Out with the old and in with the new. We celebrated quietly. The Royals were here, and both were sick. Poor babes. In 2019 I manged 231 books/audios towards my 200 Goodreads challenge. 2020 I am starting out low-key and only doing the Audiobook Yearly Challenge and Goodreads challenge (which works as a tracker for me). However, I will host some readathons and month long challenges. Stay Caffeinated!

231 books. You are a reading queen and absolutely amaze me! I also had a quiet new years celebration. Hope the others get well soon though <3
Stacy Renee @ LazyDayLit
Happy New Year, Kim! I hope the grands are feeling better now! Everyone I know has started the new year off sick! I started mine off with adventures! Happy reading!
vidya
thank you for hosting this every week and a happy new year… hope the little ones are better now..
231 books for the year – wow!!
Andreea
This year I am hooked on audiobooks too – I recently got an audible subscription and I cannot stop listening! So I might join the Audiobook Challenge <3

i’ve missed the sunday post for some time, but now that the new year is here i hope to get back into the swing of things

Happy New Year! Great job on all of your reading in 2019; I hope 2020 is just as awesome for you.

Tyler H. Jolley
Congratulations on meeting most of your goals! That is fantastic. I hope you know how appreciated you are!
MarthaE
Sorry to hear the little ones were sick. I know the feeling.
I use GR challenge for tracking as well as a spreadsheet.
I hope you enjoy the more low key approach this year.
Aj @ Read All The Things!
Wow, congrats on reading 231 books! I’m disappointed that I didn’t even reach 100 last year. Life was too chaotic. Have a great week!
Nise' (Under the Boardwalk)
Happy New Year Kim! Sorry the year started out with sickness, hope all are feeling better. Keeping things low key this year as well.
Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library
Poor little ones! Hopefully they’re feeling better. Great job with your reading in 2019! Rachel Caine is an author I’d like to get to soon. Her books look really good. Have a great week!
literary critique
Oooh I spy a Rachel Caine book! I hope you review it so I can check out your thoughts. I’ve only read Ink and Bone by her, and really loved it-I’m planning to finish the series this year-and I’m honestly a little nervous about reading her adult works
Lorna
Very impressed with the number of books you read. I had a goal of 160 and read 202. That could be a fluke so I’m going with 170 for this year. I did the audio challenge but didn’t know what to do with the amount at the end. I had 99 audios last year. I’m looking forward to see what you thought of Death of Darkness. I loved it! On another note, so sorry the little ones were sick at New Year. But then I think I already told you that. Oh well.
Whitney @ Sincerely, Whitney
I am also jealous of your success with audiobooks. It can take me MONTHS to finish one audiobook because I feel like it is never the right time to listen to it. Weird, I know.
Anyway, I hope to join in on one of your readathons this time.
Have a great week!
Bianca @
Congrats on exceeding your Goodreads challenge! That’s awesome. Happy New Year! 🙂
Wendy @ Falconer's Library
The only challenges I ever manage are backlist books and read your library, but that’s because I just do that anyways. I did realize on Dec. 31st that I had read 199 books, so I found a short one to round that up with!
Crystal
Happy New Year! I hope you have another wonderful year in books!
Laura @ Library of Clean Reads
I hope you have anothet great reading year!
Emma @ Words And Peace
wow, it looks like 2019 was awesome. Happy New Year of Reading! And I’m glad to be back on Sunday Post
Becki
I’m admittedly a bit jealous of your success with audio books. I always forget I’m listening and go do something else, unless my daughter and I are on a long road trip…
Samantha
Hopefully you have a wonderful 2020!!
Sophia Rose
We had a sicky in the house and my husband had to work nearly to midnight so our New Year’s Eve was a push to make it to midnight, but we managed. We had our fun and snacks the next day. 🙂
Yay for surpassing your GR goal.
Have a great week, Kimberly!
Angela (Angel's Guilty Pleasures)
Happy New Year! Have a great day and happy listening.
Maureen @ Maureen's Books
Happy New Year Kimberly. We also had a quiet new year eve. I definitely like it that way.
231 books is amazing! I didn’t reach my Goodreads goal by 7 books. But I don’t mind. I set my goal for 100 books again this year.
Have a great week and happy reading!
Lover of Romance
Glad to see you got a good start to your new year, always good to celebrate it quietly with your loved ones. Hope you read some great books. I need to read Rachel Caine, I hear she is fantastic.
Anne - Books of My Heart
Yay quiet. Boo sick. I have Bitter Falls on eARC and am excited to read it. Gorgeous cover and I’ve heard the audio is good. Have a wonderful, quiet and healthy week!
Kaitlyn
I also had a quiet New Years; just my dad, sister and cat. I hope that everyone is feeling better!
Lindsi
I accidently linked the wrong Sunday Post! Today has been A DAY, and it’s only 11:23 AM. Haha! I’m sorry your grandchildren were sick — never fun! My son goes back to school on Tuesday, and I’m already anticipating the GERMS. I hope you have a lovely week!
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear? ?
Mary Kirkland
Aww poor babies. I hope they’re feeling better.
LORI CASWELL
We had a quiet NYE too. I was reading to reach my GoodReads goal of 205 and made it with a few hours to spare, 🙂 Sorry the kiddos were sick. I hope 2020 brings you wonderful things.
Yvonne
Happy New Year! I’m sorry to hear the Royals have been sick. I hope they are feeling better. We had a quiet New Year’s too. You had a great 2019 as far as reading goes. Hope you have a great week!
Natalie @Natflix&Books
We had a quiet NYE, too. Hope 2020 is off to a better start for you. Happy reading!
Mandy
Happy New Year!! We did the quiet as I’ve decided it was time to get the dreaded cold that has been floating around. I’ve noticed a lot of people are going with a light challenge list this year. I kind of think maybe I overdid it a little and suspect I will be chasing them this year. I hope you have a great new year!!! Thanks for hosting this awesome weekly.
A Voracious Reader
We rang in the New Year quietly as well. I’m going to join the Audio challenge now that I have a brand spankin’ new Fire to listen on. I hope you have a wonderful week, Kim!
Daniela Ark
Congrats on being a super reader as usual Kim! Sorry to hear the royals were sick hope everyone is feeling better now and that everyone has a wonderful new year
Whitney @ First Impressions Reviews
I’m sorry to hear about the Royals, I hope they are feeling better.
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Sounds like a nice week! I had a quiet New Years as well! I never go anywhere and am just fine with that because they are too many crazy people with low alcohol tolerance out there! Lol. I’m a homebody through and through and was in bed by 11, so I celebrated New York New Year’s at least (I live in CST)!
Nice new read! I’m just about to start this one myself! As soon as I can find a spare minute! Lol! Hope you enjoy the new read!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

I like your new profile pic. It is beautiful! Glad you had a good start into the New Year. Around here it was quiet too. Sorry to hear about the Royals. Sick kids are no fun and I hope they feel much better now. Happy listening!
Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
I still haven’t done my 2019 challenge wrap-up. I did great with all my challenges at the beginning, but then my participation … slowly … slid … away. Oh well, 2020 is a new year! (Sorry to hear the littles were sick!!)
Michelle
Sorry the little ones are sick. I think next year we are planning a quiet New Year. I just don’t feel like going out, anymore.
I am keeping my challenges with the ones I c0-host. Really just want to read this year.
I hope you have a wonderful week, Happy Reading!
Stormi Johnson
Sorry to hear the Royals for sick for New Years, hope they are better now. I am being low key with my challenges this year too. 🙂
Have a great week and happy reading!
Stormi
Lola
Sorry to hear about the royals being both sick. I hope they’re feeling better soon. That’s awesome you listened/ read so many books in 2019. I am only doing the audiobook challenge, Goodreads challenge and Coyer this year. Have a great week!
Lynn
I’m sad to hear the Royals were ill, I hope they are feeling better!
Good luck with your reading goals! It looks like 2019 was a great reading year for you!
I really want to read books by Rachel Caine, maybe 2020 will be the year I do so!
Have a wonderful week!
bookworm
Wow, you had a great reading year! Hope everyone is feeling better and Happy New Year!
Jan @ Notes from a Readerholic
I’m sorry to hear the Royals were sick. I hope they’re better now and that you don’t get sick, Kimberly. I haven’t signed up for any reading challenges except for Goodreads. I think I will just challenge myself to read some new genres or subjects rather than take part in challenges since I was dismal at keeping track of them last year.
You did great with your reading, Kimberly, and I hope next week continues to give you good books to read.
Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books
231 books is incredible! Well done!
Sorry to hear the Royals were sick for New Year. We had a really low key one too but luckily no one fell ill this year! (Breaking a tradition! lol)
Tanya @ Girl Plus Books
It was a quiet New Years Even here, too. Although, no sick thank goodness!
You really crushed your reading goals last year!
Amy
Wow, 213 books! That’s amazing.
Wishing you all the best for 2020!
Anika

213/200 books, wow! I barely managed to finish my 150 books goal. Wishing you the best for 2020!

I really love Rachel Caine’s writing! I am more familiar with her YA novels, but I want to read her regular fiction, too.
Gayathri
So sorry to hear that your kids were sick. I hope they are feeling better now. We went down to the beach to look at the fireworks. But otherwise a calm and restful new year’s eve for us. Happy New Year.
Laura Thomas
Nice job with your challenges. I failed a few of mine so I’m going to keep it light this year.
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
Happy New Year! I’m sorry the Royals were sick; I hope they get better soon. Well done with your Goodreads challenge in 2019! And your others as well. And good luck with your 2020 challenges!
Literary Feline
We brought in the New year quietly too. I am sorry to hear the Royals have been sick. I hope everyone is feeling better soon. I hope you enjoy Bitter Falls. I have heard good things about it. I hope you have a great week, Kim. Happy New Year!
Rachel
I enjoyed Risk it All too. I never join many challenges and I’ve only joined your audio book one, GRs & the 2020 Romance Bingo Challenge. We’ll see how it goes. 🙂
Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms
Happy New Year Kim! I hope the Royals are feeling better.
We had a very low-key celebration fro the new year, too. It was awesome.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
Jackie Briere
I like how organized you are in your challenges! It takes a certain amount of dedication to accomplish all that! Good for you and Happy New Year! Take care of yourself and I hope this year is smoother sailing.
Lillian @ Mom with a Reading Problem
Sorry to hear the Royals were sick ? That’s no fun! Hope they are feeling better. 231 books is amazing! I managed 108 last year. That seems small in comparison ? Have a good week Kim!
Siran
Congrats on the Goodreads challenge. I was 3 short of mine
Laurel-Rain Snow
I love a quiet New Year, and yours sounds wonderful. Sorry the kids were sick, though.
Enjoy your books. I am eager to get a copy of The Country Guesthouse.

What a beautiful cover for Bitter Falls!
