The Witcher returns in this action-packed sequel to The Last Wish, in the series that inspired The Witcher video games.

Geralt is a witcher, a man whose magic powers, enhanced by long training and a mysterious elixir, have made him a brilliant fighter and a merciless assassin. Yet he is no ordinary murderer: his targets are the multifarious monsters and vile fiends that ravage the land and attack the innocent. He roams the country seeking assignments, but gradually comes to realise that while some of his quarry are unremittingly vile, vicious grotesques, others are the victims of sin, evil or simple naivety.

In this collection of short stories, following the adventures of the hit collection THE LAST WISH, join Geralt as he battles monsters, demons and prejudices alike...

fantasy magical well written Monsters

Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski is another collection of short stories and for fans of the Netflix series most of these appeared in season one. Monsters and destiny await you. Grab your earbuds because Peter Kenny rocks the narration. ?

While the Witcher series begins with Blood of Elves, I think reading or listening to these short stories first help add depth and endear you to the characters. I loved seeing more of Dandelion and Yennifer, not to mention Geralt of Rivia.

This collection has love stories, monsters, humor, death and more. A dragon hunt begins our story, and we learn more about dragons and Witchers. We see more of the romance and complications of Yennifer and Geralt. It pains me, yet I want them together.

A retelling of the mermaid tale was by far my favorite and most excellent on audio. I find it fascinating that the Witcher speaks so many languages. It also reaffirmed my respect fear of the deep blue sea! The mimic story was a good one, if not humorous.

Peter Kenny narrates and does so brilliantly. From the characters to the adventures, he enhanced the story and held me captive.

The Sword of Destiny was the most important story named after the title of the collection. We get a proper introduction to Ciri and grasp the connections. I am now ready to begin the full-length stories!

I didn’t know you liked Witcher series. I hear that the series is pretty well written

While I haven’t played the game or watched the tv series, you’re convincing me to maybe give these a go as audiobooks. Especially as you particularly recommend the narrator! I love mermaids so I think I would enjoy the mermaid retelling tale as well.
