HoHoHo RAT 2018 Caffeinated

It’s time to sign up for the Sixth Annual HoHoHo Readathon hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer.  Gather up your favorite cocoa, comfort foods, holiday music and books and join in the fun! For this event books and audiobooks with holiday or winter themes count.  You can participate for a day or cozy up by the fire and hang out every day. The more you participate the more entries you will earn for the Participant Giveaway.

The event will be longer this year after feedback from last years Twitter Party. It all begins on Friday November 9th and ends at 11:59pm on Sunday November 18th. We will have a Twitter party on the 18th at 3:30 pm (EST)

Elves Needed! Once again I am looking for Challenge Hosts to post fun challenges. These should be holiday themed and offer a small INT prize. These challenges would need to be posted on November 9th and remain open for the duration of the readathon. Ideas: puzzles, title poems, short stories, cover games, crosswords, instagram, fill in the blank, movie madness etc.

Hi Kim – I still haven’t decided to participate yet since I have a lot I have to deal with this month and I still have NG and TBRs to finish for the year.
Question though: I thought I recalled last year that the book had to be at least 100 pages. I didn’t see that this year. Does that still apply? Thanks.

I can’t believe I’m just seeing this now! This read-a-thon is always so much fun. Are you still looking for challenge hosts or are the spots filled?

My motto is always the more the merrier. I have bingo, cover, ball, jigsaw puzzles and instagram. If you want to do something and can send me title and link by Weds morning we’d love to have you host a challenge. Thanks Marie!

I always say I’m going to join and this year I’m doing it! I already have some holiday reads downloaded and waiting!

  4. Emilie

So excited for this! I just signed up! Will there be multiple “specific” challenges or is there just the general one to read winter/holiday books?

Hi Kim, I know I’m a bit late but I just signed up. I knew I wanted to prticipate in this ReadAThon since I heard about it, and it will be my second time participating.
Is it too late to also sign up to be your elf?

    Hallo, Hallo!

Before I completely forget to join the linky, I signed on today! I look forward to posting my participation post in November!! I have some stories I know I can read for this thon in mind, as Wintry stories are truly my jam! I strive to read more and more each year, and since the past few years have been on the leaner side, this is going to ROCK! What a great idea – as it helps bring the season closer to the heart! I was thinking of reading a combination of Historical Romance, Contemporary Romance & INSPY Suspense!

OK so this is my first one and I linked up my Goodreads shelf. I understand a Readathon is reading books which meet certain criteria. I tried to schedule my reviews for that time period also but that is well challenging since I’m not sure how long it will take me to read them. So do the reviews have to be posted the same time period as the challenge or are reviews not really part of the challenge time period? Yes, I always have to nail down the details to do something. Hi Anne, For the thon, you only need to show it read during the dates of the thon. You can post your reviews whenever on your blog or not at all.

  8. Sophia Rose

I’m in! I love doing this RAT each year and its great motivation for getting a stack of holiday/winter-themed review books done. 🙂

    Thanks, Kimberly!

Now, I’m off to shout out the world (okay my social media followers, maybe).

  9. Lindsi

This will be my first year participating, and I am pumped! I haven’t done a sign up post yet, so I just linked to my blog for now. Do I need to come back when I have a sign up post? Would you like for me to come back and leave the link in the comments? After I post my goal post, I’ll make sure the image links to you, but is it okay to use this image in the sidebar that links to my specific goal post? Like I did with my Beat the Backlist Challenge? If you click on Dewey Dragons, it takes you to my post with my goals, but the post itself links back to Novel Knight.

I’ll have to dig up all of my unread winter reads, so if anyone has any suggestions… let me know! Thanks for this, Kimberly! It sounds like a lot of fun.

Ooh I might have to sign up for this one. I’m pretty sure I did it last year, or maybe the year before that. I love reading cozy mysteries!! 🙂

☃️⛄ I got a copy of The Illustrated History of the Snowman. Did it even mention Olaf? or the movie Frozen? Anyway, let me get this straight. I can start reading Christmas themed books now in fulfillment of this readathon? I guess I always thought you only had the window of time according to when it starts and ends. Silly me.

Hi Jackie, No books for the readathon must be read during the thon. I got the Illustrated Snowman to post for review on the blog during the event to inspire ideas for everyone’s reading and to make it festive. Nope, it did not mention Olaf.
