Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.  See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

During the month of June, I managed 21 books/audios. I am at 125/200 for my Goodreads goal and 71/100 for the Audiobook challenge. I changed up something on my blog. Did you notice? You can’t see it on your mobile device. The Royals are here for the weekend and we’ve been grilling, watching Hamilton on Disney+ and enjoyed some small fireworks and the fire pit. There may have been S’mores. Stay Caffeinated.

I only had 1/2 one and thought I’d go back later for the second half, but the locust swarmed in and there was nothing left but crumbs and an empty marshmallow bag!

I love the headphones! They’re a great addition to your logo, Kimba! Glad you guys had a great forth. It’s been weird around here but we’re making the best of it.

    • Kimberly

Thank you. We had a good time, but I ended up with a sinus infection, which is no doubt allergy driven. I hope you had a good weekend!

  2. Lover of Romance

Yay I am so happy to see the change, I love it. The headphones are such a nice touch. Hope you had a wonderful time on the 4th celebrating with your family!!

    • Kimberly

They live here half the week, but yes we had a fun time. My hubby grilled bacon-wrapped sirloin and we had corn on the cob. It was nice to forget the shitstorm that is 2020 for a weekend.

  3. Lori

I’ve had my eyes on Mexican Gothic for awhile now. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts! I hope you have a great week!

  4. MarthaE

I like the earphones with the books. Is that what is new?
Great job on 21 books for the month and 71 audios. I am at 49 of 75 audios so I am in good shape there.
Enjoy your time with the royals and happy reading!

  5. Ethan

I’m always so envious of how much reading/listening you accomplish each week!

It has to be so great having the royals over and being able to celebrate with the family! You’re creating those memories that they’ll always hold dear.

    • Kimberly

Thanks Ethan. We had a good time. I have a head cold now though which is making me mizzy. Hope you had a wonderful 4th.

  6. Sophia Rose

Headphones? I know I should pay better attention. 😉

Smores!!! Love those. Now, I want to do some up.

    Looking good on your challenges.

    Have a great week, Kimberly!

  7. Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books

Is it the headphones on the logo? I’m pretty sure it was just books before. (PS I like it!)
Glad you’ve had a good weekend with your family. You’re absolutely bossing the reading goal so far this year!

We had s’mores too! with gluten free crackers which I think are the best I’ve ever tasted and dark chocolate bars. Congrats on your June reading. We all do what we can right now. Enjoy your week!

  9. Katherine

Hope you had a lovely holiday with the Royals. We haven’t watched Hamilton yet but I’m really looking forward to it. Hope you have a great week.

  10. IntrovertedJen

S’mores, yum! We watched Hamilton as well and really enjoyed it! Congratulations on your progress toward your goals! Enjoy your week!

    • Kimberly

Yay glad you spotted them. It was a chill weekend, well as chill as it can be with over an sugared five and three year old grandchildren!

  11. Lola

You’re doing great with your reading/ listening! I like the new addition of the headphones on your logo. Have a great week!

  12. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Ooh nice! I like the new tweaks! Glad you had a nice holiday too! Smores sound delightful. I can’t remember the last time I got to have one of those! I’m usually dog-sitting when my parents go camping.

Nice new reads too! Some new to me ones here. I hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  13. Mareli @ Elza Reads

Goodness gracious Kimberly! You are doing wonderful with your Reading Challenge. I’m also just over halfway, but my challenge is only 54 books, so that doesn’t really add up to much.

Hope you will have a wonderful week ahead!

Hope you had a great fourth. I love the holiday but not a fan of the fireworks. I was up till midnight with my fur baby who was shaking so bad. Usually it’s not that bad but I think everyone bought out all the fireworks and we live in the country so no shut off time. 🙁

Have a great week and happy reading!!!

Awe, yes they aren’t fans. We only did them on Friday and Sat night from 8:30 and were cleaned up and done before 10. We didn’t do them last year but the Royals are at the age where they love them. I don’t like the super load boom ones and don’t appreciate them being set off except for the two days.

  15. RO

I haven’t been over here as much as I should, and so sorry, but the headphones by the books may be different??(lol) Yay to grilling and fireworks, but I have to admit I’m no fan of grilling. I declare every person I know who cooks on a grill almost burns it all to a crisp, then they throw on a ton of barbecue sauce!(lol) How come no one grills like Bobby Flay? Happy weekend and hugs, RO

    • Kimberly

My husband isn’t Bobby Flay but he grills a mean steak. We had bacon wrapped filets. So good. I made twice baked potatoes, corn on the cob and steamed broccoli. My daughter and the Royals made a lovely cake for dessert.

  16. sjhigbee

Sounds like a wonderful weekend – I hope the weather behaves! And your reading stats as ever, are truly impressive, Kimberly:)). Have a lovely week.

  17. Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms

I can’t see what you changed 😮 I guess I’m not very observant.

I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend with the royals. The firepit and s’mores sounds very nice.

Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  18. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

You added headphones to your logo — did I get it right? 🙂

Hamilton and s’mores — I’m envious! Seriously, though I hope you loved every minute of them.

And you’re doing great on your challenges! I’m letting myself off the hook for some of mine, due to the pandemic (or rather, the emotional effects of it.) But maybe I can catch up, at least on some challenges.

Enjoy your week, with great looking books ahead. I like your new book stack on the header, with the nod to audiobooks.

I am also looking forward to reading The Girl from Widow Hills. The Lost and Found Bookshop is one I need to add to my shelves, too.

Have a great week, and stay safe.
