Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.  See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

It was a quiet week. Not much to report when you are still self-isolating. I watched Hamilton over 5 times and have had it on in the background while I work. I ordered books set in the period and have them all on a wait list from the library. I cannot believe we are hitting mid-month this week. Stay Caffeinated.

I’m so behind commenting. It’s depressing to have to isolate isn’t it. I still haven’t gone anywhere. I am staying busy. I don’t have Disney so no Hamilton for me. I pay to stream too many as it is. But one day I’d love to see it.

    • Kimberly

We got Disney + for free for a year because we are Verizon Wireless customers. Yes, I need a vacation so bad. We are off next week and aside from hiking outdoors we will be staying at home. The important thing is that we both unplug.

I read self-isolating as self-loathing, lol. I guess this isolation is getting to me! I too, cannot believe we will be in the middle of July in a few days. This whole year somehow feels like it’s been a minute and also a million years all at once.

  3. Rachel

I can’t believe we’re already in mid July either! The year has gone by so fast. I could do with a fast forward of summer, though. The heat is awful here! Have a lovely week, Kimberly! 🙂

we are holding on to Hamilton for a later watch! right now watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents all over again (this time with the kids)

  5. Aj @ Read All The Things!

July is going so fast! I thought I had more time to write posts for the second half of the year, but nope. Someday I’ll see Hamilton. I need to know what the hype is about. Have a good week!

It seems like time is moving so much faster now that we are all staying home. I finished my 14 day self quarantine after coming in close contact with someone who tested positive at work. I also got my negative test results back, so I’m feeling a ton of relief.

Yeah there isn’t a whole lot to do when you gotta self isolate. Love your new arrivals and that cover for that Donna Grant book is yummy. 🙂

  8. Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books

I still haven’t got around to Hamilton. I’m sure I will eventually though.
If you’re looking for Hamilton-esqe book recommendations, I bought My Dear Hamilton a while ago which is a fictionalised novel based on the life of Eliza Hamilton. I haven’t read it yet but have heard so many wonderful things. 🙂

I’ve seen lots of book recommendations for books about Eliza Hamilton on A Mighty Girl’s Facebook page this week. I may check some of those out. I’m not terribly interested in Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow. That thing is a brick! I hope you enjoy the ones you’ve chosen!

I had a quiet week, but my poor husband had to work lots of overtime in the heat. Glad you’re loving Hamilton and neat that it piqued your interest in the historical period and people. I still need to watch it.

    Have a good week, Kimberly!

I’ve read tons during the civil war and 1920s but looking forward to finding early American history both fiction and non.

  11. Samantha

I think everyone has been just binging Hamilton! Its nice to escape! Hope you have a great week!

  12. Katherine

I’ve watched about half of Hamilton while waiting this week and am really enjoying it. Those songs are crazy catchy. I hope you have a great week!

  13. Anne - Books of My Heart

Some interesting new reads! A quiet week is a good week. We are thinking of getting a Disney subscription now that my daughter has finished her classes and has 4 weeks off, so we can watch Hamilton. I always think I will look at the authors you have and I have so many ARCs already I can’t, in good conscience, take more right now. Someday.

Have a wonderful week and stay well!

  14. Sophie

Hamilton does seem a big thing in the US Kimberly! I have seen people talking about it everyhere this last week!

  15. Lola

Sounds nice how you had a quiet week. I hope your new books are good and have a great week!

  16. Lori

Finally getting to see a performance of Hamilton was odd yet exhilarating after spending so many years only knowing the soundtrack. I must admit, a lot didn’t happen how I had pictured it in my mind while listening to the soundtrack, but I loved it all the same!

  17. SJ

I haven’t seen Hamilton, but have heard a lot about it. Heartless looks good, going to have to check it out. Have a great week!

  18. sjhigbee

A quiet week sounds a bit like a win at present:)). I hope you are able to enjoy the coming week with plenty of awesome books and some fun family time, Kimberly…

  19. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Yeah, I feel like this whole year has had nothing to report. I find myself forgetting that I had three author signings among January-March!

Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

I can’t believe how fast this year is going especially since so much is awful. We can only hang on and hope for the best. I hope you have a great week, Kim!

    • Kimberly

Same Lillian, if we went out twice a month for dinner or a movie I was perfectly happy staying at home. I miss not being able to visit family for vacation. They all live in states where covid is out of control.

    • Kimberly

I read it almost exclusively for five years (300 plus books a year pre-blogging) and burned out. Now I read about 12-15 a year.

    • Kimberly

Hamilton the book on audio is one and I order a few books set during time. All of course have 9 plus weeks to wait.

Can’t believe we’re almost way through July – Even more so, can’t believe we over half-way through 2020! Only dawned on me when I saw the announcement for my favourite yearly meme: Six in Six!! ? Take care and happy reading! ?

Yeah, time is really weird these days, isn’t it? I didn’t do much last week, either – but at the same time, I kind of did?
Have a wonderful week ahead, happy reading, and stay safe and healthy <3

  23. Laurel-Rain Snow

Your week sounds great! I feel comfort in watching favorite or enjoyable movies over and over.

I am eager read The Lost and Found Bookshop.

    Stay safe.

  24. Maureen @ Maureen’s Books

I still haven’t seen Hamilton yet. But I’ve heard some great things about it! If only I can convince my husband to watch with me. LOL.

I got the new Donna Grant book too! I’m excited to start reading it. I love her books.

Thanks for mentioning my Book Club Kimberly! 😉

    Stay safe and happy reading.

Hard to believe it’s almost mid July already. Summer is flying. Hope you are well and feeling better. We’re trying to isolate still as much as possible too. I still need to see Hamilton!
