Spring Must Reads & Listens

As I dream of warmer days and long to step out into the sun after a blustery, dark winter I cannot help but think of upcoming releases I am pining for. Below you’ll find just a few of my most anticipated reads and listens…

Storm CursedStorm Cursed
by Patricia Briggs
Mercy Thompson #11
Releases May 7th
Goodreads | Amazon | Audible

In this new instalment in the No. 1 New York Times bestselling series, Mercy Thompson must face a deadly enemy to defend all she loves . . .

Mercy, her alpha and their back have given their word to protect..but a face off with the Gray Lords of the fae is eminent. A storm is coming and her name is Death. Squee! I get chills just thinking about and I know Briggs will deliver a nail-biting, heart tugging tale! I read this series, simply because I began before I became an audio addict and once I have created the voices in my head I stick to the same format.

The Rogue of Fifth AvenueThe Rogue of Fifth Avenue
by Joanna Shupe
Uptown Girls #1
Releases June 4th
Goodreads | Amazon | Audible

Silver-tongued lawyer.
Keeper of secrets.
Breaker of hearts.

He can solve any problem…

I loved the Four Hundred Club, and this appears to be during the same period. A female modern day Robin Hood and a young man trying to make his mark. Yes, please!

Wolfhunter RiverWolfhunter River
by Rachel Caine
Stillhouse Lake #3
Releases April 23rd
Goodreads | Amazon | Audible

She can’t ignore a cry for help. But in this remote hunting town, it’s open season.

I have loved this series since the beginning and despite getting the first book as a Prime Book, I’ve listened to them. Gwen Proctor and her children are in hiding, thanks to her serial killer husband. In this installment Gwen answers a cry for help. Caine is sure to deliver and I cannot wait!

MiddlegameMiddlegame
by Seanan McGuire
Releases May 7th
Goodreads | Amazon | Audible

New York Times bestselling and Alex, Nebula, and Hugo-Award-winning author Seanan McGuire introduces readers to a world of amoral alchemy, shadowy organizations, and impossible cities in the standalone fantasy, Middlegame.

If you follow my blog, you know I love whatever this author writes as herself or her alternate ego Mira Grant. I cannot wait to meet Roger and Dodger!

The BeyondThe Beyond
by Chloe Neill
Devil’s Isle #4
Releases June 4th
Goodreads | Amazon | Audible

Sensitive Claire Connolly must journey to another world in the electrifying fourth installment of Chloe Neill’s post-apocalyptic urban fantasy series.

I love the world and characters Neill has created in the Devil Isle’s series. Set in New Orleans I am excited to check in on Claire, Liam and the gang. The veil has been torn open and I am hoping for an intense read.

I am FINALLY reading Patricia Briggs. I am now on book three in the Mercy Thompson series. I am enjoying it so far! It is a great fit since I like the Chicagoland Vampires series.

I’m looking forward to Storm Cursed for sure. I need to listen to the first Stillhouse Lake book.
    I’ll check out the others.
    Thanks for the input.

  4. Carla

I have Wolfhunter River on my TBR and am really looking forward to it. I loved the first two in this series.

  5. Suzie Olsen

I need a spring break so I can read these all! Thanks for sharing spring must reads!

You’ve got a pretty good list here, and Spring is definitely right around the corner her, with temps being in the 70’s!

  7. Heidi

Yep I have all of those except the romance on my list. I can’t wait for the new McGuire and Briggs.

  8. Lily B

I’ve been slowly catching up on Mercy Thompson series 😀 patiently waiting the next book to arrive any day now

This is a great haul, Kimberly! I know we’ll acquire the Patricia Briggs book as Himself loves this series. I have read some of them – but sort of fell away at one stage. I have the arc of Middlegame and am looking forward to tucking into it:). I hope you really enjoy these books…

Storm Cursed is one of mine. You remind me that I want to start the Stillhouse Lake series.

Let’s see… I’ve got Who Slays the Wicked, Triple Jeopardy, The Savior, and Red White and Royal Blue as my most anticipated Spring releases.

looks like 2019 is shaping up to be an impressive year for books . Your picks though, they are so diverse I’m jealous

  12. Anne - Books of My Heart

I’m with you on Storm Cursed, Wolfhunter River and The Beyond. I haven’t managed to read Seanan McGuire although I know she’s a win, and Melanie and Robin review her. I don’t read much historical romance.

Are you being affected by the “rare bomb cyclone”? It’s blustery, snowy, cold here today. My kids got another snow day! So yes, reading about upcoming releases makes me happy and long for spring. 😉 I’m eager for Mercy, of course. Still need to read Caine’s series. 🙂

I can’t wait for the Briggs book! I have The Beyond as well and need to get to it soon. I need to try more McGuire books as well, I really like her October Daye series.

I have got to read some Rachel Caine.. I have seen her books a million times in my feeds and never have been able to get to her. For the most part, the reviews I’ve read have been pretty awesome.I can’t stand having such a big TBR list – I keep fretting about what I’m missing!
