The Royals are here all weekend and I am unplugged until Tuesday. Yay for three-day weekends. With the current Covid-19 pandemic we have not taken a vacation, so I am looking forward to stepping away from the computer. I bought a Fitbit this week as I was feeling like a sluggish sloth. I knew it would motivate me, and it did. Do you have one? – Stay Caffeinated.

I have a fitbit. I’m not getting in as many steps now, due to staying in amid the pandemic, but I’ve been trying to go out every other day at least for walks of this circuit that I’ve worked out for myself. I am doing a trial of fitbit premium as well right now, and I do like the additional challenges, so I may continue on and pay for it.

I hope you enjoyed your unplugged time. 🙂

  2. Tyler H. Jolley

I hope you had a great 3-day weekend. I had actually just got myself a whoop to help track my sleep and how my aging body recovers with heavy activity. I hope you enjoy your fitbit!

  3. Ailyn Koay

i don’t have a fitbit but a Miband, and a third party app that tracks some cool data for my training. At the moment i am not going to the gym so not getting as much benefit as i used to =(

  4. Maureen @ Maureen's Books

Good for you taking some time off.
I always wanted a Fitbit.. But there are so many things I’d like to get. But since I’m currently trying to life a little more healthy, it might be a good time to get myself one.
Have a great week Kimberly. Happy reading.

  5. MarthaE

    Enjoy your unplugged time.
I love my fitbit but sometimes it shows how little walking I’m doing. :-(.
The Book of Lost Names looks good to me.
    Have a good week.

  6. vidya

Zumba and gardening are my motivation to stay active 🙂
and all those books sound so good.. I think I have the Book of Lost Names on my list as well..

  7. Katherine

I’m definitely on the sluggish side as well and need to get some kind of regular activity in my daily schedule of I’m just going to turn to jello! I hope you have a great week!

  8. Carla

I love my fitbit, it keeps me moving throughout the day. I will be watching for your review on The Book of Names.

I’m so glad you are able to spend some time with the royals this weekend! I actually updated my fitbit to an Apple Watch a couple years ago, and I absolutely love it. It reminds me to stand each hour and pushes me to maintain my exercise goals, even when I’m not in the mood lol. It is turning out to be a rainy weekend here, so I’ll probably do a bit more reading and housework than I was initially planning. Enjoy the long weekend!

My Fitbit definitely makes me feel more accountable – I’m scared to think how few steps I would get without it!

  11. Anne - Books of My Heart

I hope you have a great weekend and week ahead. Unplugging is not a bad idea on a holiday weekend. I had the simplest Fitbit which I liked except it didn’t work well with the Harley. I hope it is awesome for you

  12. Laurie

Yes, I have bought an Apple Watch during this pandemic and I want to match my goals. However, I get there much and much easier when I’m working at the office as I can’t do outside sports really with my visual impairment. I can’t wait for the gyms to re-open honestly! I really hope that will be much earlier than September 1, as it’s scheduled for that date.

  13. LORI CASWELL

Have fun with the Royals. I was able to see all but 1 of the Grands this past week and the time was priceless.

  14. Yvonne

Enjoy your weekend with the Royals! I have a Fitbit. Mine is a Versa2. I still haven’t been getting my steps or exercising in because of the pandemic but I need to figure something out. I need my exercise! Hope you have a great holiday weekend and a great week! Stay safe!

Enjoy your long weekend! I have a fitbit too and I really like it. I like that it reminds me to get up every hour, especially while I’m working and I do find that when I make my step goal one day, it motivates me to try for it again the next day, etc. I like the challenges too since they post the rankings throughout the week as the challenge progresses. The shame of being at the bottom of the list helps me to step it up a bit, lol.

  16. Lola

I hope you have a great weekend! I plan to listen to Chaos Reigning soon as I really enjoyed the first 2 books. Have a great week!

  17. Sophie

What’s a Fitbit Kimberly???? Maybe I could use one too LOL Enjoy your long weekend! And I am curious about what you thought of The Prisoner’s Wife!

  18. A Voracious Reader

Yay for a Royal weekend! We welcomed grandbaby #3 last night. Well, welcomed from a distance. Not sure when we’ll get to see him. *sigh* I got a Fitbit for Christmas 2018. It motivates me a bit. Not as much as it should. LOL I hope you have a great week, Kim!

  19. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

Enjoy your long, unplugged weekend! I’m working, trying to catch up on a project I’m behind on.

I don’t have a Fitbit, but I’ve thought about it. Maybe you could review yours in a month or two, and let us know how you like it and whether it’s working?

Its always such fun to unplug, I live out west so the national parks have opened up here so probably going to take a picnic with the family up the mountains. But mostly just relaxing for the weekend. Hope you get some renewal this three day weekend.

  21. Laura Thomas

Have a lovely holiday weekend, Kimberly. I need to buy a fitbit. I’m curious how much I walk each shift at work. Or should I say run as it is so busy. LOL

  22. ShootingStarsMag

It would be so nice to go somewhere…or see different people. LOL Enjoy your time away from the computer with the Royals and I hope you have fab weather.

It’s been ages since I went anywhere besides a quick trip to the grocery store at least for the last 10 weeks. That’s awesome that you have the time to spend with your family. I do love my Fitbit but haven’t been wearing it much due to we are still in shelter in place in California. I hope you enjoy the weekend.

  24. Berls

Enjoy your weekend with the Royals! I have a Fitbit – have had one for years. It’s definitely motivating especially when you get into challenges with people. Send me a friend request – I’m Berls. Have a great week and stay safe!

  25. Erin @ Cracker Crumb Life

OO The Glamourist!! I am so excited to read that one. I pre-ordered it a hundred years ago and can’t wait to get it.

It seems like everyone is thinking about getting some sort of physical movement back into their lives, myself included! Have a good one with your family!

  26. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Yeah, I haven’t had a vacation in ages it feels like. I wish things could get back to normal so vacations can be normal again. I want a break from it all, but I can’t always escape all the things I have to do on a daily basis these days. Yay for the Fitbit. I know people have liked having those! Hope you enjoy yours!

And yay for new reads! Some new to me ones! I still need pick up Mihalik’s books! Sadly, haven’t seen the newest one on sale yet, so I continue to wait! Lol. Hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

How lovely to spend so much quality time with your grandchildren! I hope you have a wonderful time together, Kimberly…

  28. Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms

I’m glad you’ll get to be unplugged and just enjoy the royals, Kim!
I had a fitbit, but I’ve traded it in for a garmin watch instead. Not sure which I prefer – the fitbit was better at picking up different workouts. Both are good to register my sleep…
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading. Elbow hugs!
    Stay safe and healthy 🙂

  29. Rachel

I’ve had a Fitbit for a few years now, and it does motivate me to move, too. My ankle is what’s been holding me back. It’s a lot better than before but still aches if I’m on it a lot.

I’m looking forward to Chaos Reigning. Just have to make room in my schedule to read it. 🙂
