It was another week of rain and strange temperatures. Today we are taking the Royals to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch. Mr. Caffeinated’s work hosts this event and the site is not yet open to the public. Train rides, pony rides, pumpkins and more await us. The sign up for #FraterfestRAT is up. I am in need of a few challenge hosts if you’d like to get in on the fun. We started watching Jack Ryan on Prime and tuned in to the first NFL game. Our Eagles won but it was messy. Hope you have a wonderful week! Stay Caffeinated!

Hope you enjoyed your trip to the pumpkin patch!!
Kimberly
We did. Thanks Nicole.
Anna @ Read and Repeat
Oo a pumpkin patch! It’s still summer-ish here so we have a while before pumpkins and fall colors 🙂
Kimberly
I was surprised by the amount of pumpkins ready to harvest.
Lover Of Romance
I just adore fall time and I can’t believe its time for pumpkin patches and football season. Glad your team won. I am more of a college football fan, I follow more players in the NFL over one team since I don’t live in a place near a PRO team.
Kimberly
Ah, we never got into college football, but are huge college basketball fans.
Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library
Oh we need to head to the pumpkin patch this year! The past few years we’ve always gone with the Tornado’s school but it looks like he’s too old for that now field trip-wise. Jack Ryan looks really good and how can I not watch something that has Jim in it?? Have a great week!
Kimberly
It will be fun to go as a family.
Tori @ InToriLex
I’ve also been enjoying Jack Ryan on Prime. Despite bad critic reviews I’ll always be a fan of Jim I mean John lol
Tori @ In Tori Lex
Kimberly
We’ve only watched 2 episodes, but I am enjoying it thus far.
sherry fundin
We had a great place we visited outside of Rochester New York, when we lived up there. Haven’t found anything like it down here, but haven’t really looked. Maybe we will, now that you have jogged my memory.
Kimberly
I hope you do, it was quite fun.
K. Elizabeth
We’re preparing for Hurricane Florence to hit in my area. So far today we’ve just gotten some rain and a little wind. Keeping my fingers crossed that we don’t end up without power or any tree damage. I did stock up on lots of books from the library for me and the kids. So, we’ll have some entertainment if we do lose power.
Kimberly
I always stocked up on books too! I hope all goes well for you and yours
Tanya @ Rantings of a Reading Addict
I’ve been taking a look at Fraterfest. Not sure if my normal reading would qualify since it’s nothing but paranormal anyway. Well except for Consumed. I’m contemplating taking part. Should be fun!
Kimberly
Yes, paranormal qualifies as does fantasy if it has magic. *winks*
Sumedha
Oh you’re all getting ready for Halloween! We don’t have Halloween here so I’m just going to continue reading books and watching Kdramas as usual ?
Kimberly
Well Fall, but yes Halloween too 🙂
Stefanie
The pumpkin patch outing sounds fun. I remember those days. There is a farm called Lemos Farm in Half Moon Bay that is Halloween all year around. There are pony rides and a train ride, + a little playstructure area. Many preschools go there in the fall. I need to remember to pick up pumpkins for my dames to carve.
Kimberly
Yes this had all of that plus hay rides and corn mazes.
MarthaE
Pumpkin patch already? Sounds like a fun day.
Foundryside sounds good. I will look at it more at Audible.
I hope to do the FraterFest with some of my TBR titles – finally. I am sure I have some ghostly and horror titles.
Now I am off to check out your thoughts on Owlmen.
Happy Reading!
Kimberly
LOL, early admittance Martha.
Berls
How fun! We’re taking the kids to a pumpkin patch for our field trip this year and I’m so excited because I’ve never gone (not even as a kid). Hope y’all had a great time 🙂
Kimberly
I hope you love it!
Northwoman
ooo I bought squash to bake. And I did make sweet potatoes with our chicken the other night. The only pumpkin I make is pumpkin muffins. But it’s stayed near or into the 90s here yet. Enjoy that cooler weather.
Robin loved Foundryside and I ordered up the audio from the library. Anne – Books of My Heart
Kimberly
I love all squash and sweet potatoes too. I am excited about the audio.
Aj @ Read All The Things!
Haha, I love your random. Enjoy the pumpkin patch! I always liked going to those when I was a kid. Have a great week!
Kimberly
That made me smile too 🙂
ShootingStarsMag
How fun you get to go to this pumpkin patch before it opens to the public. I hope the kiddoes have a great time – and you too!! I don’t mind the cooler weather, but I’d like the rain to go away. I’m just thankful I don’t have the really bad Hurricanes.
-Lauren
Kimberly
Very true Lauren.
Juli
“Sadie” looks interesting. Omg. are y’all already setting up Halloween events. *gasp* It feels like it’s never going to cool down, here, that’s for sure.
Kimberly
LOL, yes. We have to announce ahead so folks can prepare.
Jackie Briere
That book, Foundryside, looks interesting. I hope you all had fun with your grandkids. That’s sweet
Kimberly
We had a wonderful time Jackie, Thank you.
Mary Reiss
We haven’t been to a pumpkin patch in years. I hope you enjoyed it. I want to go apple picking soon. Have a great week. I have lots to do and reviews to read.
Mary
Kimberly
I am behind on writing my reviews too Mary and foolishly thought I would do them tonight..but this Nonna is pooped. I will be vegging instead.
Jan @ Notes from a Readerholic
I hope the pumpkin patch was fun , Kimberly. I love fall and am looking forward to cooler weather to enjoy it.
I hope you have a great week!
Kimberly
It was a lot of fun and the Princess couldn’t stop thanking us.
Mary Kirkland
Have a great time with the kids.
Kimberly
Thank you, Mary. We had a blast, but this Nonna needs a nap.
S. J. Pajonas
Have a great time at the pumpkin patch! We usually do the pumpkin patch and apple picking sometime in October. It’s a lot of fun for the whole family. 🙂
Kimberly
Yes we used to go in October too..but free is free LOL
Erin @ Cracker Crumb Life
So excited for fall! Yay, a pumpkin patch!!! I can’t wait to visit one.
I really want to read The Impossible Girl!
Kimberly
I enjoyed that one. Hope you get to a pumpkin patch this fall
Angela
Oh what fun, pumpkin patch. That will be a blast with the Royals.
Have a great week and happy reading!
Kimberly
We had a really nice time, but my tired is tired!
Angela
I feel you. Kids and Grandkids can sure ware you out. I wonder where my son gets all his energy from. By mid-day I’m exhausted. ^_^. Glad to hear it was fun!!
Lola
We had some rain here too, but also some sunny parts, which were nice. I hope you have with the royals at the pumpkin patch. It sure is starting to feel like autumn. I hope you have a great week!
Kimberly
14 days of rain Lola. Thankfully we dried out this weekend.
Michelle @Because Reading
Have fun at the pumpkin patch! That sounds like so much fun.
We are planning to go in October since most of that stuff isn’t available until the end of September.
Have a great week, Kim! Happy Reading! 🙂
Kimberly
Yes, it doesn’t open officially until the end of the month.
Lorna
I used to love going to the pumpkin patch, but it’s been awhile. I do love Fall. I know you all will have a great time. Hope you have a good week as well.
Kimberly
It is such fun, but oh so tiring. I am hope in my PJs now.
Jolene Wilson
I have just started seeing Pumpkins for sale around here. And our weather is finally in the 70s so it is starting to feel like fall. I am excited for your two reading challenges!
Kimberly
Yay I am glad you are joining them.
Kristin (Book Sniffers Anonymous)
That’s so cool that you guys get to go to the pumpkin patch before it officially opens. I love going to apple orchards and pumpkin patches but I hate the insane crowds. I hope you guys are having a blast!
Kimberly
Yes, it is nice, plus it is all employees so everyone is super nice.
Sophia Rose
Oh fun! Enjoy your early entry at the pumpkin patch. 🙂
I’m eager for Fraterfest.
Have a great week!
Kimberly
Me too Sophia!
vvb
Oh what fun fall activities! Enjoy.
Kimberly
We had a blast, but I am pooped now and in my pajamas!
Samantha
We started the week at 95 degrees then Friday the rain started…and it still hasn’t stopped. Everything is flooded. But, its only 70 today so yay!
You are selling your kindle oasis?!? I love mine! I hope you are able to find a buyer!
Kimberly
I had the original Oasis Kindle and loved it. When the new one came out I upgraded and sold mine to a fellow blogger. But the new one is bigger and heavier. It’s harder for me to hold. It was depressing. I even watched for used ones of the original. Amazon just started selling them again so I bought it. I love that the new one is waterproof and larger memory.
LORI CASWELL
After the tornadoes and bad storms last week, we had a nice quiet week this week 🙂 I am looking forward to the Packer Game tonight!
Kimberly
I hope your game is good. Hopefully the nasty weather is behind you.
Melissa (My World...in words and pages)
Oh. Our weather took a drastic turn over night. Friday was backing and Saturday was chilly with rain. It’s like we went from dead of summer to dead of fall over night. Brrrr.
I do look forward to the pumpkin patch visit though. 🙂 Have a great week!!
Kimberly
Our August was unseasonably mild and with the exception of this weekend we had rain for 14 days straight!
Ardis @ Pondering The Prose
I’m so jealous you get to go to a pumpkin patch already! I love Autumn! Have a wonderful time.
Kimberly
We had fun Ardis. I need a nap now. I came home, showered and put on my pajamas.
Ceri
Oooh, I always wondered what it would be like to go to one of those pumpkin patch places. I don’t think we have them on this side of the pond.
Kimberly
We had a blast. I had to come home and take a second shower though.
Kristin @ AddictedtoHEA
Have fun today! Hope they have apples you can pick, too!!
Kimberly
I don’t think so, but they have corn mazes, a train and ponies.
Nick
Pumpkin patch! Already! I hope you guys have fun. Did you enjoy Jack Ryan?
I hope you have a good week ahead, Kim!
Kimberly
We get to go pre-opening day with my husband’s work. I don’t think they open until later in September.
Sophie
Congrats for the Eagles! And I so want to read Grace Draven’s book but the giveaway is US only! Damn. I guess I’ll have to buy it LOL. Happy Sunday!
Kimberly
Yes, they are limited by release rights. It does look good though.
A Voracious Reader
Is it Pumpkin Patch time already?! Yikes. This year is flying by, but that’s ok. I’m ready for it to be over. I hope the rain stays away so you can have fun!
Kimberly
Right. As I said we get to go pre-opening day for my husband’s company. It is a lot of fun, but a family of 4 going there without food coupons and free tickets would need to get a second mortgage. It is so overpriced.
Darlene
It sounds like the Royals will have a wonderful time at the Pumpkin Patch! Have fun, and I’m excited to see that Fraterfest is back!! Thank you! Have a great week.
Kimberly
We had a blast. Yes, I am excited to bring back the Fraterfest Readathon.
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Our temperatures are going down slowly, but surely. I wish it was cooler quicker though! Upper 80s is still too warm for my taste, but at least we’re still under 90! Lol! The pumpkin patch visit sounds like fun! I always used to love going there!
Nice new read too! It’s totally new to me but I hope you will enjoy it!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Kimberly
We had fun. I had to come home and take a second shower. It was warm and sunny with lots of walking.
Angela Adams
The Pumpkin Patch — a sure sign of Autumn! Enjoy!!!
Kimberly
Indeed. Thanks Angela!
Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra
Oooh, have fun at the pumpkin patch! That’s cool that you get to access it before it’s open to the public for the season. And yay that you were able to get Foundryside on audio. I look forward to seeing what you think of it. Hope you have a great week!
Kimberly
Thanks I am looking forward to diving into all twenty hours of it!
Natalie @Natflix&Books
I definitely plan on watching Jack Ryan but haven’t gotten to it yet. It was so flipping hot here all week, but rainy all weekend. Happy reading!
Kimberly
We’ve got sunshine today thankfully!
Stormi Johnson
The Pumpkin Patch sounds fun!! Have a great week and happy reading!
Stormi
Kimberly
Thanks Stormi..you do the same!
Stephanie Jane (Literary Flits)
There’s pumpkins nestling in the ‘potager’ kitchen gardens here in France. Some are getting big! We picked blackberries for a crumble this week so that got me feeling autumnal 🙂
Kimberly
Yum! I love blackberry crumble!
trin carl
Yay pumpkins! Reminds me of Halloween and haunted Houses. I always look forward to this haunted house in Chisago City every year. The actors have you climb down a black hole-Can you imagine?!
Kimberly
I love a good haunting house but Eep…that sounds scary!
Yvonne
The pumpkin patch sounds like fun. I’m sure you will all have a great time. Your weather sounds like ours. We started watching Jack Ryan and liked it, but then we switched to the second season of Ozark. Eventually we will get back to Jack Ryan. Hope you have a great week!
Kimberly
We were eying that series, but also have 2 series started on Netflix, so we are holding off.
Sim @ Flipping Through the Pages
Pumpkin patches sound like fun. It’s the season of Halloween. I am so jealous of you guys everywhere because we don’t have anything like Halloween or Pumpkin picking here 😛
Last month it was raining a lot here too, but it’s a little warmer this month. But I am glad that weather is under control. 🙂
Have a lovely week.
Kimberly
We have sunshine today and I am grateful. Yes, you can smell autumn hoovering in the air here. We’ve been lucky to live near farms most of our lives.
Tânia @MyLovelySecret
In Portugal it has also been a week of strange temperatures – last Tuesday the temperatures were high during the day and at night there was a thunderstorm.
Wishes of a great week. 🙂
Tânia @MyLovelySecret
Kimberly
The weather keeps us guessing! Have a great week.
RO
I’ve started seeing pumpkin patch displays all over the place, and love that the kids will be able to have fun. I’m a Dallas fan, but I still had to tune in to the Eagles 1st game, and at the half, I was thinking uh oh. But they sure turned it around for the win! I fell in love with Jack Ryan and binged on it last week. Great series, and already looking forward to Season 2. Happy Sunday and Hugs…RO
Kimberly
My hubby is not one to binge. We’ve watched the first two episodes. Enjoy your day Ro and hugs right back!
Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books
I’ve never been to a pick your own pumpkin patch but got really excited when I found out there’s a pick your own opening up near me this autumn so we’ll be giving it a try.
I love autumn!
I bet the Royals had so much fun. 🙂 Have a great week!
Kimberly
Have fun when it opens Nicci. We’ve been luck and have always lived close to one.
Ailyn Koay

Kimberly
Thanks Sam. Yes hay and pony rides, kids games and a petting zoo
Evelina @ AvalinahsBooks
Sounds like it’s going to be a fun weekend then 🙂
Kimberly
I hope so. Thanks Evelina.

I hope you have fun with the Royals! It sounds like your weekend will be a great one.
Kimberly
Thanks Michelle. It is our first time taking them alone without their parents.
Jovita @ Inky Impressions
Enjoy your family trip to the Pumpkin Patch. I just love this time of year, I’m sure I gain extra pounds eating all the yummy pumpkin flavor goodies. Enjoy your week ahead.
Kimberly
I do like pumpkin pie and bread 🙂

Pumpkin patch season sounds fantastic! I hope you guys have a blast! I just finished Foundryside last week and absolutely loved it, really want to see what you think of it! Fraterfest sounds like a blast and I can’t wait to see any challenges and will definitely have to start picking up a bunch of spooky books, comics, games, and movies!
Kimberly
