Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.  See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

After the cold temperatures we experienced this week Spring is foremost on my mind. My son turns twenty-six this week. My babies are growing up.  I cannot even believe I am saying this, but I am still sick (yep, things went south last Sunday).  In January I read/listened to fourteen books and DNF’d one.  My scheduled posts which typically range between 20 and 30 have fallen to a record seven-year low. As of today I have 10 posts scheduled. Rather than stress myself out, I will post five days a week instead of six. This will continue until I am feeling better or reading more! I visited and comment on every blog that stopped by during the week, but slept rather than give a reply to posts on my blog.  I read them and apologize. I am counting the days until spring and trying to shake this persistent strep throat and sinus infection.  Stay Caffeinated.

Oh no, I am so sorry to hear that you aren’t doing too well anymore again 🙁 I really hope you recover and you don’t need to apologise for not replying to your comments and posting less. You recover and feel better first and foremost <3 And yay for getting another Sean McGuire book and Martha Wells too as I know you liked the previous books in those series 😀

I’m so proud you for taking a step back and allowing yourself to take two days off a week. You have more than earned it. I know how hard you push yourself, but it’s nice to see you putting yourself as the priority. 🙂 Feel better, Kimba.

  3. Stephanie @ Once Upon a Chapter

Oh no Kimberly! I can’t believe you’re still having to fight that illness. 🙁 I REALLY hope you get to feeling better (as I’m sure you do too!). I know it’s hard not too but don’t stress yourself about the blog. We’ll still be here when you’re done kicking this sick bug’s butt!

  4. Tanya @ Rantings of a Reading Addict

OH that sucks that you haven’t managed to shake that crap you’re dealing with! What a miserable way to spend a winter. BUT spring will be here soon and hopefully the beautiful weather will be just what your body needs to do it’s healing! That Totally Random is SO me!

  5. Nise'

So sorry to hear that you are still fighting sickness! Sending you powerful thoughts and prayers of healing! Take time and rest! Happy Birthday to your son.

  6. MarthaE

So sorry you are still under the weather. It is strange to see our children grow. Both of mine are over 30 now!
Definitely don’t need to stress about your blog posts.
More Martha Wells – good for you.
Stay Warm, rest up and Happy Reading!

Oh gosh, I’m so sorry that you’re still sick. I hope that you get better soon, and don’t worry about comments and the like. Do what you can. My mom had bronchitis that turned into pneumonia. It’s crazy!

Sorry to hear things to a turn for the worst for you. My son was sick last weekend and well everyone in the household got it and I’ve been battling a head cold this last week and still have this weekend. No fun! Enjoy your book haul. Happy Reading!

  9. lisa thomson

Hope you’re feeling better soon, Kim. You’re wise to cut back on the blog and get more rest. 😛 Looking to catch up myself in the blog world. It’s time consuming but at the same time really fun to stay in touch.
I’ll be adding Beneath the Sugar Sky to my TBR. Happy Sunday to you!

I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well. This thing has been going on entirely too long. I hope you start to feel better soon. I hope it will be better this week. I think the weather across the country is supposed to be better, so maybe that will help

Oh, Kimberly, I’m so sorry you’re still fighting this thing! There’s a nasty strain out there; Robin had it over Christmas vacation. I hope they can find an antibiotic that will finally knock it out so you can start feeling better.

Happy birthday to your son! And don’t worry about cutting back on the blog. We all love you and just want you to get better!

I’m so sorry you’re still not feeling better. I hope this infection goes away soon, and that spring comes sooner too. I also had to skip on writing some posts because my hand has been bothering me a lot this week due to the cold, so I’m also wishing for warmer weather. I definitely didn’t read as much as I’d hoped for in January, but hopefully I’ll be on track in February. Happy reading and have a great week!

  13. sjhigbee

Oh no! I’m so sorry that you are STILL poorly… and don’t worry about dropping by – get back on your feet. And yes – some children’s birthdays hit harder than others, don’t they? I VERY MUCH hope that this week is the turning point!

  14. Jinjer

People who are sick are under no obligation to reply to comments on their blogs. LOL Gosh, you sure are having a time shaking this beast of a cold or flu or whatever. So sorry! Hope you’re feeling better soon.

  15. Sam@wlabb

I am right there with you counting down to spring. Phil says it’s coming early. Let’s hope the little guy was right. Our kids have similar birthdays – my daughter will be 24 tomorrow. I haven’t celebrated with her since she turned 18, but I will be thinking of her. I am so sorry that you are under the weather. I hope you can get the rest you need and shake this quickly.

Happy birthday to your son! Hope life eases up for you, especially as spring is around the corner!

  17. Anne - Books of My Heart

I am so sorry. In 1997 I was sick all the time January until May 10. Every time I went off antibiotics it was back 1-2 days later. I am not sure if it was spring or the fact the last round was a newer, stronger antibiotic. I hated it and I hate this for you.

On the plus side, you have Rogue Protocol! And so many other good reads. I truly hope you are better soon. Do what you need to do to take care of you. I still recommend lots of fluids and rest.

There is so much sickness going around, and, once you get sick, the sickness tends to linger. Fortunately, today at church is the feast day of a saint and the priest offered blessings to ward off “diseases of the throat.”

  19. Sophia Rose

Wow, when the baby is 26… yeah, time keeps going for sure. Oh man, the sickies still after all the rest and treatments.. Poor Kimberly!
No worries about taking the post frequency down a bit or not visiting while you rest. 🙂

Oh, look, my buddy Murderbot. 🙂

    Have a better week, Kimberly!

  20. Abby

I’m so sorry you’ve been sick all this time. I’m glad you’re getting more rest, and hopefully you feel better soon!

  21. Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra

I was really hoping to come here and see that you were continuing to feel better. I’m so sorry to hear that’s not the case. I really hope that February brings you good health. Like you, I’m counting the days to spring and warm weather. I’m so over the cold.

  22. bookworm

I hope you feel better soon and get to rest.
Happy birthday to your son and thanks for hosting even though you have been unwell xo

  23. Lola

I am sad to hear you’re still sick. I really hope you can kick that sickness soon. That sounds like a good idea to do less posts a week so they ones you have scheduled lasts longer. I hope you’ll have a great week!

  24. A Voracious Reader

    I am so sorry you’re having a tough time kicking the crud to the curb. I need to come and lend my pointy-toed boots to help you out. I know this is easier said than done, but just take it easy. It sounds like you are, so keep it up until it’s really truly gone. And remember, as sick as you’ve been you’re still outblogging me. I think I have 1 post scheduled (hope to do 2 today) and I read 11 books for January of which 1 was a DNF, 1 a graphic novel and 2 were Stephanie Plum, so super easy to read. lol I hope your week goes smoothly, Kim. {{{extra posivibes}}}

  25. Yvonne

We’re all talking about spring here too. Especially after last week’s cold temps. Don’t worry about commenting, just take care of yourself and hopefully you will finally start feeling better soon. Have a great week!

  26. Michelle @Because Reading

You poor dear! I can’t believe you are still not feeling well. You need a warm day to air out the house and burn some sage.

Even sick you still rocked your Jan with 14 books. That is great. Berls and I cut back on your posting and only do 3 each a week. If we don’t get 3 it’s ok, we are taking it light this year to not burn out again! 🙂

I hope you feel better and this week is awesome for you, Kim! Happy Reading! xx

  27. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Oh don’t feel bad about not commenting! When I get sick I rarely ever blog, so I admire you for doing so much still! I hope you feel better soon! Being sick for this long has got to be rough. Sending healthy thoughts your way!

Nice new reads too! Once again, some totally new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy them all!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

What a drag you are feeling unwell. I hope you can give yourself a break. Thank you for all you do! I hope this blog helps to cheer you in your misery (I know mine always does.)

  29. Natalie @Natflix&Books

There is absolutely nothing wrong with putting your health in front of your blog. There are weeks where I just post once. There are weeks when I don’t post anything because I just couldn’t find the time. Your health and well being are first and foremost. You are I my thoughts and I hope you feel better soon!!

  30. Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books

Oh, I’m so sorry your back under! I really hoped you were starting to see the light and would be lurgy free now. 🙁
Dropping down to 5 posts a week to conserve back posts and keep things ticking is a good idea. You don’t need the added stress further suppressing your immune system.
Look after yourself and stay warm.

It sucks that you’re still sick! I keep sending healing vibes your way, and I hope you’ll be able to shake this illness quickly.
I’m kind of ready for spring, too. We got so much snow on Friday, there’s still some left today – and it’s all wet and grey outside…
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy listening. Get enough rest! <3

Don’t worry about replying. In fact these days I barely visit blogs anymore because my fatigue levels almost always keep me in zombie state. I can understand what you mean so well.
And I’ve read 13 books, but for me, it’s a high rather than a low 😀
I hope you feel better soon though and can read a number that’s closer to your usual one 🙂

Kimberly I am so sorry to hear that you still are unwell! I understand you wishing for spring already! Now I also struggled with replying to comments even if I also visited and commented everyone who had left comments on the blog. I hope next week will be kinder for you!

  34. Greg

Aww that sucks that you’re still fighting that thing off! Must be frustrating! Hoping you feel better this week- and yes bring on spring! Good Lord this last week of winter was awful!!!

Love that Totally Random! 🙂 And I have The Au Pair and Watcher in the Woods coming up to read, and I’m super excited for both!

  35. Heidi

I am sorry you are still sick. Don’t stress over the blog we all get it. I go through bursts where I am really productive and then days when I can’t write a review. I am more than ready for spring. Let’s hope the ground hog is right and that an early spring is indeed on the way. Feel better, Hugs.

  36. Laurel-Rain Snow

Oh, wow, hope you finally start to feel better!

I am betting that you will love Verity as much as I did…and I’m eyeing The Au Pair.

    Thanks for sharing…and for hosting.

  37. Rachel

It’s terrible to be sick, but to be sick that long is just awful! I hope you get better soon!

I just got a library copy of the first book in the Dresden Files, but I’m waiting for the audio version to come through from the library before I pick it up.

  38. Michelle Gilmore

Oh no! I hope you feel better!

I have a grand total of….0 post scheduled! This is coming from someone who once upon a time had months and months scheduled, now I can barely handle getting up a week ahead of time. I’ll be in a panic this week for sure, lol.
