Grab your thrillers, paranormal, supernatural, mysteries, horror books (audios) and more and join me for the FRATERFEST READATHON, October 11th through the 16th.
Yes, I am resurrecting the Fraterfest Readathon. I started this when I first began blogging to celebrate my love of horror, suspense, thrillers, the paranormal and more. Rhiannon Frater was the inspiration behind the title from her zombies to her kickass vampires. I hope you’ll join me as we get our spook on!
If you’d like to host a challenge for the readathon, email me: Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer Challenges can be anything your spooky mind can imagine from cover games to puzzles. The challenges would need to open for the entire event and participants should be eligible to win a small-prize.
This is going to be a fun easy readathon with very little requirements to participate. See rules below.

I am so eager to get this kick-off tonight!! 🙂 I needed a nudge towards starting to read the kind of stories I love most during this time of year and this had the best timing for me!! Thankful I could share my list!! I am doing a few things this October so I kept everything together so I know what I am reading and when as the themes are overlapping! lol
Kimberly
Woot! glad you joined the party!

Dani @ Perspective of a Writer
I’m excited to participate and get to three books that I push aside each month! They blessedly fall into the genres you are featuring and I hope to get to them all that week.

All linked up- glad I found this challenge!
Lauren @ Always Me
Ooh, I think I’m going to have to sign up for this! 🙂
Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight
This sounds SO fun, I have so many scary books to read that I never get around to, this is such a great chance! I might even do a poll and see what others have me read, rather than doing something silly like making my own decisions 😉 Also thanks for the email reminder thing- because my brain is awful and would forget so this is great!
Greg
Looking forward to this one!
Mayor Sonni (@Readeropolis)
Thanks for resurrecting/hosting! I am planning to read Thr3e by Ted Dekker during the challenge.
Kathy Arguelles
This sounds fun and I’ll do my best (but life always gets in the way of read-a-thons lol). I plan to read some thrillers and paranormals for October so maybe I’ll make this a month long challenge. I hope everyone has fun!
sherry fundin
Sounds like fun and I hope everyone has a great time.
Darlene
Yay! Thanks for resurrecting Fraterfest. I’m going to listen to Frater’s The Last Mission of the Living and read the second book in the As the World Dies trilogy, Fighting to Survive.
Dani @ Perspective of a Writer
YES! Now a reason to read the handful of paranormal on my backlist list!! I’m going to go for it, thanks for hosting this Kimberly.
Greg
I’m glad you’re doing this, I remember when I started blogging it seemed like there were more October-y events (I’m probably exaggerating in my mind how many there were) so when I saw this I smiled. 🙂 Looks fun!
Kimberly
I hope you’ll be joining us.
Noelle Kelly
I’m a horror fiend so I’m definitely in!
Trish @ Between My Lines
Sounds fun! I’m in and will share on my Facebook page 🙂

I have a bunch of Rhiannon Frater’s books. I agree. She writes some killer stories. I’m going to check my schedule and see if I can work this challenge into one I’m doing for the whole month of October.
Michelle @Because Reading
Signing up soon for this. I love a good scary story and I have a few short ones on KU that I have been watching to binge read, I guess now is the perfect time 🙂
Jennifer
This is perfect. I had Rhiannon Frater As the World Dies series on my bookshelf forever and I keep planning to read them each October but I fail to do so. I also have a few other books I could read/listen to for this. I’m joining in via Goodreads.
Heidi
I will certainly be reading something creepy during October! Sounds like fun.

Hmm, I might see what books I have that are recommendations and that fit the requirements here so I can combine OctobeRecFest and this RAT. It sounds fun, Kimberly!
Melanie Simmons
This is awesome. I love all books you mentioned. I’m sure I’ll have a few that I’m going to want to tackle. I hope that I get Mr Mercedes in from the library in time.
