Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.  See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Here we are at the last Sunday of the month again, and for many in the States, it was a super long weekend of endless food and family. Mr. Caffeinated and I went to see The Crimes of Grindelwald, Fantastic Beasts 2 and while I enjoyed it, I struggled with some plot holes and spell-breakers. While the movies have always tweaked things to fit their needs, I am curious how they will close these threads.

In other news, my Mother fell and broke her hip but they haven’t got all of her Doctor’s including her heart to clear her for surgery. I will be planning a trip to Florida soon.

I almost missed a book release for a favorite series. I need some kind of an alarm system, although usually I mark my calendar. I hope you hopped the Black Friday Book Bonanza. You’ve got until tomorrow evening to enter.  We are snuggled in and watching the snow. Stay Caffeinated.

I am glad you were able to enjoy the movie and that you were able to enjoy the endless food 😀 I am so sorry to hear about your mother breaking her hip and also the health issues she is facing with getting cleared for surgery… hope that all works out.

I’ve been hearing good things about The Invisible Library #5 so I hope you like the sequel ^.^

So sorry to hear about your mom Kimberly. Hopefully she is doing better now. I am signing up for COYER, hopefully this afternoon.

Aw! Thank you for adding my challenge 😄
I watched the Crimes of Grindelwald on Thanksgiving. The ending was a big surprise. I think mostly I wish I had more time with Credence, Tina, and Nagini.
Oh no! I hope the surgery goes well. My hip has been giving me a lot of pain. Hopefully insoles will fix the problem.

I’m sorry your mom is hurt! I recently went through something similar with my grandmother. She had a stroke and has been doing speech therapy to regain her speech. She’s also more forgetful now than she was, and the doctors think something in her brain was affected heavily by the stroke. Safe travels to Florida! Take your mom something to read!

I feel like I’m always missing the release dates for my favorite books!

I’m sorry to hear about your mother. How stressful for you all. I hope she feels better soon. I want to watch the first Fantastic Beasts movie. I have it recorded but haven’t actually sat down and watched it. I hope you have a wonderful week!

I’m so sorry to hear about your mom! I hope her recovery is quick and painless. I hear lots of people saying the same thing as you about the Fantastic Beasts movie. Lots of plot holes. I think I’m going to wait till it comes out on DVD to watch it.

Sorry to hear about your mother’s injury. It’s nice to visit Florida when it is cold up north but an injury/surgery isn’t welcome.
I want to see the Fantastic Beast movies – someday.
I can’t believe we are heading into the last month of the year. It sure has been a doozy!
    Happy Reading!

  9. Laura @ Library of Clean Reads

Oh, I feel so bad for your mom! I slipped and fell on the ice this past week and felt pretty banged up, but thank goodness nothing broken. I feel so bad for older ones who fall and get hurt.

I always seem to miss new releases of authors I follow. Just too much going on…

Oh no, I’m sorry about your mom. I hope she can get cleared for surgery soon and all goes well. I really liked the new Fantastic Beasts, but I definitely am curious to see how they bring things together as the movies go on.

First time visitor 🙂 I love hearing about good books and movies – and especially book and movie tie-ins! I’ll have to add some of these to my TBR pile…

We are watching the snow too. Expecting 6 inches or more. Sorry about your mom, and I hope they get things straightened out so she can get on the road to recovery. L

Oh no your mother. I hope everything goes ok for her. I’ve been through the same thing with my grandmother when she was alive. Not easy! Glad you had a good weekend and Thanksgiving. Happy Reading!!

Ack! I messed up on my name and link; sorry, got distracted by the anime my kids are watching.
I’m sorry to read about your mom. I hope she is being kept comfortable in the hospital and that her doctors can help her. I hope you are holding up well as you must be worried and have so much to do. Hugs to you.

I’m sorry to hear about your mom. I hope they get all their ducks in a row pdq so she can get her surgery. Safe travels to Florida. I’m in Ohio now (heading home tomorrow) with another trip planned for Christmas so my mom’s surrounded with family for these first major holidays without dad.

Oh no, I hope your mother will be okay! Wish her the best!
I still have to watch the Fantastic Beasts sequel, not sure when I will find the time to do so.
I’m terrible with keeping track of book releases lately, should work on that 🙂

  17. Anne

There’s always so much happening it’s easy to miss things especially when you’ve got broken bones with your Mom and the Prince. I hope you were able to enjoy your holiday, your family and relax some, and of course, read. Anne – Books of My Heart

  18. Jolene Wilson

Sorry to hear about your mom. Florida sounds wonderful about now. Very cold and windy here in Iowa. Hope you enjoy all your books. All your books this week are new to me.

  19. Sophia Rose

It was a great time with family and then a busy weekend with a Piston’s basketball game and shopping. We want to see Crimes of Grindelwald. Maybe next weekend.
Ah, your poor mother. So complicated. I’m sure she will appreciate having you there with her.

    Have a good week, Kimberly!

  20. Natalie @Natflix&Books

I’m sorry to hear about your mom. How stressful. I know I’ll end up watching Crimes but not in the theater. I didn’t really like the first movie, but I’m definitely curious to see Jude Law as Dumbledore. Happy reading!

I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. Hope they get her approved for surgery soon so that she can be on the mend.

I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews for Fantastic Beasts 2, so I may wait for it to come out on DVD.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a great week!

  23. Darlene

I wish that I could be lazy today but we are volunteering this morning and then my younger daughter has gymnastics. Then housecleaning when I get home. Hopefully, I get a bit of down time. I’d like to watch the Grey Cup even though our team isn’t in it.

I hope your mom is okay and that she will recover quickly. I still have the first book in Adrian’s Midnight Breed Hunter Legacy series to listen to. Have a good week!

Oh No! Your poor mom! I hope they can fix her up soon.
I have heard such crazy reviews for Fantastic Beasts 2. I haven’t seen the first one yet *hides* I guess without it being actually written it’s harder to keep the world straight…maybe. I plan to watch them the first one soon. I am craving a serious HP Binge.

Even with our crazy snow two weeks ago, I am still jealous of your snow! 😉

Have a great week, Kim! Happy Reading! ox

Oh, no, your poor mom! I hope they are able to clear her soon, and get her on the mend. I would be crying if it were snowing here. Thank goodness the temperature rose, because it rained like a beast overnight. If that had been snow, it would have been quite deep.

  26. Bookworm

I’m sorry about your mom, hopefully she can get her surgery soon.
I like the days forecast lazy with a chance of Netflix 😊happy reading and enjoy your week!

  27. Lola

I haven’t seen Crimes of Grindelwald yet, I heard some others enjoyed it less than the first movie. I am sorry to hear it has some plot holes and spell breakers, will keep that in mind when I’ll go and see it.

I am sorry to hear about your mom. I hope her surgery will take place soon and that she recovers smoothly.

I’ll have to check out your Black Friday Book Bonanza post next. Have a great week!

    Happy Thanksgiving!
Sorry to hear about your mum, fingers crossed she gets the sign off she needs for surgery and makes a speedy recovery,

I really enjoyed The Crimes of Grindelwald. I LOVED it compared to Fantastic Beasts 1. Your right about the plot holes but I’m hoping that as the story unfolds in future films these are closed.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I hope she will be okay, I know it’s not easy, especially when you’re older. I hope she has someone to take care of her in Florida.
I’d also like to watch Fantastic Beasts 2, since I heard Ezra Miller is back in the movie, I really want to watch it in the theatre.
The only problem is time, but I hope I’ll manage something, at least I know that movie will probably be in theaters for a long, long time.

  30. Rachel @Waves of Fiction

I’m sorry to hear about your mom, Kimberly! I hope they clear her for surgery soon so she won’t be in much pain.
