Snow, Snow and more Snow. That was our week oh and add a little freezing rain and ice for good measure.  Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring and I hope that groundhog is in hiding, as many are declaring, “off with his head!” I completely forgot about March Take Control of Your TBR pile thanks to all my health issues. It will be back next year.  Stay Caffeinated.

Yup we are buried in snow too 🙁 cannot wait for spring! I was promised an early spring! I hope you feel better soon Kim!

  2. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

Reading your post makes me so glad that I don’t live in a place where it snows very much! We’ve had more than our share of rain but it’s still better than all that frozen stuff! I can definitely understand taking a break from Take Control. You’ve had a rough year so far. Hope you’re having a great week!

  3. Brandee @ (un)Conventional Bookworms

Ha! I somehow completely missed Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction but since I had more snow last week as well, I’m guessing there are some people upset with him. 🙂 I hope you’re continuing on the healing path and feeling better, Kim. Have a great week!

  4. Melanie Simmons

I hope you’re feeling better. We’ve had some snow here, but I don’t think as much as you had. One day last week, it took me 4xs as long to get to work. Wasn’t a lot of snow, but it came down hard right during rush hour. I should’ve just worked from home. *sigh*. I hope you have a great week.

Yeah, I’m super over winter. We normally have really mild, dry winters but it’s been subzero and wet. Counting down the days until spring!

  6. Kristin

Bwahahahaha… take control was forgotten.. I bet you face palmed that one…. NOT! You. Need. A Break. LoVe and HuGs.. Yep, I totally wrote that wrong. It’s what I do now just to annoy.

    I’ll stop immediately.

  7. MarthaE

I hope you are feeling better. Sorry you are dealing with a lot of snow with rain and ice.
Looks like you are continuing to read in several series that you like.
Enjoy your week with Happy Reading!

The snow covered car is so cute. I think Phil P was an imposter this year!!! I hope that you are feeling better!!

  9. Naomi Hop

    Hey Kimberly,
Life has gotten in the way for me to blog atm, so I think we can forgive you because you have been unwell! Hope you are doing a lot better.
The weather is cooling down here, but we had some very hot weather over the Christmas, New Year period! I’m looking forward to Autumn!

No one is amused by the weather right now. It rained here all week and was cold, better than MN but colder temps than average and the clouds just made me tired. Finally it is clearing up today.

We got some of the same ARCs. I requested Taken but am not approved yet I really hope you feel better soon. Have a better week with some amazing books!

Yeah, the cold has definitely been brutal here, too. I think it’s supposed to start getting at least a little bit warmer soon? Hopefully? I hope you stay warm this week!

  12. Sophia Rose

Ha, yeah, I think spring will be on time and not a minute early. Oops, oh well, next year on the Clean Up. Nice haul! I picked up Taken, too.

    Have a great week, Kimberly!

  13. Gayathri

I think I love winter more than you all only because our winter temperature is pathetic compared to yours? Yes the minimum we have here is like 12 C and that too at the nights. Still winter is receding and the warmer Spring is fast approaching, to my dismay. I hope you have a great week ahead.

  14. shooting

We didn’t really get snow last week – lots of rain and some ice. I know others have gotten tons though, like you, so hopefully that will be the end of it. I could use an early Spring!

  15. Mary @StackingMyBookShelves!

LOL with the car. Yeah, snow, snow and more snow. I hope it’s at it’s end. Today it’s foggy as heck here and chilly. I am inside today to do homework and get my notes together so it’s all good. I hope you have a good week and I plan on doing some more visiting! =)

  16. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

That VW bug photo made me laugh – thank you! It has just been rainy here since a little snow and ice early in the week… but Too. Much. Rain. I’m looking forward to some sunny skies whenever we can get them. I don’t care so much about the temperature, just a break from the rain!

Terrible weather here in Wisconsin today. The wind is fierce and the snow is blowing. Great day to stay inside with a book 🙂

  18. Lola

Sorry to hear you got more snow. We have had almost spring like weather for more than a week now, which is kinda nice. I hope you’ll have a nice week.

  19. bookworm

I hope you are feeling better and yes, I am so over winter. We’ve had freezing rain and ice here too these past weeks. Stay warm!

  20. Jolene Wilson

I also have Tudor’s new book. I am looking forward to it because I liked The Chalk Man. We had lots of snow this week too. A blizzard this weekend. Spring is around the corner right?

  21. A Voracious Reader

You’re getting all the snow and we’re getting all the rain. Ugh, ugh, and more ugh.

I hope the snow quits and soon for you, Kim. Should we make a sacrifice to Ma Nature? Maybe she needs coffee? Something, anything.

  22. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Yeah…I’m not blaming poor Phil for this weather! Lol. I read that the groundhog is usually hungry and usually ready to mate when he’s coming out of his hole. So he’s not really a good predictor of the weather to come. Much like the weatherman in fact! Lol! They have the same accuracy rate too, which was 28%!

These are all new to me reads, so I hope you will enjoy each and every one of them! Also hope you’re feeling better too! <3

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

We move had nothing but rain for about 9 days and I’m over it. I actually love the rain, but not this pouring for hours crap!!

  24. Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra

I was just ranting about the weather on my Sunday post. I’m so over winter. Hopefully we’ll get some spring-like weather soon or I’ll be adding my voice to those calling for Phil’s head, lol.

  25. Deb Nance at Readerbuzz

Our poor son and his wife and his wife’s parents all live up in the terrible cold of the North. We don’t know how they do it. Yes, our summers are hot, but, as my husband often says, “I never shoveled heat in my life.”

Here’s hoping your health problems and snow problems resolve themselves quickly this spring.

  26. Sophie

Well Kimberly you get pelted by snow and frost and it feels like spring here! The weather is totally nuts! I hope you’ll get your spring vibes soon enough! Have a happy Sunday (curled under a blankie with a book maybe?)

  27. Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books

I get jealous every time I see posts about snow. 🙁
We’ve had unseasonably warm temperatures this week which I don’t mind – it’s lovely and spring-like – but I’ll be so annoying when it goes back to the usual wintery drudge.

Snow! Hope it melts quickly for you, and that you feel better!

Someday the first of the Dresden Files will come through on my library request. It’s a long line!

We have two springs’ in Georgia so far…It seems we’re back into Winter again though. I ended up fighting the beginnings of a sinus infection this past week because of our “mini springs” which kicked off pollen counts that were insane. I miss normal sane weather.

Here’s hoping it levels out for the both of us and that we get some decent non-cold weather coming through soon.

  30. Greg

I like your title this week. So true. I hope you liked Polaris rising- I’ll have to watch for that review. I thought it was pretty good.

    Stay warm this week!
