Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.  See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

I have the best alarm clock. The Royals have been here with their Mommy all week because of a Covid scare at their Daddy’s. They are quarantining for 14 days and awaiting test results. So anyway, every morning my three-year-old grandson Clayton comes in my room and says, “Hey Nonna, get up the sun is awake!” He then lifts the curtains to show me said sun! Our staycation begins and I need it. I wish we were traveling, but it isn’t safe. So lots of hikes, home projects and unplugging! Stay Caffeinated.

Hopefully the Covid scare will work out to be just a scare. But until then it does sound like you have a very cheerful alarm clock! Enjoy your staycation and have a great week!

  2. Lorna

I hope you enjoy your staycation and the little ones. My life continues as a staycation but what can you do? Amazon is my friend. Between the 3 of us, we have boxes arriving at least 1-2 times a week sometimes more. Life during the pandemic!

And also I hope the scare is just that and everything turns out okay! I’m

I chuckled at your morning alarm. We managed to get the children not to come in and wake us but either my husband or I was the first ones to go downstairs to get the juice and start breakfast.
Ohh – I’ll have to look at Graveyard Shift!
Enjoy your staycation and Happy Reading!

  4. Greg

Aw that’s cute. Hope all goes well with the Covid tests- scary stuff. And have a great staycation! We just got back from camping and I was super leery of going, but we went and tried to avoid people as much as possible. It’s always on your mind though. Take care!

  5. Lover of Romance

I hope you stay safe and pass through this thing. But what a ALARM CLOCK!! Sometimes those staycations are very healing and just what one needs. Although I miss doing my summer vacations. Next year though. 🙂

  6. Anne - Books of My Heart

Yay for a staycation. It sort of feels like that all the time this year, except there is still all the chores. Still it is providing more time for reading, relaxing, and projects if I can focus. I hope you have a great time. It’s really hot here 97 with a feel of 105. It’s that time of summer where I don’t want to do things but have to do some. Have a lovely week! Stay safe and be kind.

  7. IntrovertedJen

That does sound like a very cute alarm clock! I hope the COVID scare turns out to be a false alarm. I’m quite a few books behind you in The Dresden Files as I’m currently reading Small Favor, #10. Enjoy your staycation and your unplugged time with your family!

  8. Lynn

That’s a great alarm clock, so cute!
I wish I could travel as well, but I’m trying to enjoy my staycation too. It’s definitely a new experience.
    Have a great week, Kimberly!

That COVID scare is ..scary Kimberly! I hope the results will be negative (meaning they don’t have it) because you are older than them and …more fragile (no offense intended as we must be around the same age)
    And staycationing for me too…sigh.

  10. Michelle@BecauseReading

OH No! I can’t take much more of this COVID! I want to stay in my house and never leave.
My kids are the opposite. They are up until late roaming the house which wakes me up and I have to get up early!

I hope this week is a good one! Enjoy your Staycation! Happy Reading! xx

  11. Lola

It’s too bad it isn’t safe to travel yet, but it sounds like you’re making the most of your staycation. I hope you have a fun staycation and spending time with your daughter and the royals. Sorry to hear about that Covid scare, I hope you’re all safe and healthy.

  12. Lillian @ Mom with a Reading Problem

That is the best wake up call! My little one isn’t so little anymore and so he doesn’t wake us up. Instead he sneaks so he can play his ipad before breakfast *shakes head* Staycations are the best! Hope you guys have a fantastic week!

  13. A Voracious Reader

Hopefully the quarantine goes well and the tests come back negative. Hubby tested postitive Friday so the rest of us are quarantining and awaiting test results. I feel like we’re sitting on a ticking time bomb. It’s so much fun. Not.

  14. sjhigbee

Lol… yes, I recall when my grandchildren woke me up like that – these days, it’s me trying to lever them out of bed! I hope you have a lovely relaxing staycation, Kimberly with the family and fingers crossed COVID-19 stays away from the family.

  15. Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms

I hope you’ll have a wonderful staycation, Kim! Your grandson made me laugh! My grandma always told me that when I was little, and I was staying at her house – she told me I could only talk to her in the morning after I had seen her open eyes… So, when I got too impatient, I opened one of her eyes and told her it was time to get up 😉
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading <3 Stay safe and healthy.

  16. Maureen @ Maureen’s Books

I’m so sorry to read about the Covid scare! How lucky that it is possible for your daughter and grandkids to stay with you guys though! 😉
I hope you’ll have a great time, even if you can’t travel 😉
    Happy reading!!

  17. Lori

Two weeks with sweet little ones sounds like an amazing time! I’m excited for you! Have a great week!

  18. Rachel

You don’t need alarm clocks with kids! Sorry to hear about the covid scare. Hope everything turns out ok!

I’m debating on getting a copy of The Shadows. Interested in hearing your thoughts. 🙂
