Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.  See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Welcome 2019! I finished out my Goodreads Goal with 258/250 Not bad for a rather rough year. For 2019 I posted a goal of 200. However, I may increase that in July. I did it as I’d like to post discussions and such on Caffeinated. Usually I run out of room because of all the reviews I have. We shall see.

My blog vacation is ending and I will be back tomorrow. As per usual I spent most of my unplugged time sick. My sinus infection wasn’t enough, so I added ear infections and strep throat to the mix. I was asleep before the New Year ball dropped. Thankfully, I did not have the Royals this week, so I could rest and listen to audiobooks.  The Princess turns four this month. Can you believe it? On a funny note, she informed us she is skipping four and will be five instead. ? Stay Caffeinated.

I bet authors smile and laugh when they kill them off! Also, 258 books in a year is a rough year?!?! That sounds like one amazing reading year to me! I hope you can blow your 200 books goal out of the water this year 😉

Ugh, Kimba, I’m so sorry you started the new year sick. Congrats on crushing your goal! I’m knew you’d make it. Can’t wait to see what 2019 brings.

  3. Laura @ Library of Clean Reads

Oh boy, I hope you get better quickly and that it does not linger like last year. I did not meet my GR goal this year and I tend to forget to update my account. I’m working on changing that this year. Enjoy your reading and listening week!

  4. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

Strep and an ear infection too? That’s no fun at all. Here’s hoping the coming week finds you feeling much better.

258 books is amazing! My hat is off to you. Can I borrow those extra 8 books? That’s how many I missed my goal by, LOL!

The Princess is so cute! Sounds like she’s in a hurry to grow up.

  5. Daniela Ark

258 books wohoooo that’s awesome Kim! Sorry to hear you were sick 🙁 thank god you were able to rest and listen to audiobooks. Wow! Princess is four! I remember when she was born! TIme flies! HAHA I love how she chooses how old to be 🙂 Happy New Year! Hope this year is absolutely awesome for you 🙂

  6. MarthaE

It’s so aweful to have to deal with sinus infections. I hope it ends soon and that you get good reading in even so. Thank goodness for audiobooks.
    Happy Reading and Listening!

  7. ShootingStarsMag

Your granddaughter is too cute. Well, four or five, I hope she has a great birthday! LOL I’m glad you’re feeling better, and whew, I don’t know you read so many books!

  8. Nise'

Out of the mouth of babes! They bring such joy don’t they? I hope that you are feeling better.

  9. Angela (Angel's Guilty Pleasures)

LOL skipping 4 and moving onto 5. That’s a good one. Great job on reading over you goal for books. Sorry about the strep, sinus, and ear. Not fun. Hope you feel better.
Have a great week! Happy New Year

  10. Anne

Well I’m sorry you were so sick – stop doing that! My daughter was sick too. She is finally feeling a bit better – I hope you are too. Oh you have some great books coming up in your reviews this week. I have the first Sherry Thomas audio from the library – now I just have to listen to it. I finished 2 audios this weekend while knitting , cooking, doing errands so hopefully I can keep it going. I’m already started on the 3rd. Thanks for the Dannika Dark input. That is one of the series on Audible Romance and I plan to listen as part of my Backlist challenge. Have a great week!

  11. S. J. Pajonas

Ugh, I’m so sorry to hear you spent more time sick! I am waiting for my annual sinus infection. It’s bound to come soon. But I’m glad to hear you’re doing better now! And I’m also glad you got some rest and a break from the kiddies too. Have a great week!

Oh man, you did hit the evil jackpot with the infections. Glad you were able to rest and read, but hope you feel better.
Looking forward to your discussions and your reviews through the year. 🙂

  13. sjhigbee

So sorry you’ve been sick and I hope that you soon recover. And no… I can’t believe that the Princess is four already – where does the time go? I hope that 2019 is a happy peaceful one for you and many thanks for your marvellous work in cotinuing to host this busy meme, Kimberly:))

  14. Lorna

I bet you absolutely hate this time of the year because you get so sick! I hope you get over it quickly. And I can’t believe the princess is 4 already. Time really sneaks up on you doesn’t it?

  15. Tonyalee

WOW that’s a lot of books. I remember when I read close to that a year. Now I’m happy with 50. haha

    Bummer you’ve been sick!

  16. A Voracious Reader

I hate that you’ve been sick. I shall set up a circle and banish it! But first I must research how to do that. lol Hard to believe the Princess will be 4! Kyleigh will be 5 and Kindergarten is drawing closer while Boone will be 3 in March! Yikes! Repeat after me: We are NOT getting old. We are NOT getting old. 😀 I hope you have a great week, Kim!

  17. Jinjer

Skipping 4 and going right to 5! So cute. Sorry you were sick on your days off. I do agree with most of what that article said about why so many people get sick on their days off. Makes total sense.

  18. Melissa (My World...in words and pages)

Hey!! So sorry to hear you’ve been sick. I know we are fighting sinus issues the last week or two. We don’t know if it’s colds or sinus infections we are fighting. Ugh.

Hope you’ve been doing well and enjoyed your holidays!

  19. Lover Of Romance

I love your photo at the bottom…that is hilarious. That makes me think of Gena Showalter…because she kills her characters like super brutally hehe Hope you get to feeling better.

  20. trin carl

Congrats on your Goodreads goal. I’m actually planning on using Goodreads to get more of my book recommendations this year. I’ll be sure to check out your Goodreads site.

  21. Sophie

First of all Kimberly I am so sorry to hear about your sinus and throat infection! I also often get either sick either very tired or both on holiday! This week it was my back who was hurt … Now your little Princess…that’s my girl LOL! I love her way of thinking. But I bet past thirty she’ll declare she only aged six months instead of one (or two) years 😉 Take care and get better!

  22. Emily

Glad you’re starting to feel better – the illness is just starting to take hold at our house. My husband is the first victim and I’m hoping so hard it doesn’t spread to my son and I! Love that satan meme by the way. <3 Supernatural

  23. Jan @ Notes from a Readerholic

Happy Birthday to the Princess! I had to laugh that she’s decided to skip being four. I think I need to just skip my next birthday…lol.

I’m sorry you’ve been so sick, Kimberly. I hope you’re on the mend. And I hope this next week is a good one for you.

Why is it when you slow down that is when the sick creeps in. I was going 100mph and when I stopped to take a break I got sick and took the rest of the family with me. I hope you are feeling better. Your little miss is just too cute but tell her she isn’t allowed to grow up too fast so she must be 4.

Have a great week, Kim! Happy Reading! ox

I’m sorry you were sick during your time off. I’ve had that too. I plan on checking out that post you shared about being sick on your time off. I hope you’re feeling better now. I can’t believe she’s turning four. It seemed like yesterday you were posting picks of a baby. I love the fact that she’s skipping four. I’ll be she’ll be 29 for a few years too. LOL

  26. Rita @ View From the Books

So sorry that you are sick again, and so severely! I’m happy for you, though, that you set such an impressive stat of books read this past year. I usually shoot for 100 and hope I fall somewhere near there.

I love hearing about Princess Sophia growing up. I remember when she was born 🙂 What a treasure grandkids are! My 3 live cross country and I don’t see them very often.

  27. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Sorry to hear you were sick over the holiday! I was still a little under the weather myself and was in bed long before midnight either. But I like to think of it as going to bed at someone else’s New Year! Lol. It was New Year in Guam where my cousin lives, so I did make it to someone’s 2019! Lol.

Nice new read! That’s a new to me one! Hope you enjoy it!

    Have a GREAT day!

That’s awesome you still went over your Goodreads goal even with it being a rough year. I am sorry to hear you spent most of your unplugged time sick and I hope you feel better soon. I might have to check out that Dannika Dark series as it’s narrated by Nichole Poole as I like her narration for the series I am currently listening to. I already listened to my first audiobook for the year that counts for the audio challenge :).

  29. Sam@wlabb

You poor dear! Sorry to hear you are unwell. ((HUGS)) and feel better soon. I combine a lot of my reviews, and it gives me space for posting other stuff. I will throw up 2-3 in my Nutshells, 2 in my One Old, One New, and usually 2 in my Isn’t It Romantic. The only time I post a single review is for blog tours. I also will just post some reviews to GR and link to it on my Sunday Post.

Oh no, so sorry to hear you were sick all during your break. Not fair! I never make it until the ball drops anyway – sick or not. I am *not* a nightowl! Love your random this week! It certainly feels that way. LOL

  31. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookworms

I’m sorry you’ve been sick again, Kim, and really hope you’re feeling better now. I’m sending happy, healthy thoughts for a great 2019 for you!
LOL the Princess wants to skip right to 5, eh? Can I stay my age for a few years? Does it really work like that?
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading!

Happy New Year Kimberly. Sorry to hear about all the infections. That’s horrible! I hope it gets better soon! 😉
That’s a very impressive Goodreads achievement! I’m going for 100 this year!
Have a good week and happy reading!

Hah! My son thinks he’ll be old enough to do everything he wants to do once he gets to his fifth birthday. He’ll be “all grown up,” and can do “adult” things. I love my kids! I’m sorry you spend your blogging vacation sick. I spent mine moving, which was also crummy. I’m just now getting caught up on all the things I missed, and trying to settle into a new routine with the family.

I hope you’re feeling better! *hugs*

I hope you feel better soon! There is a whole lot of that going around here too, though it’s mostly skipped me. It seems like every week someone has some new flu/cold/stomach bug and I’m constantly questioning if it’s rude to spray someone directly with Lysol.

I hope this week treat you well!

  36. Lulu @ Roadside Reader

WOW, I’m always in such awe when people can read more than 52 books, let alone over 200 in a year! You’re amazing! Also, being sick sucks but it sucks even more when it’s during scheduled time off. Hope you feel better soon! <33

  37. Literary Feline

Way to go on your Goodreads goal, Kim! I am sorry to hear you are sick again. I thought maybe we were all getting sick, but it seems to be just bad allergies. I cannot blame the princess for wanting to skip four, although four is a great age . . . Five was hard. LOL I hope you have a great January and 2019.

  38. Laurel-Rain Snow

I hope you feel better soon, and I had to laugh at that plan of little Princess to skip right over four. So cute.

Have a great week…and Happy New Year.

  39. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

Happy birthday to the Princess! How is she 4??? All these littles need to slow down. The Tornado turned 9 last week and I’m still in shock as to how that’s possible. I’m sorry to hear you spent so much time sick. How awful to have a sinus infection it’s an ear infection thrown in. Hope you’re feeling better and have a great week!

  40. Laura Thomas

Sorry you were sick. I was too. The last three years I was sick for the holiday break. I’m quarantining myself the week before next year. LOL Funny how we want to grow up fast when we are young and want time to slow down when we are older:) Love the Random pic. I believe the second part of it. LOL

  41. Greg

That’s cute about the Princess skipping four. 🙂 And sorry to hear you’ve been sick! There seems to be so much going around. I’ve had a cold too although luckily it hasn’t been too bad…

Hope you have a great start to New Year!

I’m thinking of trying Dannika Dark’s series.
