This week we had snow, howling winds and bitter cold temperatures. The one time I ventured out I fell! A little stiff but thankfully nothing broken. I finished my medication and while I still have congestion and feel drained I am doing much better. I’ve continued my Dresden audio marathon. I’ve been going to bed before 9 pm and following doc’s orders and behaving myself. Saturday, the Royal Princess turned four, and we celebrated with a unicorn cake. She was disappointed that she cannot be five, but all had a good time.  Stay Caffeinated.

SO glad you didn’t hurt yourself when you fell. That is always a fear of mine in the winter. Glad I don’t deal with that much in TX. I hope you continue to improve and get back to yourself. I’m typically in bed before 9 too. I don’t get much done in the evening after work. I think all the stress just wipes me out.

Have a great week and gobble up some great books!

  2. Stefanie

Glad you didn’t break or strain anything in that fall. If I fall around here it’s either because of a slippery bathroom floor or I’ve turned my ankle a few times while out during my running days.

Thank goodness you’re feeling much better these days, and what a blessing that you didn’t break anything with that fall. I’ve been watching the news and seeing all the chilling temps. I used to live in ND in the Air Force and remember having to use a blow torch to get into my cold due to the freezing ice. These are the best days to read or watch Netflix. Sending some hugs your way! RO

Happy birthday to the Princess! Oh no about the fall. Glad you are recovering, and I hope you are staying warm. Go Dresden Files! I love that series so much!

Happy birthday Princess Sophia! I can’t believe she’s already four. I started following this blog before you had any royals. They have brought so much joy to your life. Glad to hear your on the mend.

  6. Daniela Ark

Awww happy birthday to Royal Princess! I bet she totally loved her unicorn cake. Unicorns are fabulous! 🙂
UGH Snow! That reminds me we haven’t had much snow yet! I should shut up though before I jinx it! LOL Glad to hear the medication is working and you are doing better! Stay away from the bitter cold and howling winds KIM 🙂

  7. Lorna

That cake looked amazing. She’s getting to be a big girl. And a cutie! Falling isn’t fun and I do my share! So glad nothing broke and that your illness is getting better as well. Stay warm!

  8. MarthaE

I’m glad you are starting to feel better. The BD sounds like fun.
Your new books look like ones I would like.
I love the coffee image – makes me think of Charlie Davidson. 🙂
    Happy Reading!

  9. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

I saw the Princess’s unicorn cake on FB (or maybe Instagram?) — adorable! I’m keeping you and your health in my prayers, because you’ve had way more than your fair share of being sick this winter.

Sorry I was late posting and stopping by — I woke up with a stomach bug this morning and didn’t realize that my Sunday Post had been scheduled for tomorrow. Oops! (Don’t worry, I’m feeling a bit better this evening.)

Have a good week, and may your health improve!

Ooh sorry about the fall – I’m glad nothing is broken, and yay for starting to feel better. Happy Birthday to Sophia!! My niece had a unicorn cake last year; they are so cute.

Happy 4th to Princess Sophia!! Such a fun age. Glad you are feeling better. Just started Nightchaser.

  12. Angela

Happy Birthday to the little Princess. It sounds like you’re on the mend. Hopefully you get better.

Happy birthday to the royal princess! Your comment about her disappointed she’s not five cracked me up. Lol. It sounds like you’re on the mend, so I’m sending well wishes for you to make it all the way to feeling awesome again.

Happy Birthday to Princess Sophia! And I am glad that you weren’t injured! Our weather just got snowy and blowy and cold. I love winter but I don’t like people get hurt or in accidents from the snow. 🙁

  15. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

Sorry to hear about your fall and glad you weren’t hurt too badly. I stepped out on the back deck one time without realizing it was icy and fell right on my butt. Luckily I caught the corner of the brick stoop as I went down. It took the skin off but I didn’t break my tail bone so I guess that’s a win. How is Princess Sophia 4?? A unicorn cake sounds like the perfect way to celebrate. Have a great week and stay warm!

  16. Lindsi

I’m sorry you fell, but I’m glad you’re okay! It doesn’t snow here, and I’ve never experienced a snowstorm. My son would probably love it, because he asks me often when he’ll be able to build a snowman. He keeps telling me it’s cold, but it’s not COLD.

Is that a new Amanda Bouchet series, or an old one? I’ve read one of her series before and enjoyed it, although I didn’t like the ending. 😉

Yay for feeling a little better. Glad the fall wasn’t worse. Ah, cute birthday cake and wish. Reminds me of all the half-ing and three-quartering we did as kids to sound older.

Butcher marathoning sounds like a fun thing. 🙂

    Have a great week, Kimberly!

I’m glad you are feeling a little better and be careful out there!
Happy birthday to the little one 🙂 Happy reading, and yes to coffee!

  19. Stephanie Jane (Literary Flits)

Oh no, sorry to hear you took a tumble. Thank goodness no serious injury though.
I’m envious of Princess Sophia’s unicorn cake. That sounds fab. As to wanting to be five already, I can hear one of my Mum’s favourite sayings: ‘Don’t go wishing your life away. You’re a long time old’

Yikes! Hope you feel better! We were hit with a terrible snow storm last weekend, and I almost fell a handful of times, too

Oh my. I’m glad you didn’t get hurt when you slipped. I slipped early last week too. When I stepped off our deck with the dog, I slipped on the mud and fell right in it. I wasn’t hurt, physically. Pride a little bruised. lol. But I was covered in mud and had to was all my clothes and jacket. Ugh. we are covered in white stuff now. *sigh*

Take care! And happy birthday to little princess.

  23. Tonyalee

We had some cold temperatures and snow this week. I also prefer snow over the ice. I am sorry to hear you fell, that’s good you didn’t break anything tough. And happy birthday to the princess! I am glad to hear you’re doing better and I hope next week is even better for you.

  26. Sophie

Kimberly I am happy to ear that you feel better! And as far as the princess is concerned …we know that when she’ll turn 30 she’ll pretend to still be 29 LOL Have a great Sunday!

  27. sjhigbee

I am delighted to hear that you are feeling a lot better, but just take it really easy for the next week or so – your immune system will be struggling and you have been poorly for a long time. Poor little Princess! It’s so hard to explain to them at that age they can’t by-pass a particular age and jump forward. I recall my son breaking his heart when he realised he would never catch his sister up to be twins with her… Have a better week, Kimberly!

  28. Mary @StackingMyBookShelves!

Awww Happy Birthday to her! Tell her not to rush it, they start to come faster and faster. I am glad to hear you are feeling better. I have a bit of a break and will be checking out some reviews today! Sorry, if you get a bunch of comments from me today. Have a wonderful week Kim!

Awww, Princess Sophia will be 5 before she knows it. lol

I hope you have a fantastic non-snowyblisterycold week, Kim!

  30. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Glad to hear you’re feeling a little better, and omg, so glad you’re okay after that fall! Falling during winter is scary with all that ice! A belated Happy Birthday to the Princess! That’s so funny she’s wishing she was older, this is a moment to remember for when she is older and wishing she was younger! Lol.

Nice new reads! I still want to read Nightchaser myself but it will have to wait until I finish Amanda’s first series! Hope you enjoy the new reads!

    Here’s my STS
