How is everyone? We are isolating as instructed. I work from home and have been trying to navigate a balance between promo and community response for my authors. Reading has been hard. I find my mind won’t settle, so I am reading what appeals to me most. I hope you unplug, unwind and do something safe you enjoy today. Don’t miss the giveaway in my sidebar. Elbow hugs. Stay Caffeinated.

I haven’t been able to focus on my reading either. My mind won’t stop wandering. I’m in Southern California and we are on lock down right now. Stay Safe Kim 🙂

  2. MarthaE

We are still in office but with reduced staff and locked doors. I am taking the majority of my appointments by phone and our court system has gone to telephonic hearings for motions and delayed evidentiary hearings.
I found difficulty focusing at night last week but pushed on.
It is a new way of handling things but I have full confidence we will get through it.
A new Hollows book? Yay and lucky you. Enjoy!

One day at a time is all we can do really. It has been a bit tough to concentrate on reading, I agree. I’m definitely trying to focus on books that I just really want to read to get me back into things.

I’m with you on the mind struggling to settle! I guess it’s to be expected at the moment. 🙁
Very jealous at all you lucky ducks getting your hands on American Demon! I can’t wait to return to the Hollows!

Our governor just now shut us down starting tomorrow, so we met our friends one last time at Hardees as their lobby was till open. As of tomorrow that is a different story. We have food stocked and I am a homebody anyway so it isn’t really bothering me to much. I think it’s more the idea they are telling me I can’t go anywhere infringing on my rights that I am more pissed about. Oh well more reading time.

Agree with reading situation. I have to get used to a new pattern from reading during my work commute to reading at home. Enjoy your latest.

  7. Anne - Books of My Heart

Yup, I am also having the settle problem. We are staying home and it’s not so unusual. We do mostly anyway. I also want American Demon.

Have a healthy week and enjoy your chosen reads!

  8. Hannah

It has definitely been difficult to focus this week, on reading and transitions to working from home which I have never done before. But, the consistency of books and blogging is helping me get through the days!

  9. Sophia Rose

Howdy, fellow isolee! We’re hanging at home mostly, too. My mind has really been flitting around and tough to focus on reading, too.

    Have a great week, Kimberly!

  10. Angela (Angel's Guilty Pleasures)

We’ve had one week of staying in and mommy school. Ever since they announced that school was closing I’ve been stressed and have not read. I have no desire to read which is sad! I always have a book going. Having everyone home I get interrupted multiple times and so it makes it hard to get into a book. On a fun note we’re playing more board games, going for walks, and having lots of family time. Take care!

  11. Mary Kirkland

I’ve been having a hard time reading here lately too. I’ve been reading novellas and that has been the right length for now.

  12. Sophie

I think many have problems focusing on their reads right now Kimberly! I hope it will get better soon though …Wishing you a happy week amidst the chaos!

  13. LORI CASWELL

My reading speed has slowed for the same reasons. Trying to keep up with commitments I stayed up last night to finish a book and then overslept thing morning 🙂

    Send virtual hugs your way.

  14. Lola

I am staying home mostly too like usual. It’s still chaos at the grocery stores with the panic buyers here. I hope you stay safe and healthy. Sounds like a good plan to just read what appeals to you the most.

  15. Becki

I said the same thing as your intro today – lots of time to read, but no focus. Ugh. I still seem to be getting a lot of reading done, though. With so much unstructured time, even if I feel like I’m wasting most of it, things are still getting done. Take care of you and yours!

Yes – we are not yet at the stage where we are self-isolating, but with all bars, cafes, theatures, etc now shut, we aren’t going anywhere much. I hope you and Mr Wonderful continue to keep well. And as you say… one day at a time:))x

  17. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Yeah, work ought to be interesting tomorrow. I’m wondering how many will show up since we’re supposed to be under quarantine. But since certain stores and banks are staying open, we have to stay open. What’s scary is the mix of people. We’re well over ten, probably borderline 50 when everyone is in the building in the mornings and then there’s the fact that the guys interact with lots of customers in the day and then come back to the building again. There’s way too many people exposure going on and it will be a miracle if none of us get sick. It’s a bad situation to be in right now.

But yay for the new read! I got this one too and will be reading it as soon as I finish my current read! I can never stick to the reading plan in my head! Lol!

    Happy Reading!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  18. Melliane

I also had the Kim Harrsion one and I’m curious to read it! Happy reading and good luck for everything.

  19. Gayathri

I am enjoying the downtime, and trying to catch up with the movies and books. But still the panic is there and constant media coverage is not making things any easier. ”

I hope you are staying safe.

We’ve been working on projects around the house. I haven’t been reading at all which is a bummer. But at least we’re doing the social distancing that’s recommended. Hopefully, this part of the pandemic will pass before too much longer and things can get back to normal. Take care of yourself!

  21. Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms

Yeah, it’s been a weird 10 days for sure! Staying home with everyone has been kind of nice, and we have a pretty big yard, so we’ve been able to spend some time outside as well.
It’s been pretty hard to switch to online teaching, though. It has taken me a lot of time to get everything ready – and video conferencing with my students is both nice and strange at the same time.
Stay safe and healthy, Kim! *hugs*

It has been a weird week I haven’t been able to focus much and I didn’t finish any of the books I’ve previously started. Hopefully, the upcoming week will be better.

    Stay safe!

Glad you are well and staying home. I’ve been unable to focus on reading myself but hope to settle into a good book soon. Take care and have a good week ahead!

  24. Chai @ Like Chai Tea

The attention’s divided between the news, school and work, and reading. I am very worried about this pandemic though but I’m just following every rule my city/country’s implementing for the sake of our safety. I just distract myself with books and work. Stay safe!!

  25. Rachel

I agree, with everything going on it’s been hard to focus! We’re okay, I’m just on high alert and worried since I work in a California hospital! Take care Kimberly. 🙂

I’ve been reading more and more this week. Just trying to not watch and hear all the Corona stuff all the time! It’s important stuff.. but it makes me feel so down. Reading is the perfect distraction.
Good luck with working from home Kimberly! Stay save **elbow hug**

  27. Greg

Take care and be safe. I’ve found reading to be kinda tough too- so many distractions.

Hope you are well this week!

  28. Laura Thomas

It’s scary times. I’m still working until they when or if they close us down. Trying my best to take precautions but that’s hard. Stay safe:)
