It’s time to sign up for the Sixth Annual HoHoHo Readathon hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. Gather up your favorite cocoa, comfort foods, holiday music and books and join in the fun! For this event books and audiobooks with holiday or winter themes count. You can participate for a day or cozy up by the fire and hang out every day. The more you participate the more entries you will earn for the Participant Giveaway.
The event will be longer this year after feedback from last years Twitter Party. It all begins on Friday November 9th and ends at 11:59pm on Sunday November 18th. We will have a Twitter party on the 18th at 3:30 pm (EST)
Elves Needed! Once again I am looking for Challenge Hosts to post fun challenges. These should be holiday themed and offer a small INT prize. These challenges would need to be posted on November 9th and remain open for the duration of the readathon. Ideas: puzzles, title poems, short stories, cover games, crosswords, instagram, fill in the blank, movie madness etc.
- Link-up (it is not necessary to link to goal post, just link to the account/blog you will be using)
- Before or on November 9th post a goals post to your blog. If you do not have a blog, declare your intentions on social media, then create a shelf on Goodreads with intended books and link to this page. Be sure and link back to Caffeinated Reviewer. If you do not have a blog or Goodreads account and wish to participate you could use Instagram or Facebook. Contact me if unsure.
- It might be a good idea to friend, like or follow me on whatever social media site you use so we can see your progress. Just mention #HoHoHoRAT, so I can follow you back.
- Grab the image and share! Tell your friends, post the image and link on social media using Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, Google + or Instagram Be sure to include a link to this page, so others may join.
- Participate in at least one challenge to be eligible for grand prize
- Read/listen to as many Holiday or Winter themed books as you can. (Winter can be new years setting, snowstorm etc. If you are unsure contact me. Goodreads is a good source for finding Winter settings)
- Tweet your progress using #HoHoHoRAT
- Twitter Party! Sunday, November 18, 2018, at 3:30 pm (EST) #HoHoHoRAT Come chat about the books you have read. There will be prizes.

HapPy to Party with you, Kimberly – thanks for hosting the FuN !
This looks like so much fun! I’m in!
Delighted you are joining us.
This is so cool!! I am happy that I saw this on another site!
And this is why I encourage folks to share. Glad you found it. Happy reading!
I may need a bigger coffee mug. Also, shared to Pinterest and Twitter.
Hi Kim – I still haven’t decided to participate yet since I have a lot I have to deal with this month and I still have NG and TBRs to finish for the year.
Question though: I thought I recalled last year that the book had to be at least 100 pages. I didn’t see that this year. Does that still apply? Thanks.
Hi Maratha, I removed that restriction.
I can’t believe I’m just seeing this now! This read-a-thon is always so much fun. Are you still looking for challenge hosts or are the spots filled?
My motto is always the more the merrier. I have bingo, cover, ball, jigsaw puzzles and instagram. If you want to do something and can send me title and link by Weds morning we’d love to have you host a challenge. Thanks Marie!
This looks like its going to be so much fun, I can’t wait to participate!
Yay. So glad you are joining in the fun!!
I accidentally mistyped my name (Jennt rather than Jenny) so I’m on there twice! Sorry!
No worries. I removed it for you
*dances* I am so excited you are joining in the fun Shari!
I just signed up for my first year of doing this! Hoping I can do it!
I always say I’m going to join and this year I’m doing it! I already have some holiday reads downloaded and waiting!
Wahoo! I am so excited 🙂
So excited for this! I just signed up! Will there be multiple “specific” challenges or is there just the general one to read winter/holiday books?
There will be 4 or 5 challenges by elves, pop up challenges and a participation challenge.
Hi Kim, I know I’m a bit late but I just signed up. I knew I wanted to prticipate in this ReadAThon since I heard about it, and it will be my second time participating.
Is it too late to also sign up to be your elf?
Hello Irena, So glad you signed up and yes, you can still be an Elf! I will email you.
Sassy Brit @ Alternative-Read.com
I’ve never participated before, but would love to join in. I will take a look around and see what’s needed. Thank you!
Before I completely forget to join the linky, I signed on today! I look forward to posting my participation post in November!! I have some stories I know I can read for this thon in mind, as Wintry stories are truly my jam! I strive to read more and more each year, and since the past few years have been on the leaner side, this is going to ROCK! What a great idea – as it helps bring the season closer to the heart! I was thinking of reading a combination of Historical Romance, Contemporary Romance & INSPY Suspense!
Nice choices. I like to mix it up myself and have even listened to winter horror 🙂
OK so this is my first one and I linked up my Goodreads shelf. I understand a Readathon is reading books which meet certain criteria. I tried to schedule my reviews for that time period also but that is well challenging since I’m not sure how long it will take me to read them. So do the reviews have to be posted the same time period as the challenge or are reviews not really part of the challenge time period? Yes, I always have to nail down the details to do something. Anne – Books of My Heart
Hi Anne, For the thon, you only need to show it read during the dates of the thon. You can post your reviews whenever on your blog or not at all.
I wish I could join. I just know I won’t have the time I want to dedicate to it. BOOOOO…
I’m in! I love doing this RAT each year and its great motivation for getting a stack of holiday/winter-themed review books done. 🙂
Now, I’m off to shout out the world (okay my social media followers, maybe).
Yay, I can’t wait. I had fun last year with this one. Thanks for hosting it again!
Yay glad you are joining us again 🙂
This will be my first year participating, and I am pumped! I haven’t done a sign up post yet, so I just linked to my blog for now. Do I need to come back when I have a sign up post? Would you like for me to come back and leave the link in the comments? After I post my goal post, I’ll make sure the image links to you, but is it okay to use this image in the sidebar that links to my specific goal post? Like I did with my Beat the Backlist Challenge? If you click on Dewey Dragons, it takes you to my post with my goals, but the post itself links back to Novel Knight.
I’ll have to dig up all of my unread winter reads, so if anyone has any suggestions… let me know! Thanks for this, Kimberly! It sounds like a lot of fun.
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear?
I would love to help by being a Challenge Host! I already have a fun idea for a puzzle… <3
Let me know what you need, or if there is a separate sign up for those.
We’d love to have you host challenge. I am away. Can you email me so I don’t forget?
Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra
I still need to do my sign up post, but definitely count me in again this year!
Yay. We are going to have a blast.
you ar eso rigth! Nothing like Christmas to read !! good luck to everyone!
Agreed, but I love finding winter reads too..like ones in the horror genre. NOS4a2 was one I
I’ve participated the last 2 years and really enjoyed it! Looking forward to another fun year of early Christmas/Winter reading!
I am so glad we’ve become a part of your holiday/winter reading!
Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books
Yeay! I’m so excited. 🙂
Me too. I am working on reading holiday books to share everyday during the thon to inspire everyone.
Tyler H. Jolley
This is, by far, my favorite read-a-thon to follow. I love that you host it. You do such a great job.
Ooh I might have to sign up for this one. I’m pretty sure I did it last year, or maybe the year before that. I love reading cozy mysteries!! 🙂
Sweet, and yes you’ve participated before. I have a few winter cozies in mind myself.
Just signed up to the readathon and I am super excited to take part! It’s my first readathon and I am really hyped to read ‘Skipping Christmas’ as part of it!
Yay! Rachel this is such a fun event, and we are excited to be your first!
☃️⛄ I got a copy of The Illustrated History of the Snowman. Did it even mention Olaf? or the movie Frozen? Anyway, let me get this straight. I can start reading Christmas themed books now in fulfillment of this readathon? I guess I always thought you only had the window of time according to when it starts and ends. Silly me.
Hi Jackie, No books for the readathon must be read during the thon. I got the Illustrated Snowman to post for review on the blog during the event to inspire ideas for everyone’s reading and to make it festive. Nope, it did not mention Olaf.
Awesome Kimberly. I’m super excited and signed up! And I would definitely like to be a challenge host again?! I just love this Readathon!!
Yay! If you are up to it Momma, we would love to have you host a challenge!
Carole @ Carole's Random Life in Books
I will have to check my current backlog of review books and see how many will work into the challenge. I should be able to work at least a few during the time frame.
Have you listened to NOS4a2? It rocked as a winter listen!
Carole @ Carole's Random Life in Books
I haven’t listened to that one yet but I did buy the audiobook earlier this year so it is a definite possibility.
