Rain, rain go away. This past week it was freezing, windy and rainy. It got as low as 49° and we ended up turning the heat on for two days. It has warmed up again, but rain is predicted every day for the next ten days. Ugh! Family drama and heartache were on the menu this week. Mr. C and I need a vacation badly. How was your week? So sorry you have had to deal with family issues. I’d take your rain as I love the excuse of just holing up at home.

Despite some sun, we had rain and cold windy days too in Northern California. Enjoy your newbies.

Ugh! That’s way too much rain. I would rather have rain than snow, any day, but sunny and warm is preferable to both! I hope you can get some time off soon. Vacations are so important. I missed mine this year because of the broken leg, and now I’m desperate to get away, too!

Sorry to hear you are cold and rainy. The summer heat has started for us.
I’m with you looking for a vacation.
You’ve got new books I need to check out too.
    Happy Reading!

I hope you get some unexpected sunshine! Cold, rainy weather is not fun. I’m sorry to hear there’s been some drama and heartache in the family. I hope things get better soon!

  6. Lorna

We’ve had a lot of rain too. It’s in the high eighties today and going to get hotter later in the week. A tornado touched down and did damage about 15 minutes from here on Friday during a really bad storm. Scary. Sorry about your family drama. I know that feeling, but I guess everyone’s drama is different. Hang in there!

Weather has been iffy here, too. My week was busier than I would have wished. I took my car to the autoshop multiple times and fought with mechanics demanding they pay for a rim they claim they didn’t damage. In the end, I won. But it was ridiculous. I’m just glad it’s over

Too much rain! That’s only going to make the Midwest flooding worse. Is it still flooding around where you are? I hope you’re staying safe and dry. The weather has been lovely here, except for a few thunderstorms. But I’ve working long hours, so I haven’t had much time to enjoy it.

The comment about Dove soap and Dove chocolates gave me a much-needed laugh!

I’ve been having rain here, too, but it hasn’t gotten as cold as it is where you are, thank goodness. Sorry about the family drama; I hope it gets better soon. Happy reading!

sorry for the family drama ): vacation sounds wonderful. I hope everything works out for the best Kim

  11. Rachel

It’s been raining here in Southern California, too. Not a summery Memorial Weekend, that’s for sure. Boo on family drama! Hope you and Mr. C get to getaway soon!

I’m looking forward to your Summer Reading post! 🙂

Family drama can be the most stressful. We got to 86 yesterday but it’s supposed to be in the 70’s for the next few days. 70’s in May, I love it. The average high for this time of year is 90, so I’ll take this cooler weather.

I am so sick of rain too! We have have had sun the last 2 days but. more rain is in the forecast
    Have a great week!

  14. Sarah

It’s been rainy here too. I couldn’t say what it’s going to do for the next few days though; I don’t trust the weather people to predict further than a few hours in advance. Even then I take what they predict with a grain of salt.

  15. Vicki

Sorry to hear about the family drama and heartache &, the cold & rainy weather! I agree, Dove chocolate does taste better than the soap 🙂

  16. Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra

I’m sorry to hear about the bad weather and especially about the family drama. I hope things get better soon and that you and the hubby get that much-needed vacation soon.

  17. sjhigbee

Sorry about the family heartache:(. Been there – got the T-shirt… Doesn’t help when the weather is so dire, either! That is properly cold… I hope it all improves very soon and you and Mr C manage to get your holiday sometime in the near future.

  18. Lola

I am sorry to hear you had such bad weather this week with all the rain. Hopefully next week is better. The weather sure has been weird here too with ups and downs, this was a warm week again with little rain, but who knows what next week will bring. Sorry about the drama and heartache. I hope you can get that vacation soon. Have a great week!

  19. A Voracious Reader

I’m so sorry to hear about the family drama. Been there, will probably deal with it again. We’re enduring high temps and humidity here in NC. This is bullshit. NC is supposed to be a temperate state, but it hasn’t been that way for about a dozen years now. I hate it.

I hope the forecast changes and you have dry weather soon, Kim!

  20. Nick

Sorry to hear about the poor weather and the family drama, Kim! You should definitely plan on a fun vacation to take your mind off things. It’s supposed to rain here as well for the next few days and I’m not looking forward to it! >.<

  21. Sophie

I am so sorry to hear about the rain and the family drama Kimberly! I hope next week will be better for you weather wise and family wise!
And thank you for featuring my post this week!

  22. Liz @ Bent Bookworm

Ooooh nice haul for this week! Hope you enjoy your 3-day weekend. I’m sorry to hear there was drama this week…family drama sucks.

  23. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Our weather has been rainy as well, but not to the point where we need the heat on. It’s all AC from here on out! I hate summer. Lol.

Nice new reads! These are new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

Well I’m on vacation and I might need a vacation to get over the stress of traveling, finding healthy food, etc. I love to travel but it takes lots of energy. I hope this week is better and not as rainy as predicted. At home, it looks like a heat wave of 90s all week.

Oh, I’m so tempted to “borrow” your Dove comment since I have a bag of Dark Chocolate Dove Promises on the shelf behind me right now. *grin*

I’ve loved reading the Sunday Post and today I decided to actually begin taking part. I know I was longwinded this first post and hope that can be forgiven – but I was just so excited to be doing it. Thanks for hosting this chance for bloggers to get to know each other and their blogs a bit better. 🙂

  26. Natalie @Natflix&Books

We are definitely squarely in air conditioning season already. Hope the family drama subsides. Mirder On Thames looks interesting. Happy reading!

  27. Lindy@ A Bookish Escape

Hopefully the weather and things on the home front improve this week! Enjoy all of your new arrivals! I hope you and Mr. C end up getting that much needed vacation!

  28. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookworms

We finally got spring, and while it has rained at least every other day, we’ve had son sun every day.
I hope the family drama calms, and that you and Mr. C can get some rest.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading. ?

  29. Greg

Oh no! Family drama and lotsa rain- no fun. It’s been rainy and stormy here too, although today we (finally) had a nice day. Hope you have a nice long weekend Kimba!
