I feel good. I cannot believe I spent the entire month of July sick. Let’s hope I am good for a few months.  For the month of July I managed to read/listen to  27 books. I read the final book in one of my favorite UF series. (The Sentinels of New Orleans) It was so good, and I like that she left the door slightly cracked for spinoffs or revisits. My computer screen is dying. I work from home and blog….so I might be buying a laptop today. It’s like playing Russian Roulette every time I use it!  Wish me luck. I hope you have a terrific week. Stay Caffeinated!

I can’t believe it either. Was it a month long? I was sick a week and man, it was no fun especially since July was a busy month for us.

  2. Jackie Briere

Kim!! Hi! How are you? Is there a Sunday Post format for free WordPress? I tried hosting my blog with Hostgator once, but it costs too much for me.

    • Kimberly

No Jackie. What I do is go to last weeks Sunday Post on my dashboard and copy the HTML side, then paste it into a new post (HTML side). Then hit save, I change title, message and update info in each catergory. It keeps it formatted.

  3. Lorna

Well I guess my ghost outfit will be some sort of jammies. If I don’t go out, then that’s what I am going to be wearing. So happy to hear you are recovered. You need to load up on vitamin c this fall though! and uh oh-new laptop time. The last one I bought is sitting here not being used since pretty much when I got it a few years ago. I hate Windows 10! But if something happens to this one I guess it’s good I have one. I had this thing that I wanted two laptops-yeah that didn’t work so much!

  4. ShootingStarsMag

I’m so glad that you are feeling better. Being sick for basically a month is AWFUL! I hope you are healthy for a long time now. 🙂

  5. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

So glad to hear you’re feeling better! It’s been a rough time for you. I hope the transition to new laptop isn’t to awful if yours is really going. I laughed at the ghost outfit. I’d be in leggings and a Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires tshirt. There are worse things to be wearing as a ghost I guess though it’s not particularly grand or scary. Hope you have a lovely week.

    • Kimberly

I know I will haunt the world without a bra. I am home 95% of the time and never put one on unless I am going out..lol Come to think of it, If I happen to expire with one on..i will be pissed. Bwahaha!

  6. Tyler H. Jolley

This might be a dumb question, but why is your screen dying? I’ve never had that happen so it’s all new to me. I hope you are healthy for the rest of year.

    • Kimberly

Not dumb at all. It is a touch screen laptop and somewhere inside the connection is dying. So my screen rolls, jumps and then goes black. Then I have to move it back and forth, pray to the gods and try to tune it back in.

  7. S. J. Pajonas

I’m so very glad to hear you’re feeling better! Yay! I was sick for three weeks with the flu and a sinus infection in February and it was the worst. I can only imagine how you felt. Hope your August is sickness free!

  8. Nise;

Glad you are feeling better! Hope August is a healthy month filled with plenty of reading. Can’t wait for Magic Triumphs. A new lap top is needed at our house too!

  9. MarthaE

I am so glad you are feeling better! You had a good reading week even when you weren’t feeling well.
I’ll have to note the HO HO HO Challenge again this year.
Ha Ha to the Random image! Happy Reading!

  10. Jennifer

I love my MacBook Pro. I’ve had it for at least 5 years. No problems with it at all. The new HoHoHoRAT button is so cute. I’ve added the dates to my calendar!

    • Kimberly

I am so not an Apple person. However, that is one I am looking at because I can avoid Windows, still use Word, Excel etc and Chrome. Which I love.

  11. Sophia Rose

Yay for better health! Oh, you and Lola must have the same affect on computer screens. LOL Hope you find a good one that you like.

Nice haul. I got Magic Triumphs, too.

    Have a great week, Kimberly!

  12. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Yay!! Glad you’re finally feeling better! That’s got to be a relief!! And yay(?) for a new laptop? I just bought one myself this weekend since it’s tax free weekend for my state. I still had city taxes but still got a good deal. Really liking it too and it’s working so much better than my old one! I wish you luck in finding your new one!

Nice new reads too! Totally new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy them all!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Good luck getting a computer.

I ended up getting the Surface a few years ago. You can use it as a laptop or hook it up to a monitor which works well for me when I need the bigger screen (bad eyes).

And wow! you got a lot of reading in!

  14. Lola

I am sorry to hear that you spent the whole month of July sick. Let’s hope you’re doing better from now onward. That’s awesome you got so many books read/ listened this month. Finishing the last book in a series you love is always bittersweet.

Good luck with picking out a new laptop. I recently got a new computer and it’s so awesome to have a new one, although picking one out and installing it once it arrived can be a bit of a pain. But if you work from home and blog you really need a computer/ laptop that you can rely on. Have a great week!

  15. Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books

Good luck with the laptop hunting!

I hadn’t heard of The Sentinels of New Orleans series but UF is a fav genre of mine so I’m always on the lookout for new series. Complete series are even better for if I like it, I can binge it. 🙂

    • Kimberly

I love Suzanne Johnson and use to review her books on the blog, but now I work as a PA for her. I love the series. I hope you decide to try them.

  16. Kathy @ My Nook Books & More

Hi Kim! It’s good to hear you’re feeling better. Sorry to hear about your laptop and I understand what you’re going through. That’s how I feel about our internet connection right now. I never know if I’ll lose connection and of course it’s right in the middle of me doing something important (blogging, shopping or paying bills). I hope you find a laptop you like (there are so many to choose from now lol). I want to read more UF so I’ll have to check out that series. I hope you have a great week!

I’m thrilled you are feeling better. Even tho you can read when you are sick, there’s nothing like feeling well. While I suffer from allergies sometimes, I am a freak of hand-washing nature. I haven’t had a cold for 17 years and no flu for 22 years. I wash when I use the bathroom, of course when I work with food or eat, and if I shop and use a pen or stylus which are used by who knows who.

I updated my laptop this year. The old one was 6 years old and everything worked but it had gotten slow. I bought the new one HP with Windows 10, lots of RAM and couldn’t get myself to move over for SIX months. Now that I did I’m sorry I didn’t do it sooner. BUT backup, backup, backup. I worked in IT for so many years this is a key. I see many books you have which I also hope to enjoy Anne – Books of My Heart

    • Kimberly

I am a hand washer too, although no antibacterial soap. Doctor;s orders. However, I have an auto-immune disease that welcomes airborne germs. I swear it says come in, let’s party. Typically I take good care of myself and rest like I should, but when we travel or have a major holiday and I push and do too much or get around too many people…bam..i get sick and have a heck of a time getting rid of it.

  18. Mary Kirkland

Good luck on the laptop shopping. It took me forever to decide what kind of laptop to get a few years ago when my other one stopped working.

So glad to hear you’re feeling better.

Yay for feeling better! Woot woot! {{{posivibes}}} that you stay healthy for a very long time.

The kids got new laptops last year. HPs with touch screen. Hubby upgraded his to the same HP but no touch screen and earlier this year I finally got my very own laptop, same HP no touch screen. I’m still trying to figure out Windows 10 (currently using Windows 7 on my desktop) but otherwise I really like it. Good shopping!

    • Kimberly

I have an ASUS which I love, but its the damn touch screen that is causing the issue, plus this was a Windows 7 and while I got free upgrade to 10 it caused some kind of error and every once in a while I shut down due to a hardware error, so its time. I don’t think I want the touch screen again.

  20. Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra

Yay, I’m so glad to hear that you’re finally feeling better. Hopefully that’s the end of sickness for you for a good long while. Thanks for the Save the Date reminder for the HoHoHo Readathon. I really enjoyed that last year and look forward to taking part again this time. 🙂

  21. Jolene Wilson

Glad you are feeling better! My son has a cold right not and I am hoping I don’t catch it. Enjoy the rest of your summer! It is flying by. I am busy with The Dog Days of Summer Reading Challenge with La La in the Library. Lots of fun!

  22. Trisha

That’s a long time to feel crummy! Glad you are better. Have fun buying the new computer; I love getting a nice, new computer, but I hate figuring out which to buy.

  23. Mary @StackingMyBookShelves!

Glad to hear you are feeling better! I am free for a month. Still have many reviews to read and books for that matter. I think I am doing good with it tho. Have a wonderful week!

Yay on feeling good Kimberly! I’m thrilled to hear that after all you’ve been through, and yes, I have a FREE frozen frappuccino in hand thanks to Krispy Kreme for my birthday month.(lol) Not bad on the reading front with all you had going on. Sure hope your August is the best ever! Hugs…RO

  25. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

Hooray for finally feeling healthy! 2018 has sure knocked you around with colds and worse. I really loved The Simple Wild. One of my favorites from Tucker. I look forward to checking out your review. Happy laptop shopping! 🙂

Yay, can’t wait for HoHoHo Readathon! Glad you are feeling better Kim. And looking forward to your review of K A Tuckers book as I’m thinking that’ll be my next audible purchase.

Delighted to hear you are feeling so much better – and sorry that July slid past in a blur of being sick… And commiserations on the demise of your computer – I LOATHE it when my tech stuff needs changing – all that uploading and changing over! I suppose the good news is the new shiny machines invariably are faster… Wishing the changeover is a smooth one, Kimberly!

  28. Sam@WLABB

Yeah! I am happy to hear you are finally feeling well. A new laptop is nice.. Right now, I keep my fingers crossed every time I install an update, sometimes I just skip them, because this one is on the older side these days, Good luck with the search!

Yes, it makes me sad but the new Hugh series is awesome and I love the Innkeeper Chronicles and hope for more of her other series.

  29. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

I hope your laptop survives long enough to get a new one up and running with all your files on it. And I’m very glad you’re feeling better!

I’m making a note of the HoHoHo RAT. And your random thought made me laugh out loud.

    • Kimberly

Thankfully I back everything up on Dropbox. Hehe, that random makes me giggle every time! I will probably end up in my pajamas! .

  30. Laurel-Rain Snow

I’m glad you’re finally well! As for the laptop, I keep thinking that mine will probably start losing its best self soon, since I’ve had it now for five years! My keyboard has some worn off letters, but so far I’m managing.

Good luck finding another…and enjoy your week.

    • Kimberly

Mine is almost five. It has a touch screen and there must be some kind of short in it, Right now I have it at 90 degrees and it seems to holding, but one bump and the image starts to roll. Plus this angle isn’t really comfortable on the eyes. Ugh.

    • Kimberly

It is a lot of fun. We read holiday and winter book. (any book with a winter setting) have challenges, twitter party and prizes.

    • Kimberly

They all seem to be pretty light now, although in truth 99% of the time it never moves from my desk.

  31. JJ @ This Dark Material

Hooray for feeling better! I hope your laptop shopping adventure, if it happens, is more fun than stressful. It’s amazing how quickly shopping for tech can turn into a pain when most of your daily activities revolve around it.

It is a pain. like shopping for a car. All the features, wants and needs. plus you want something that will last. Mine current one is not quite five years old.

  32. Greg

Aw sorry to hear about the computer, but happy laptop shopping if you do! And glad to hear you’re feeling better. 27 books is pretty fantastic.

    Happy Sunday 🙂

  33. El

Oooh which laptop are you planning on buying?

& I love that ‘totally random’ pic! Got to always be dressed to impress, haha 🙂

    • Kimberly

I have been researching that this morning. I am not a gamer and use it for work. My current is a Asus, but it has a touch screen which is causing me the issues.
