vacuuming and ironing (thank goodness for audiobooks!!), and I’m going to go back the Rock Chick wormhole, as I need comfort as much as possible, and those books are it for me 🙂
Have a wonderful Sunday, Kim. Stay safe and healthy 🙂 *hugs3

I am praying. Thankfully work, family and the Royals will keep me busy..that and audiobooks. I tell myself I won’t glue myself to the TV on Tuesday, because we probably won’t have answers but I am probably fooling myself.

  20. Iza

The flu shots are important, this year especially. I’m sorry little Sophia didn’t like it :/
29 books ! Oh my ! Your “Last bookshop in London” looks interesting. I’ve borrowed a book at the library, “The book charmer” that I know absolutely nothing about, but the cover and the title were very engaging !
Have a great week – and yes, maybe decaf is a good option. Stay safe 🙂

  21. Jen at Introverted Reader

Poor Sophia. I had to get a second shot for some travel (remember the days when we could travel?) and I was at the health department with a tiny little girl getting some shots. That was *epic* crying. I don’t have kids so I’ve never seen anything like it. I seem to remember asking how many they gave her when it was my turn and they hadn’t even managed to give her one. She was so upset they had to send her home.

I’m excited to start the new season of The Mandalorian!

I don’t know whether to be excited that the election is almost over or to be scared. I just know that I’m really stressed about it. I keep reading that we probably won’t know the results that night. I won’t sleep a wink.

    Enjoy your week!

  22. Rachel

Oh shots for the kids are the worst! You feel so bad, but it’s for their own good. But still…

Yeah, I’m anxious about what happens too. I hope we don’t have a civil war or anything. I don’t remember things ever being so contentious in this country in the past. I just have to stop watching the news. It stresses me out too much.

Wow, you had a great month! Enjoy November…once we get past the anxiety this upcoming week brings.

Thanks for sharing, and stay safe and well.

  24. Greg

Happy Halloween! I am definitely nervous for this week. 🙂 Hoping for the best! And I really need to get Disney Plus, I keep hearing how good The Mandalorian is.

Take care and be well this week!
