Some things can never be undone. The horrors I've defeated—or even caused—with my own hands … they are nothing compared to what’s coming. Philip Pinkerton has brought his madness upon my family, my own blood. His army of necromancers is on the move, harbingers of a great darkness. I fear the war has begun ... and damn, I don't get paid enough for this.

Winter’s Demon by Eric R. Asher is the third audiobook in the Vesik urban fantasy series. Come join our necromancer and his motley crew save the world.

In Winter’s Demon, Damien soon learns Philip is not the only threat when his mother is kidnapped. His father will join them as they battle gods, demons, necromancers and more.

Hail! Hail! The gang’s all here! Damien, Sam, Zola, Foster, Aideen, Ashley, Frank, Cara and Mike work together. First to rescue Sam & Damien’s mom, then to stop evil from destroying the world. Battles, planning and a wealth of information kept me listening.

I loved all the aid as they gathered to battle from this realm and beyond. Mythology, ancient gods and lore finds themselves weaved into this tale.

There were a few surprises and things clicked about Damien and his interaction with the dead. Pay attention, peeps! ?I cannot wait to see how this develops.

Of course, there was plenty of humor, camaraderie, food and more. We see growth in Damien and his family works through some issues. The author weaves these moments through non-stop action with plenty of gore and flying body parts to delight you!

The end wraps up, leaving us in a good spot but the story is far from over. Evil is still out there and the ending hints at things to come….

William Dufris has become the voice of these characters. I find his narration enhances the battles, humor and helps set the tone.

While I reviewed the audiobooks in this series individually, I took advantage of the audio boxed sets. You can grab the first 3 full-length stories in the Vesik series on audio in one boxed set.

Did you say camaraderie and food? I am so there! I have been listening to LOTR so that’s what I am in the mood for. And it sounds like there is quite a big gang in this book! D: Happy you enjoyed x

I’m still trying to read the first one I got as a freebie somehow. I got sidetracked with the holidays and ARCs I needed to read. But I love this genre on audio and may just have to switch over to audio. Fantastic review!

It’s been a minute since I’ve read a demon or necromancer book. Thanks for putting this on my radar. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas, Kimba!

Hey Tyler, thank you, we did. The Royals came late Christmas Eve and spent the night. It was fun seeing them awaken for Santa’s arrival. I hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday and I wish you all the best in the new year!
