I’m also catching up on blog reading! I fell down on the job last week and it completely slipped my mind. Now I’m taking the morning to visit everyone. Sorry to hear you’re still sick! I hope that medication starts working soon.
Daniela Ark

Barbara Strickland
Love to have a real coffee with you one day
Stefanie
I know you love your grandchildren and you’re a devoted grandmother but it is my opinion that you should rest and take it easy when you are in this condition.
Tyler H. Jolley
Well, you’re consistent with your Januarys. 🙂 I hope you’re better soon. Happy reading!
Dani @ Perspective of a Writer
Hi Kimberly…. It does seem to be that season… and this time the cold is lingering for weeks! Happy reading, blog hopping and scheduling… its good you can do that feeling under the weather. <3

I hope you can shake the strep. Your new arrivals have my mouth watering. I can’t wait to read more Shalvis and Hoang.
MarthaE
So sorry that strep is hanging on. I hope you can get enough rest this week to knock it out.
You have some book reviews this week I need to peek at. Your four new books look like ones you’ll enjoy. All audiobooks? Got to look listening! Happy Reading!
ShootingStarsMag
I hope you feel better soon! I’ve been dealing with a sore throat, but it’s more at night, which is strange, but hopefully it will go away soon. Definitely the time of the year for sickness – not fun! I’m glad you’re getting lots of books in though. 🙂

Sending you good thoughts that the new medication will kick that strep out! Looking forward to your thoughts on Untouchable
Angela @ Simply Angela
I’ve had it too and it will go away for a week and them it’s back again. It’s been horrible. I’ve been living on elder flower and lemon tea. Hope you start feeling better.
The Au Pair looks like it will be a good read!
Kimberly
Oh no. I am so sorry. Yep, I finish my meds, and two days later I am full blown sick again.
Sophia Rose
Oh no… Facebook do a facepalm.
Glad you’ve been able to get some quiet work done and some reading/listening.
Nice haul. I’ve seen a lot of people eager for that Blake Crouch.
Have a good week, Kimberly!
Kimberly
Oh yes, I meet him at BEA and he is such a lovely person. I cannot wait to devour this one!
Laura @ Library of Clean Reads
So sorry that you’re still sick! I hope you get better soon and not get worse like last year.
Kimberly
Thank you Laura. I hope by next weekend I will report I am healthy??
Mary @StackingMyBookShelves!
I am so busy and so tired. I am unsure if I should just sleep for the day and night or work on my school stuff but something has got to give. I didn’t even get a chance to update my Sunday Post for this week, so that is all messed up. Uggh, I need a break.
Have a good week.
Mary
Kimberly
Awe I am so sorry Mary. Sending you some peaceful thoughts!
Lorna
I think one of the ladies I live with has strep as well. If not she’s got the worse sore throat. I feel sorry for you. January’s are not your friend! Feel better!
Kimberly
Eek…she should get tested. First it is contagious and two dangerous if left untreated. Apparently the flu this year has a sore throat as a major symptom.
Lorna
She has an appointment tomorrow but we got a lot of snow so I am not sure if she will go. We’ve all had flu shots.
Kimberly
I had flu shot too, but they are saying one with the sore throat not covered by shot.
Lorna
I’ll tell her thanks!
Angie Elle
I’m sorry that you are sick and hope the stronger meds help.
Oh, man. The Bride Test! I would be diving right into that one.
Thanks for sharing.
Kimberly
Soon, very, soon on The Bride Test!
Sophie
I am so sorry about your sore throat Kimberly! I hope you’ll get better soon! And ….OMG you got the Bride Test! I am so not green with jealousy right now!!!
Kimberly
Bride Test was one of my most anticipated. I am hoping it rocks!
Aj @ Read All The Things!
Sorry you’ve been sick. I hope you feel better soon! Have a great week.
Kimberly
From your fingers to god’s ears!
Ruby @ Ruby's Books
Wow three Januarys in a row? Also, bad facebook! they shouldn’t do that, that is mean! Feel better soon. I do think there’s something in the air though, even across continents, because I too have a nasty flu that if it doesn’t go away, it will suck my soul out. I’ve read very few books so far, just 3. Hopefully I’ll catch up starting next week, or at least as soon as my flu breaks up with me. Have a great week and I hope you get well soon 🙂
Kimberly
I am so sorry about the flu. I got the flu shot but a nasty strain is going around that it didn’t cover. Boo, Get better soon Ruby!
Jennifer | Book Den
You’ve had it rough with being sick! I hope you get well soon.
Kimberly
Thank you Jen!
Abby
I hope you feel better soon! It’s never fun being sick, especially when it’s so cold out.
Kimberly

Kimberly
Loved Nevermore. Enjoy Jennifer!
Stormi Johnson
Sorry to hear you are still sick and that mean ole facebook reminding you of your sicknesses, shame on it. 🙂 Hope you get to feeling better soon! At least you are getting in some great audio time! 🙂
Kimberly
Bwahaha..yes Facebook was mean.
Anne
I am so very sorry you have been sick. I hate that so I am never sick. I do recommend lots of fluids. I had strep once (March 18, 1997) and it was horrid. I was miserable. I hope you feel amazing again very soon.
You have lots of great reviews coming up this week. I love them but they also often add to my TBR which is getting unwieldy. Anne – Books of My Heart
Kimberly
I have not had strep since i was a teen in the early 80’s. I don’t remember it being this painful but holy shite, it’s like I swallowed crushed glass.
Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
Sorry you can’t shake the strep throat (and that you always manage to be sick in January). Hope you recover soon!
Kimberly
Me too Nichole, me too!
Jolene Wilson
Sorry you are still sick. I work in a school and there are lots of sore throats and fever going around. Hope you kick its butt soon.
Kimberly
Eek! I saw a lot of folks with the flu and apparently this year’s has a sore throat, but I tested negative. Again the flu shot doesn’t cover the strain we are seeing.
A Voracious Reader
This is all my fault. I’ve been so busy with Artemis that I slacked off on my {{{posivibes}}}. I’ll do better, I promise! 😀
Oh, those Facebook memories are sometimes funny, sometimes sweet, sometimes bittersweet, and sometimes f*ck off FB. lol
Kimberly
Haha yes, and darn it. I wondered what happen but to be fair Artemis is cute and distracting!
Mary Kirkland
Sorry you’re still feeling poorly. I hope you feel better soon.
Kimberly
Thank you Mary.
Sam Rinaldo
Being sick is the worst! I hope you feel better soon!
Kimberly
I whole heartly agree Sam!
Melissa (My World...in words and pages)
Oh no! Hope you feel better. And the little ones are adorable. Take care!
Kimberly
Awe, thank you. The Royals make me smile and fill my heart.
Nick
Have you tried any non-Western/ayurvedic medicine for your health, Kim? I know they may not be for everyone, but they helped my dad get rid of a chronic condition a few years ago. I read The Bride Test and really loved it. Enjoy your books, and feel better soon, Kim.
Kimberly
I have done acupuncture to help with my arthritis and once I tried something for colds and ended up making my blood pressure rise..oops. I am open to trying them, I just consult my doctor first to be sure nothing in them will negate my meds. I am glad you enjoyed the Bride Test. I DNFed one of my most highly anticipated romances and I am nervous!
Natalie @Natflix&Books
Hope you feel better soon! I had a nasty cold over New Years, but nothing as serious as strep. The Bride Test is on my TBR. It looks like a fun one. Happy reading!
Kimberly
I hope that is all behind you Natalie. Have a great week!
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
Strep throat is no fun. I hope the stronger antibiotic works for you and you soon feel better. Enjoy the Royals and those new books!
Kimberly
Me too. I should have known because in-between doses of the previous antibiotic my throat would hurt again. Ah well.
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Oh wow, that’s bizarre to have been sick the past three Januarys! I hope you feel better soon!
Nice new reads too! Totally new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy them all!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!

My Doctor informs me I overdo it for the holidays and run myself down and in return send out invitations to all the viruses that there is a party at my house!
Melanie Simmons
I’m sorry your still not feeling good. We got 4.5 inches of snow yesterday. Hope you start to feel better soon.
Kimberly
Nice. Enjoy the winter wonderland. i have not gone out in it since it is also bitter cold.
Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra
I hope the stronger medication does the trick and that you’re feeling 100% soon. And yay for getting a copy of The Bride Test! Can’t wait to hear what you think of that one.
Kimberly
You and me both. Thanks Suzanne!
Jan @ Notes from a Readerholic
I’m so sorry you still have strep throat, Kimberly. I hope the stronger meds help. You got some good looking books this week and I hope you enjoy them! Hope this is a good week for you.
Kimberly
I see you got your snow. We had about 7 inches. It is a winter wonderland out there but very cold.
Michelle @Because Reading
Sorry you are still not feeling good. I hope this week brings you lots of rest so you can feel better! <3 xx
Kimberly
Thanks Michelle, one day at a time!
Yvonne
I’m so sorry you are still sick. I hope you can finally get rid of it and be healthy again! Your new arrivals look great. I loved The Au Pair. Hope you do too. Have a great week!
Kimberly
I am about 60% in to Au Pair and agree. Thanks Yvonne!
Lola
I hope you can shake the strep throat soon, sorry to hear you’re still dealing with that. I also listened quite a bit this week as my audiobook was awesome and I struggled to find the right kind of read in my ipad. Have a great week!
Kimberly
I love when an audiobook is good, and it keeps you listening!
Aleen @ Lampshade Reader
Sorry that you’ve been sick. Hope you feel better soon.
Kimberly
Hi Aleen. Thank you. My throat feels a little better today and I am finally draining..which while unpleasant is a good thing.
Angela Adams
There’s a bug going around, and unfortunately lots of folks are having a hard time shaking it. Hang in there, Friend, and I hope you feel better soon.
Kimberly
I am hanging! Thanks Angela
sjhigbee
Urg… so sorry to hear you aren’t shaking off that throat infection. Hopefully, now you have changed your medication, you’ll be able to get back your bounce – easier said than done with two small children to care for… but do try to get some rest, Kimberly.
As for Facebook – aren’t they the giddy limit?? I personally LOATHE their grotty little habit of arbitarily reminding me of memories, without taking the time to ask first. I hope the coming week is a lot betterx
Tanya @ Girl Plus Books
Ugh, hope you get some relief from the strep soon, Kim!
Grace @ Rebel Mommy Book Blog
Ugh to being sick. Hope the stronger meds help! You got some great review books – they are all on my TBR!! Have a great week!
Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books
It sucks you’re still ill. 🙁 I hope this week is the week you can finally say ‘better!’.
Enjoy your audios. I’ve just started my first book of the audiobook challenge and much to my surprise, I’m enjoying it! Audiobooks have not been my friend in the past.
Kimberly
I am so happy to hear listening is going well Nicci!
hillary
Oh no!! I hope you feel better! It is strange how if your immune system is lacking you get sick and if it is “too strong” it will attack itself then it is a toss up on what nasty autoimmune system disorder you will get. I hope you feel lots better soon. A lot of people I know are either getting sick with stuff like the flu, and other people are getting autoimmune system crap. I wonder what is up with that? lol
Kimberly
I have an autoimmune issue, which makes me more likely to catch things. In those virus dystopias we read about ….i will be in the first wave that die. LOL
Stephanie Jane (Literary Flits)
Well, that’s particularly heartless of Facebook!!
At least you’re finding the energy to get lots of book listening done so there’s a small Bright Side
Kimberly
That was my feeling too. When I am so sick I can’t read or listen, then it is bad.
Irena BookDustMagic
Hi Kimberly,
I’m sorry to hear you’re still sick and I hope you will get better soon.
I wish you a lovely week ahead!
Kimberly
Thanks Irena!
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookworms
I’m sorry you have a strep throat! Sending you healing vibes, my friend.
You got some nice-looking books last week, I hope you’ll enjoy them.
And of course, Oscar Wilde is totally right 😉
Feel better, and have a wonderful week ahead.
Kimberly
Bwahaha….thank you Lexxie!
Rachel
Hey Kimberly! Gosh, strep throat can really sideline you! Hope you feel better!
I really want to read The Bride Test after loving The Kiss Quotient! Hope we both enjoy it. 🙂
Kimberly
The Kiss Quotient was so good. Thanks Rachel!
Tika
Strep throat is the absolute worst! I just got over a terrible cold and it just started snowing today, so I’m pretty much crossing my fingers and toes that I don’t get sick again. You seem to still be on a roll though, you have some great posts lined up for the week and I see that you received The Bride Test, I can’t wait to see what you think about it. Hopefully, you’ll feel all better soon, stay warm!
Kimberly
I am hoping the Bride Test rocks..I adored her first book. Strep is awful. I don’t remember it hurting so much when I was a teen.
Maureen Bakker
So sorry to hear you’re strep throat still isn’t over! That really sucks! I hope the new medication will help soon!
Looks like you reviewed some awesome new books this upcoming week! I’ll check them out 😉
Kimberly
I am sorry too..LOL The Doctor said they are seeing some resistant strands. I am hoping this works and will hopefully see relief in the next 48 hours.
Laura Thomas
I was sick for the last three holidays so I know how you feel. I sure hope the new meds set your right and you feel like yourself again soon, Kimberly.
Kimberly
I hope they work too. I am so congested and man it hurts to swallow. I am having one hell of a pity party. We got hit with snow, so after a trip to the doctors on Saturday, I stayed in bed.
Laura Thomas
It’s good to have a pity party once in a while:) Happy snuggling in:)
Siran
Facebook is going to give us many reminders whether we want them or not. When I felt like I was getting sick I drank the Emergen-C. I don’t swear by it but it help me. I hope you feel better.
Kimberly
Fixed the typos for you *winks* Yes, I’ve used Emergen-C myself and found it helps with the common cold.
Michelle @ In Libris Veritas
I hope you get better soon! Stay warm and cozy!
Kimberly
Thanks Michelle. All bundled up with my wool socks. It is freezing here, and we had snow.
Greg
I can’t believe it either about January. Time’s flying in the new year! And wow you have had quite the strep throat! I hope you are better soon. And stay warm- if it’s anywhere near as cold there as it is here!
I’m thinking of trying Dannika Dark at some point, and looking forward to the Au Pair as well!
Kimberly
Strep is painful. I haven’t had it since I was a teen, but apparently my Doctor said it’s been prevalent and persistent. Love Dark! I hope you do. Start with the Mageri series.
Vinny
Feel better soon, Kimberly! And I’m looking forward to read your review of The Au Pair. It’s one of my most anticipated for this year!
Kimberly
I am listening to it now…so far it is superb.
Laurel-Rain Snow
Oh, I hope you feel better soon.
I am eyeing The Au Pair. Enjoy!
Kimberly
Thanks Laurel. I am listening to it now.
