We are home and as with any time away, the catching up is always hard. We had a good trip, but it’s always nice to come home where the coffee taste best! I’ve been busy catching up on work, reviews, and laundry. I shared some pictures and details in the totally random section below. Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads. Stay Caffeinated!

Madeline Island, Lake Superior.  The largest island in the archipelago of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore; Madeline Island is a brief twenty-minute ferry ride from Bayfield, Wisconsin.

We enjoyed our time on the island. The scooters were loads of fun and an easy way to explore the island from end to end. We enjoyed walking the shoreline, hiking and took a three hour tour exploring Lake Superior and the different cave’s near Devil’s Island.

What beautiful pics Kim! It’s nice to get away, and then nice to be back home! I know what you mean about catching up. I always dread the loads of laundry that have to be done when returning home. I can’t wait to see what you thought of The Lemmon Sisters! I love Jill Shelves. Satisfaction Guaranteed and Moonstruck look good! Happy Reading Kim 🙂

  2. Lorna

Moonstruck! I can’t wait. And I hope you enjoy Time After Time. I probably would have broke my neck on the scooters but I bet it was fun! Glen you made it home safe!

  3. Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books

Gorgeous pictures! I’m glad you had a good trip and you’re not wrong about catching up after being away being the hardest!

The cover for Satisfaction Guaranteed gets me everytime I see it! Beautiful man with a cat… I’m in heaven, lol.

Beautiful pictures. Your trip looks like it was a good one. We are going to get home late Monday and then it’s back to work. One of those times I might need a vacation from vacation.
    Happy Reading/listening!

  5. Erin @ Cracker Crumb Life

Oo Lake Superior is beautiful! I have only viewed it from the Upper Peninsula though. I had read the Lake was high – did it seem so when you were there?

It looks like a wonderful trip!

Yes, it was very high. Even the Captain who took us out to explore the caves on Devil’s Island remarked about how high the water was. The worst part..a storm was coming in the afternoon we left and they were expecting significant rainfall. The only upside was that it might blow away the flies which were bloody awful.

Hope the catch up goes well. Time After Time is looking good. Reminds me of Cyndi Lauper’s song. Enjoy your new ones.

Oh my, that hot guy with the kitten caught my eye. The audiobook is intriguing. I’ve heard so much about Lauren Blakely but I’ve never read any of her books. I got her confused with Jennifer Laurens of whom I have read. I am happy that you got to spend some quality time with your hubby. Looks like you had a good time apart from the long island tea 🙂 Lol I wish I had a scooter.

Hello there! Haven’t visited your blog in a while (I’m getting back to blogging) and noticed you updated to profile pic. Everyone changed their blog a bit haha. That “Don’t Drink the Pink” book cover is actually really artistic, it’s arguably my favorite one out of your haul. Have a great week!

  9. Lola

It is always nice to be back home again after a trip, but the catching up can be hard. It looks like a pretty place judging form your pictures. Sounds like you had a fun time!

  10. Melissa (My World...in words and pages)

Oh, I hope you had a great trip! Sometimes you need a longer trip so you can get things back on track when you get home. lol. Take care!

  11. Jolene Wilson

Glad you had a great trip but I agree, coffee is best at home. Except I did love the instant coffee I had in Japan. I am going to ask my son to bring some home with him.

  12. A Voracious Reader

I’m so glad you enjoyed your time away. But you’re right. There’s no place like home with your own bed, your own stuff and, most importantly, your own toilet. lol

  13. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Nice! I’m ready for a vacation myself! I’ve a mini one coming up that will be good for me, but yeah, I still need something longer and whatnot! Lol.

Nice new reads too! All new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

Welcome back and glad to hear your trip was a good one. I totally get the stress that comes with arriving home and now having to ease into the old routine. I am a fan of the Merciful series and have #3 on my kindle. Talk soon!

Love the pictures! My daughter Graduated yesterday!! OMG, I cried! I have to try and slip a few pictures in my post in a few minutes to show everyone. Let me go do that. Have a great week Kim and I will try to come back and check out your posts!

I’m glad you had a good trip! Coming home is always the best isn’t it. Except for all the laundry obviously.. That’s one of those things I hate about going away.
Enjoy your week Kimberly & happy reading.

  17. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookworms

I’m happy you guys had a nice trip, Kim! But I totally agree – it’s always nice to come back home, even when we need to catch up on things when that happens 🙂
