Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.  See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

My Mom had her surgery Sunday afternoon and now rehab begins. She sounds really good. I am hoping to visit in January when she will need help at home. Right now, it is impossible for me to leave. Things are still a tad crazy with family things, so excuse my absence. If you could send prayers and positive vibes to our family I would be grateful. Despite all the goings on, I did managed to complete the November Finish A Series Challenge. I listened to the Lady Sherlock series and it brought me a reprieve from worries. I read/listened to 15 books in November. My lowest monthly total for the year. I am sitting at 241/250 for the year and should make my Goodreads goal, but there will be no exceeding it this year. Stay warm, be happy, and stay Caffeinated.

Will definitely be sending prayer and good wishes your way and hopefully you will receive them. When it comes to the end of the year things can get quite crazy!! I am glad it sounds like your mother is doing well though.

Some weeks we just don’t get new books and that can be a good thing because it means our TBR is shrinking 😉

Glad that your mom is getting her surgery. I love Hallmark movies and yes, I will still watch them as well, I always know when they will end because they kiss.

  3. Daniela Ark

Sorry to hear about your mom having to have surgery but happy to hear she sounds good. I’ll bet she’ll be super happy to have you with her in January! Sending you tonsa positive vibes!

I’m sorry to hear that things are crazy at home right now. Sending along some positive vibes for you and your loved ones. I don’t think I’m going to make my Audiobook Challenge goal. I got sidetracked by a few slow-listens this year and a few podcasts that I really got into.

I am so close to my GR goal, I just don’t know if I’m going to make it. I’m having such trouble reading my ebooks. Hubby and that damn tv keep distracting me. He asks me questions about what is going on on the television show and then I end up watching instead of reading. Very frustrating! I need to pick up the pace!

I’ll be sending prayers and thoughts to you and your family. I hate to see anyone going through tough times this time of year!

  6. RO

Absolutely, the whole family has been lifted up in prayer, and glad that your mom is sounding better to you. I know she’ll be thrilled to see you in January. That Hallmark meme fits me perfectly!(lol) Have a great Monday and Hugs…RO

I’m praying for your mom and family. Holiday has its own stress with out added health issues.
Fifteen is still good reading although it is a low number for you!
Surprising you didn’t get any new books.
    Happy reading!

Hopefully December won’t be too chaotic for you and it’s good your mother is doing better. Last week and this we are battling a cold bug in the house. It’s working it’s way through everyone. I end up reading less in November and December. It has to do with all the holiday stuff that goes on and all the people to come and visit, in and out of the house. Have a great week and happy reading!

I’m glad your mother is doing good after her surgery. And I am sorry things are chaotic(?) in your life right now. Sending positive thoughts your way. I pretty much quit watching the Christmas movies because they are all the same or close enough. I made my GoodReads goal awhile back and I made it last year as well. Now it says I didn’t for last year out of the blue. Strange. I’m still away on vacation so I am pretty hit or miss commenting but hopefully I will be better in the New Year!

  10. Kristin @ AddictedtoHEA

Ya know, I’ve never watched a Hallmark Christmas movie but now that you’ve summed them all up for me, I will never need to. I’ll take the misunderstood CEO, thank you 😉

    Prayers and hugs, Larry!!

Hope things settle down for you. I’m in a similar state of being overwhelmed with things these days.

  12. Melanie Simmons

Sending healing thoughts to you and your family. I haven’t read or listened as much as normal. I’ve lowered my Goodreads goal twice and I’m still not going to hit it. Oh well. I’ve still read and listened to some really great books this year. I hope your week this week is less crazy.

I hope your mom has a speedy recovery! You still got a bunch of books read even tough it’s your lowest month so far, which doesn’t surprise me with all the family stuff you have going on. Have a great week!

  14. Jovita @ Inky Impressions

Kimberly happy to hear that your mothers surgery went well, sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

I’ll have to check out the stress free blogging link, lol. Have a lovely day.

Sending Hugs and good wishes to you and your family!

I always try to set my Goodreads and challenge goals realistically. I think about how many books can I read a week? I think 2 books plus 1-2 audiobooks but there are weeks I am out of town or don’t manage much. So I tend to stick around 150. This year I have blown it away but it’s been an odd year. Glad the surgery went well. Definitely will keep you all in our prayers. Tough time of the year for some. Yay for Lady Sherlock being a good distraction. I’m two chapters in on the third book now.

    Have a good week!

  17. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

That’s good news about your Mom. I hope her rehab goes well, and I’ll certainly say a prayer for her and for you and your family. Have a wonderful week and may things smooth out a bit for your family! And I hope the Prince’s leg is healing well and that he can soon get out of that cast (or is he out already? I’ve lost track of the weeks…)

  18. Mary @StackingMyBookShelves!

Glad to hear your mom is ok. My brother just had a surgery last Monday. He is doing ok but still not great. He is home now and I keep asking if he needs help but he says no. I hope things calm down at home. Hope all gets better this week. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  19. Darlene

It must be relief that your mom’s surgery is done! Sending positive vibes for a speedy recovery for her and also your grandson. Good job on finishing a series in November! I thought about it, but I knew that I couldn’t devote an entire month to just one series. I have too many others on my TBR that I’m trying to get to for some of my reading

  20. trin carl

Sorry to hear about your Mom. Love that you can find the upside of things. After challenges , there will be relief.

  21. sjhigbee

Sorry to hear about your mother – your family is really going through it with the Prince also all plastered up… Wishing you all positive healing energy and vibes, Kimberlyx

  22. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Glad everything went okay with your mom’s surgery. Will keep you all in my thoughts. I hope the recovery will be smooth too!

At least your TBR pile got a break this week! This is like the second week in a row when I only got 1 book! It’s a nice number I suppose! Lol!

Hope you have a great reading week!

December always feels kind of crazy if you ask me. There’s just a lot happening this time of year. I hope it slows down for you a bit. 😉

Sorry to hear about your mom, Kimberly. I’m sending prayers and virtual hugs your way! It’s really touch when a family member is sick especially when you have a lot on your plate already. Hope your week brings some positive thew.

  26. Michelle Gilmore

November was my lowest reading month too, though I bombed it compared to you. I only got in 8 books, which is the first time I’ve dropped below the double digits in a long time. I’m glad your mom is doing fine! I hope things calm down around your home and that everything is okay!

  27. hillary

I am impressed with how many books you have read/listened to! I am feeling lots better so I am hoping I get a decent amount of reading done this month and next year. I am glad your mom is doing OK. Sending good thoughts your way!

  28. Ardis @ Pondering The Prose

Kimberly, I will definitely say prayers for your family. You do so much for your family, I’m glad that books offer a diversion from all the happenings. I know a good read will help take me away from my troubles, if only for a short time. Have a wonderful week.

  29. Greg

Best of luck to your mom on her recovery, Kimba, and sending lots of prayers and good vibes your way! Take care this week!!!!
