Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.  See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Out with the old and in with the new. We celebrated quietly. The Royals were here, and both were sick. Poor babes. In 2019 I manged 231 books/audios towards my 200 Goodreads challenge. 2020 I am starting out low-key and only doing the Audiobook Yearly Challenge and Goodreads challenge (which works as a tracker for me). However, I will host some readathons and month long challenges. Stay Caffeinated!

thank you for hosting this every week and a happy new year… hope the little ones are better now..
231 books for the year – wow!!

  2. Andreea

This year I am hooked on audiobooks too – I recently got an audible subscription and I cannot stop listening! So I might join the Audiobook Challenge <3

  3. MarthaE

Sorry to hear the little ones were sick. I know the feeling.
I use GR challenge for tracking as well as a spreadsheet.
I hope you enjoy the more low key approach this year.

  4. literary critique

Oooh I spy a Rachel Caine book! I hope you review it so I can check out your thoughts. I’ve only read Ink and Bone by her, and really loved it-I’m planning to finish the series this year-and I’m honestly a little nervous about reading her adult works

  5. Lorna

Very impressed with the number of books you read. I had a goal of 160 and read 202. That could be a fluke so I’m going with 170 for this year. I did the audio challenge but didn’t know what to do with the amount at the end. I had 99 audios last year. I’m looking forward to see what you thought of Death of Darkness. I loved it! On another note, so sorry the little ones were sick at New Year. But then I think I already told you that. Oh well.

  6. Wendy @ Falconer's Library

The only challenges I ever manage are backlist books and read your library, but that’s because I just do that anyways. I did realize on Dec. 31st that I had read 199 books, so I found a short one to round that up with!

  7. Becki

I’m admittedly a bit jealous of your success with audio books. I always forget I’m listening and go do something else, unless my daughter and I are on a long road trip…

  8. Sophia Rose

We had a sicky in the house and my husband had to work nearly to midnight so our New Year’s Eve was a push to make it to midnight, but we managed. We had our fun and snacks the next day. 🙂
Yay for surpassing your GR goal.

    Have a great week, Kimberly!

  9. Maureen @ Maureen's Books

Happy New Year Kimberly. We also had a quiet new year eve. I definitely like it that way.
231 books is amazing! I didn’t reach my Goodreads goal by 7 books. But I don’t mind. I set my goal for 100 books again this year.
Have a great week and happy reading!

  10. Lover of Romance

Glad to see you got a good start to your new year, always good to celebrate it quietly with your loved ones. Hope you read some great books. I need to read Rachel Caine, I hear she is fantastic.

  11. Lindsi

I accidently linked the wrong Sunday Post! Today has been A DAY, and it’s only 11:23 AM. Haha! I’m sorry your grandchildren were sick — never fun! My son goes back to school on Tuesday, and I’m already anticipating the GERMS. I hope you have a lovely week!

We had a quiet NYE too. I was reading to reach my GoodReads goal of 205 and made it with a few hours to spare, 🙂 Sorry the kiddos were sick. I hope 2020 brings you wonderful things.

  13. Mandy

Happy New Year!! We did the quiet as I’ve decided it was time to get the dreaded cold that has been floating around. I’ve noticed a lot of people are going with a light challenge list this year. I kind of think maybe I overdid it a little and suspect I will be chasing them this year. I hope you have a great new year!!! Thanks for hosting this awesome weekly.

  14. A Voracious Reader

We rang in the New Year quietly as well. I’m going to join the Audio challenge now that I have a brand spankin’ new Fire to listen on. I hope you have a wonderful week, Kim!

  15. Daniela Ark

Congrats on being a super reader as usual Kim! Sorry to hear the royals were sick hope everyone is feeling better now and that everyone has a wonderful new year

  16. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Sounds like a nice week! I had a quiet New Years as well! I never go anywhere and am just fine with that because they are too many crazy people with low alcohol tolerance out there! Lol. I’m a homebody through and through and was in bed by 11, so I celebrated New York New Year’s at least (I live in CST)!

Nice new read! I’m just about to start this one myself! As soon as I can find a spare minute! Lol! Hope you enjoy the new read!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  17. Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction

I still haven’t done my 2019 challenge wrap-up. I did great with all my challenges at the beginning, but then my participation … slowly … slid … away. Oh well, 2020 is a new year! (Sorry to hear the littles were sick!!)

  18. Lola

Sorry to hear about the royals being both sick. I hope they’re feeling better soon. That’s awesome you listened/ read so many books in 2019. I am only doing the audiobook challenge, Goodreads challenge and Coyer this year. Have a great week!

  19. Lynn

I’m sad to hear the Royals were ill, I hope they are feeling better!

Good luck with your reading goals! It looks like 2019 was a great reading year for you!
I really want to read books by Rachel Caine, maybe 2020 will be the year I do so!

    Have a wonderful week!

  20. Jan @ Notes from a Readerholic

I’m sorry to hear the Royals were sick. I hope they’re better now and that you don’t get sick, Kimberly. I haven’t signed up for any reading challenges except for Goodreads. I think I will just challenge myself to read some new genres or subjects rather than take part in challenges since I was dismal at keeping track of them last year.

You did great with your reading, Kimberly, and I hope next week continues to give you good books to read.

  21. Ardis

I really love Rachel Caine’s writing! I am more familiar with her YA novels, but I want to read her regular fiction, too.

  22. Literary Feline

We brought in the New year quietly too. I am sorry to hear the Royals have been sick. I hope everyone is feeling better soon. I hope you enjoy Bitter Falls. I have heard good things about it. I hope you have a great week, Kim. Happy New Year!

  23. Jackie Briere

I like how organized you are in your challenges! It takes a certain amount of dedication to accomplish all that! Good for you and Happy New Year! Take care of yourself and I hope this year is smoother sailing.

  24. Laurel-Rain Snow

I love a quiet New Year, and yours sounds wonderful. Sorry the kids were sick, though.

Enjoy your books. I am eager to get a copy of The Country Guesthouse.

  25. Greg

Happy New Year Kimba! It was quiet here too. Sorry to hear about the Royals- hope they’re feeling better. Have a super week.

What a beautiful cover for Bitter Falls!
