It was a quiet week. Not much to report when you are still self-isolating. I watched Hamilton over 5 times and have had it on in the background while I work. I ordered books set in the period and have them all on a wait list from the library. I cannot believe we are hitting mid-month this week. Stay Caffeinated.

We enjoyed Hamilton here too! The weeks just go by in a blur and I never remember what we do around here. Lol.
Lorna
I’m so behind commenting. It’s depressing to have to isolate isn’t it. I still haven’t gone anywhere. I am staying busy. I don’t have Disney so no Hamilton for me. I pay to stream too many as it is. But one day I’d love to see it.
Kimberly
We got Disney + for free for a year because we are Verizon Wireless customers. Yes, I need a vacation so bad. We are off next week and aside from hiking outdoors we will be staying at home. The important thing is that we both unplug.
Tyler H. Jolley
I read self-isolating as self-loathing, lol. I guess this isolation is getting to me! I too, cannot believe we will be in the middle of July in a few days. This whole year somehow feels like it’s been a minute and also a million years all at once.
Kimberly
Bwahaha…. the Royals ended up staying because someone at their Dad’s has been in contact with an infected person so they are isolating for 14 days.
Tyler H. Jolley
Oh no! I hope their dad is okay. They are so lucky to have you close by to take the royals.
Kimberly
Sort of, their Mommy lives here right now.
Rachel
I can’t believe we’re already in mid July either! The year has gone by so fast. I could do with a fast forward of summer, though. The heat is awful here! Have a lovely week, Kimberly! 🙂
Kimberly
It dragged that hit overdrive as soon as the weather warmed up. 🙁
Lindsi
Even my monsters are singing Hamilton at this point! Haha, I love it. It’s really hard to come up with non-coronavirus related topics for TSP… the world is still ending, so. 😉 I hope you have a lovely week!
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear? ?
Kimberly
Yes… and you want to keep it positive but we are living in the upside-down.
vidya
we are holding on to Hamilton for a later watch! right now watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents all over again (this time with the kids)
Kimberly
Ooo I love Hitchcock presents!
Aj @ Read All The Things!
July is going so fast! I thought I had more time to write posts for the second half of the year, but nope. Someday I’ll see Hamilton. I need to know what the hype is about. Have a good week!
Kimberly
I hope you love it when you get to it AJ
Ethan
It seems like time is moving so much faster now that we are all staying home. I finished my 14 day self quarantine after coming in close contact with someone who tested positive at work. I also got my negative test results back, so I’m feeling a ton of relief.
Kimberly
I am happy to hear that Ethan. There is so much we don’t know yet.
Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer
I don’t have Disney+, so I haven’t seen Hamilton. Though, if I did, I probably wouldn’t watch it because I’m not a big fan of musicals.
Happy Reading!
Kimberly
My husband feels the same way Billy and I love them!
Lisa @ waytoofantasy
Thanks much for the shout-out, Kimberly! Hope you have a fantastic week ahead. 🙂
Kimberly
Happy to do so. They are some of my favorite tropes too!
Lover of Romance
Yeah there isn’t a whole lot to do when you gotta self isolate. Love your new arrivals and that cover for that Donna Grant book is yummy. 🙂
Kimberly
Agreed Bonnie!
Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books
I still haven’t got around to Hamilton. I’m sure I will eventually though.
If you’re looking for Hamilton-esqe book recommendations, I bought My Dear Hamilton a while ago which is a fictionalised novel based on the life of Eliza Hamilton. I haven’t read it yet but have heard so many wonderful things. 🙂
Kimberly
Adding to my list, Nicci! Thank you.
Laura Thomas
I’ve been rewatching some favorite shows and movies. Hard to concentrate right now. I’ve been enjoying your pictures of the Royal’s on Facebook, Kimberly! And yes, when kids get the giggles, I do too!
Kimberly
Yes, it was contagious. They got such a kick out of watching the cat and dog funny videos.
Shelleyrae @ Book’d Out
I guess I’m going to have to add Hamilton to my watch list since it’s proving so popular.
Wishing you a great reading week, stay well.
Kimberly
If you like musicals I am sure you will love it.
IntrovertedJen
I’ve seen lots of book recommendations for books about Eliza Hamilton on A Mighty Girl’s Facebook page this week. I may check some of those out. I’m not terribly interested in Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow. That thing is a brick! I hope you enjoy the ones you’ve chosen!
Kimberly
I am waiting for that one on audio.
Sophia Rose
I had a quiet week, but my poor husband had to work lots of overtime in the heat. Glad you’re loving Hamilton and neat that it piqued your interest in the historical period and people. I still need to watch it.
Have a good week, Kimberly!
Kimberly
I’ve read tons during the civil war and 1920s but looking forward to finding early American history both fiction and non.
Samantha
I think everyone has been just binging Hamilton! Its nice to escape! Hope you have a great week!
Kimberly
Agreed Samantha.
Katherine
I’ve watched about half of Hamilton while waiting this week and am really enjoying it. Those songs are crazy catchy. I hope you have a great week!
Kimberly
I am glad you are getting to watch it. I imagine you are very busy. Hugs.
Anne - Books of My Heart
Some interesting new reads! A quiet week is a good week. We are thinking of getting a Disney subscription now that my daughter has finished her classes and has 4 weeks off, so we can watch Hamilton. I always think I will look at the authors you have and I have so many ARCs already I can’t, in good conscience, take more right now. Someday.
Have a wonderful week and stay well!
Kimberly
We got a free year as Verizon Wireless customers.
Sophie
Hamilton does seem a big thing in the US Kimberly! I have seen people talking about it everyhere this last week!
Kimberly
Yes, the biggest thing that was positive this summer.
Mary Kirkland
I’m not much for musicals so I have’t watched Hamilton.
Kimberly
My husband is the same.
Lola
Sounds nice how you had a quiet week. I hope your new books are good and have a great week!
Kimberly
Thanks Lola. You do the same!
Lori
Finally getting to see a performance of Hamilton was odd yet exhilarating after spending so many years only knowing the soundtrack. I must admit, a lot didn’t happen how I had pictured it in my mind while listening to the soundtrack, but I loved it all the same!
Kimberly
LOL, yes. I still want to see a live performance.
Yvonne
Not much new here either. We’re still self-isolating too. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your books.
Kimberly
Thanks Yvonne. We are going to grill this afternoon and enjoy the sun.
Nise' (Under the Boardwalk)
Watched Hamilton once so far. Spending time walking, reading and in the pool.
Kimberly
Nice. Enjoy!
Jennifer | Book Den
YES!! I watched Hamilton 5 times as well!
Kimberly
Hehehe… yay Jennifer!
SJ
I haven’t seen Hamilton, but have heard a lot about it. Heartless looks good, going to have to check it out. Have a great week!
Kimberly
Ooo if you haven’t read Dark, start with her Mageri series. All of her books/audios take place in the same world. I love all of them!
SJ
Ok, thanks!
sjhigbee
A quiet week sounds a bit like a win at present:)). I hope you are able to enjoy the coming week with plenty of awesome books and some fun family time, Kimberly…
Kimberly
Isn’t that the truth? Thanks for the reminder!
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Yeah, I feel like this whole year has had nothing to report. I find myself forgetting that I had three author signings among January-March!
Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Kimberly
Yep, and it went from dragging to warp speed. It is a dystopian novel come to life.
A Voracious Reader
I can’t believe how fast this year is going especially since so much is awful. We can only hang on and hope for the best. I hope you have a great week, Kim!
Kimberly
Agreed..let you in on a secret. My oldest is expecting her first. I will be Nonna to a baby girl due in December, so 2020 won’t be all dingy and dreadful.
A Voracious Reader
Ooooh! Exciting!! Congrats to her and you! And that’s true about 2020. Our 3rd was born in May. Hope remains.
Lorna
Ooh! So happy for you and your family. Had to interrupt and say congratulations!
Kimberly
Thank you!!
Stormi Johnson
I still haven’t tried Hamilton, keep saying I will but I don’t know a part of me is curious the other part isn’t…lol. Have a great week! *hugs*
Kimberly
I hope you do; it is wonderful.
Stacy Renee @ LazyDayLit
This month is going quick for us!
I just started Hamilton (haven’t finished) and want all the reading material now!
Have a great week, Kimba! 🙂
Kimberly
Welcome to the fandom!
Berls
I haven’t managed to watch Hamilton yet, but I’m ready! I’m hoping I’ll have time today actually.
I know, can’t believe we’re already about halfway through July! It’s the slowest fast year ever ?. I hope you have a great week! Stay safe.
Kimberly
You are going to love it!
Lillian @ Mom With a Reading Problem
Ugh! Same here….I’ve always been a stay at home kinda girl anyways, but this self-isolating is starting to wear on me. At least there’s plenty of time to read ??♀️?
Kimberly
Same Lillian, if we went out twice a month for dinner or a movie I was perfectly happy staying at home. I miss not being able to visit family for vacation. They all live in states where covid is out of control.
Michelle@Because Reading
This year is just crazy! We have been only going to work and home, no side trips at all. Hamilton time period is great, I used to read historical romance all the time and I am not sure why I stopped. I always loved the history and the romance wasn’t bad either! 😉
Have a great week, Kim! Stay Safe and Happy Reading!
Kimberly
I read it almost exclusively for five years (300 plus books a year pre-blogging) and burned out. Now I read about 12-15 a year.
Laura @ Library of Clean Reads
I saw the trailer of Hamilton on the Disney Channel and it looks good. I also like the sound of The Borrower. I hope you have another great reading week.
Kimberly
I am really excited about the Borrower.
Ruby @ Ruby's Books
Same! It’s also a very hot summer, so we’re just hiding inside the house, with the AC on. Stay safe and happy reading <3
Kimberly
With everyone working from home, our electric bill is the highest it’s ever been..lol
Vi @Inkvotary
Same here. A quiet week. Stay safe and well and happy reading!
Kimberly
Thanks Vi, you too!
Tanya @ Girl Plus Books
Even though I remember saying that April and May seemed to crawl by, overall it really does feel like the year is flying by!
Kimberly
Same. Someone clicked the 2X button when we hit June!
Heather Duff
Hamilton is fantastic!! I’m loving it!
Kimberly
Glad you are enjoying it too!
vvb
Love Hamilton, too! Curious to see what you picked out from the library.
Kimberly
Hamilton the book on audio is one and I order a few books set during time. All of course have 9 plus weeks to wait.
jessicabookworm
Can’t believe we’re almost way through July – Even more so, can’t believe we over half-way through 2020! Only dawned on me when I saw the announcement for my favourite yearly meme: Six in Six!! ? Take care and happy reading! ?
Kimberly
Yes, I felt like the year was moving slower and then suddenly it sped up.
Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms
Yeah, time is really weird these days, isn’t it? I didn’t do much last week, either – but at the same time, I kind of did?
Have a wonderful week ahead, happy reading, and stay safe and healthy <3
Kimberly
LOL, you know I totally get it!
Gayathri
I haven’t still watched Hamilton and all my friends keep raving about it. I need to.. Soon. Stay safe.
Kimberly
Yes, yes you do!
Olivia-Savannah Roach
It sounds like everyone has been loving Hamilton lately and I really need to take my time to watch it soon! I have never heard the soundtrack or anything.
Kimberly
The music is wonderful!
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
I love that you are watching Hamilton so much! I wish I were, but we decided we have enough streaming subscriptions for now. Enjoy the books you ordered, and the ones that arrived this week!
Kimberly
We got it for Free for a year since we are Verizon Wireless customers.
Laurel-Rain Snow
Your week sounds great! I feel comfort in watching favorite or enjoyable movies over and over.
I am eager read The Lost and Found Bookshop.
Stay safe.
Kimberly
Yes, comfort in the familiarity is something we all are enjoying right now.
Maureen @ Maureen’s Books
I still haven’t seen Hamilton yet. But I’ve heard some great things about it! If only I can convince my husband to watch with me. LOL.
I got the new Donna Grant book too! I’m excited to start reading it. I love her books.
Thanks for mentioning my Book Club Kimberly! 😉
Stay safe and happy reading.
Kimberly
Glad you got it too. I am enjoying the series.
Greg
Hard to believe it’s almost mid July already. Summer is flying. Hope you are well and feeling better. We’re trying to isolate still as much as possible too. I still need to see Hamilton!
Kimberly
I hope you love Hamilton Greg!
